It's going to further divide along urban/rural lines. Highly dense population centers will go blue, but suburbs and rural america will increasingly go red. In this election, a lot of suburbs didn't go for Trump because of "literally hitler" meme (he still won them of course), but that won't work in 4 years and they'll break for him. Both New Hampshire and Maine were almost Trump and Hillary barely won in those states. Vermont is pretty much the only rural state right now that's solidly democrat, but even then they just elected a fucking republican governor.
