If somebody does that, then you know they don't care about the greater good and are in it for the glory.

>Villain spares the hero just to bully him

What are some /ss/ related tropes?

Thank you for that glorious image, Op

>villain states that the hero only has X amount of time before they die

>he's right

>Characters are anthropomorphic animals
>"May I adress the elephant in the room"
>Literally talking about an elephant

The sidekick is the only competent one.

>Act natural!
>do weird and funny poses

I really wish they showed what adult adipose looked like

>innocent or naive character makes basic remark that sums up how shit a situation is
>heroic character fights dark instincts to do the right thing
>action the MC makes is so unexpected, the villain completely deadpans
>completely chill slob either has a heart of gold or has a surprisingly privileged background
>character is surprisingly respectful of local law and etiquette in situation where that shit would very much be forgiven

>'We don't know X is going to happen'
>X nearly happens
>'SHIT YOU GUYS, X IS GOING TO HAPPEN'

What I'm saying is that I really liked Big Hero 6.

>Is somebody there?
>No one is here.
>Huh, nobody's here I guess.

>"ANTAGONIIIIIIIIST"
>"PROTAGONIIIIIIIIST"

>in complete darkness you can only see the characters eyes as they talk to eachother
>Another set of eyes appear and the characters mistake it for one another or someone else when it's a monster or something

>check it out! i made a clock out of your fire!
>actually never mind

>Last few heroes hanging on by a thread
>The calvary arrives and helps drive back the villains

>something sabotages main group
>group fights/defeats some villain
>"so how did you fuck with us back then?"
>it wasn't the villain
it doesn't get addressed

> calvary

>new guy shows up for some reason or another
>is unnaturally competent and/or pleasant
>everyone accepts them except the suspicious main character
>in the end it turns out that they were just a normal cool person
>bonus points if they leave at the end because the rest of the show was too weird for them

fuck

>This joke but the speaker is Italian
>And there's a naked elephant in the room

You could fill a whole thread with those.

TETSUOOOOOOOOOO
KANEDAAAAAAAAAAAA

>Donkey!

> team of bad guys regularly get wrecked by the heroes
> new bad guys try to muscle them out and take over
> primary bad guys absolutely mop the floor with them before the protagonists even know there is a new player in town. They are not weak, its just that the protagonists are just that fucking strong
> immediately go back to jobbing

Or, the flip side

> bad guy jobs heavily to heroes
> heroes take for granted that the bad guy can be beaten
> bad guy is put into a position where he is forced to let loose and turns out to be much, much stronger than he lets on
> "But, if you can do that..."
> "Yeah. I'd destroy you. And then we wouldn't have any more battles to fight. How boring that would be. So lets pick up where we left off... unless you want to fight for real?"

>Cold, detached, supervillain x emotional, caring heroine
I'm sorry anons, I'm a weak person

>Not Emotional, caring heroine

It's okay as long as you promise not to do it again

what? I don't understand.

Meant
>Not emotional, caring supervillain and cold, detached heroine

>cut to characters talking about something
>it is both incredibly specific and inane to the most basic degree

The part where Henchmen 21 and 24 talk about what species the Smurfs are comes to mind

TTTTEEEEEETTTSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>stoic, brooding anti-hero/villain
>joins the good guys
>loosens up and shows his nicer side more often

KANEDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

>Villain joins the heroes and turns into a more likeable hero than the protag
>The protag turns bitter and becomes the new villain

I loved that they would do this on King of the Hill, and you'd just get the tail end of some really dumb conversation in the alley before it's interrupted by something story-related
>"I'm just saying, you have the TENDENCIES of a capricorn!"

>piccolo
>vegeta
>the manarch
>Dr girlfriend
>sgt hatred
>orochimaru
>renji
>pretty much the entire shinigami faction

>Villain joins the heroes and turns into a more likeable hero than the protag
>gara
>The protag turns bitter and becomes the new villain
>sasuke

>villain has to save the day

Who?

>12 year olds or younger talk like they are 30 and have a society at the playground that mirrors adults society
i love that shit

Hero is actually evil and only a hero for fame glory money etc

Villain knows this and tries to warn people. Gets mocked and decides to take down hero himself.

Villain wins and is hated by all for killing the hero.

Hero wins and slowly becomes the villain and over time people reminisce about the old villains warnings.

Holy fuck, it's good. Examples?

A young boy consoles a tall and strong older girl due to being called a freak?

>villain punishes henchmen for incompetence

Well duh, that's why they're the villain.

>the antihero who pretends not to care consistently shows through his actions that he cares the most

>stoic, brooding anti-hero/villain
>joins the good guys
>his brooding-ness is now out of place making him very socially awkward and a bit adoreable

>Hero is genuinly unreasonably idealistic and good
>Villain is a cynic and goes to great lengths to break them and show their "true nature".
>Villain suceeds in doing somethong bad enough that it breaks the hero
>Villain is smug untill the hero wrecks them completely and in the most terryfying fashion.

>"back in the day we used to build our own houses, farm our own animals, eat our own babies and dig our own toilets"
>"wait, what was that?"
>"I said dig our own toilets"

Didn't meant to reply to that post; sorry.

>idealistic character and cynical character work off each other
>the idealistic one becomes more pessimistic and the cynical becomes more optimistic
>despite the change they still conserve their roles of positivism and negativity

>five minutes

>protags prepare to tackle one pair of glowy eyes in the darkness
>suddenly dozens of other eyes start glowing around the first pair

>the heroes fail to stop the villain
>he succeeds with his plan
>but it turns out he grossly miscalculated and is defeated by his own plan

Also:
>villainous time manipulation

>quirky miniboss type wacky antagonist duo
>usually bickering ninnies who proceed to job
>start to use the power of friendship
>absolutely annihilate the heroes

>hero is a shallow, self-centered asshole who's only in it for the fame and glory
>the villain is the only other character bad enough to make them look "good" by comparison

similar
>powerful villain that wants to rule the world has to stop the powerful thing that wants to destroy the world... and holds it over everyone from then on

>Despite how evil or dastardly the villain is, he's nice to his henchmen and spoils them a bit
>Henchmen have breakrooms, a cafeteria or even a sauna back at base
>Bonus points if it's an episode showing the daily life of some of the henchmen.

Not him but the closet example I know of is Jack Spicer, for most of the series he's played off as a joke character but I think that's mostly because deep down he actually likes the heroes, but when he gets his shit together he's actually the most powerful villain in the series.

The former is literally a whole episode of Sunred.

>"LIQUIIIIIIIIIIIIID"
>"SNAAAAAAAKE"

>The Villains are afraid of the IRS

D I S C O R D

>The transformation sequence is long, elaborate and cool

>The villain has some dorky and non-threatening hobby like collecting tea-coseys

>Somebody throws something offscreen and it hits an unseen animal

>Someone eats a very spicy meal and they breathe fire or burn up
>bonus points if another character has no ill aftereffects and asks for more spice

>villain has hero captured
>they have a normal conversation
>possibly even bond a little

love it

I fucking love this. Characters should talk about and do things that are unrelated to the plot.

>Villain who everyone thought died returns

m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn5-UEG2q7g

>You will never watch Superman and Dark Seid argue about whether the DH is good for baseball or not.

>be Italian
>had to say it out loud to understand the joke
Good one, user.

>Hero endures alone against an impossible situation through sheer willpower.
>Despite the odds, no matter how hard or how long it will take, they never, ever ever give in

>Throw up your hands
Power rangers really does have its moments

What the fuck is it with this website and masturbating over "Muh henchmen"

If you'll allow me to speculate, I think it comes from the people who believe fiction should follow some sort of karmic justice getting tired of the "villain treats his loyal henchmen like shit".
I'm howling at the moon
...

this guy always brings a smile to my face. I fucking love Mumen rider.

I love how Stroker and Hoop handled that; you keep killing your henchman for doing a shit job, and eventually you'll have no one left.

I love everything involving the Saitama vs Boros fight from One punch man even though it is generic as fuck Shounen fight.

>the villain and the hero end up respecting each other and even admiring each other.

STANDING HERE
I REALIZE
YOU ARE JUST LIKE ME
TRYING TO MAKE HISTORY

>woman is single/divorced/or recent widow
>stacked thicc and beautiful by all accounts
>no man wants her because she's over "25"
>Shota is the first person to compliment her or acknowledge her as beautiful

>episode has an anti-hobby/activity/obsession message
>heroes win only because they/one of them is invested in said hobby/activity/obsession

the boy is actually horrifically raped but nobody believes him/nobody cares/or are envious of him

>villain/villainess saves heroine's/hero's life because he's/she's in love with her/him

I had a soft spot for Sledge. It's a shame he didn't get more scenes of him beating the shit out of the Rangers.

>comedy cartoon villain finally has the chance to kill the protagonist
>he stalls for time because he doesn't really want to do it

I love it too.
Fillmore and KND are the tightest shit.

>Villian's plan succeeding
>Stops mid motive rant/celebration and looks around confused
>Hero asks him what he plans next
>"...I don't know, I didn't expect to get this far"

>the final battle
>the theme song plays
If your show isn't doing this then it's wrong.

It's a good one to subvert, too.

"I'd like a moment of your time."

>>the villains fail to stop the hero
>>she succeeds with her plan
>>but it turns out she grossly miscalculated and is defeated by her own plan
Also:
>>heroic time manipulation

>woman has money, influence, or straight up magical powers. boy does not.
>woman can keep getting away with it
>boy breaks down and accepts his fate as her play thing

Unf

>Horny old man is actually the reincarnation of a fourteen year old angel trying to defeat the Devil who ursurped God's rightful position

>Final battle is so hype your grandfather's OP starts playing
youtube.com/watch?v=i1YcJkYBAxQ

>Pacifistic character is pushed to his limit by an irredeemably awful villain
>Villain smugly mocks the pacifist's inability to kill him
>The pacifist realizes that some people are too dangerous to keep showing mercy to
>Villain freaks out when he realizes that he pushed the nice guy too far and dies like a bitch at the pacifist's hands

The content of these threads do a lot to explain why comic books are fucking terrible now

>stars visible through the moon

>KHAAAAAAAAAAN
