Where do you guys hope the canon goes post-Episode 9?
New war? Will Luke have a son he didn't know about? I'm so curious since it more than likely won't be an EU retread, and episode 9 being the last saga film means they are able to drop the rebels/empire aesthetic.

No, she's still a paragon of goodness at the end of TLJ and barely acknowledges everything that just went down with Kylo in that Throne Room. She disappears and then we next see her manning the MF's gun and looking happy and whooping about it. No internal conflict or overwhelming pain or anger.

Either way, I'm kind of on board with the user's prediction. Rey is staunch light, by principle and her very nature, but note how fierce-tempered, agressive and trigger-happy she is both in TLJ and TFA? A droid tells me that a guy is wearing a stolen jacket? Better chase him down and bash his face in! Two random Stormtroopers stand on the other side of the gorge, unaware of me and posing no threat whatsoever? Shoot the motherfuckers down! And look at her fighting style and facial expressions both in the SKB duel and in the Throne room fight. She's drenched in the Dark side.
And then you've got her brushes in the Dark side in TLJ, where she's immediately pulled to the cave without even attempting to resist and her feelings within the cave itself (how she felt safe, secure and unafraid for the first time on the island). The Dark side gives her confidence and control.
So, I think that Rey totally won't be "evil", but she'll definitely be somewhat of a ruthless blood knight. She big challenge for her will be, I think, to not just act out of moral superiority and hubris like Luke was tempted to, and offer compassion to Kylo even after all he has done, should he ask for forgiveness.

But the whole point is that Rey is so amazing that she can dip into the dark side without fear and come out unscathed. She's a paragon and she's not going to fall. They could have presented a weakness in her toward the dark in TLJ but they didn't. I don't see JJ taking it there now.

The way I look at it is less in terms of RPG-style alignment or whatever, but in terms of morality and while asking what constitutes an ideal of a true Jedi. If Rey goes around acting as a vigilante, wiping her enemies with no qualms whatsoever, then she won't be a good Jedi. She won't be a good person. Simple as that.
It's less of a question of "can Rey use the Sith Lightning and still be a lightsider?" and more of a "how far down the slippery slope can she go in her actions before she'll be just another elitist, superior, rigid, narrow-minded, pompous ass like Mace Windu?"
