What do you think Sup Forums? It would be a great idea? It isn't like Joker hasn't been portrayed homoerotic before, Scott Snyder, Frank Miller and Grant Morrison seems to entertain the idea, also Telltale Joker is pretty gay if you ask me and so it was Lego Joker. It'd fit with his character imo
I've always thought The Joker was asexual cause of the Mad Love episode where Harley is dressed sexy for him but he doesn't care.
Austin Brown
Yeah why not. It explains all the stupid shit between him and batman in one go
Tyler Perez
>again Why can't faggots just deal with someone else not sucking cocks 24/7? I don't go outside holding a flag and getting in people's faces about wanting to fuck the pussy.
Tell you what. Make Joker gay but Alan Scott straight again. That's a fair trade.
Isaac Sullivan
I miss the days where faggots who didnt read comics didn't try to change every little thing to suit their reality
Jason Wright
>Make the Joker guy >He does evil shit Batman kicks his ass >People complain about Homophobia
There is literally no benefit. And what the fuck do they mean "again"?
Thomas Stewart
I don't know, Heath Ledger was pretty gay.
Zachary Myers
Why, so Joker could be another by-the-numbers villain who's in obsessive love with MC? Fuck that shit, I hate that damn archetype. Give me mobster Joker who wants Batman dead any day.
Lincoln Lee
Why are so many retarded people drawn to change.org? I've never seen that site contribute to anything meaningful.
Justin Gutierrez
>Give me mobster Joker who wants Batman dead any day. So you want joker to stop being his own character to turn into a Penguin wannabe.
Grayson Perez
You mean, BTAS Joker?
Brayden Green
Stop fetishizing gay people and trying to make other characters gay
Eli Brooks
Remember when Joker did things because it was funny. I'd like to see that again.
Dominic Evans
I believe it's been implied that the Joker is unable to achieve orgasm without prostate stimulation, due to his chemical damage, but that usually involves girls.
Ryan Gutierrez
>Give me mobster Joker who wants Batman dead any day. >BTAS Joker
He literally said "Without Batman, crime has no punchline."
Benjamin Campbell
>Telltale Joker is pretty gay if you ask me
Besides calling Bruce ridiculously handsome, he hasn't shown himself to be homosexual. He's a lot more emotional and eager to display affection, but John's basically got no understanding of interpersonal relationships.
John Johnson
Later in that episode he says he wanted to kill Batman for good, though.
Carter Ross
>let's make the Joker gay >let's make the Joker a misuderstood victim of bullying >let's make the Joker an edgelord Yikes.
Sebastian Torres
>Joker >gay He is clearly Batsexual.
Robert Reyes
>Tell you what. Make Joker gay but Alan Scott straight again. That's a fair trade. Bring him back to GL books and it's a deal.
Wyatt Gonzalez
Joker's gay Harley's a lesbian
They act as each others' beards because they're crazy. It could work.
Hudson Ward
Then NOBODY could kill the Joker because that would be a hate crime.
Adam Martinez
isn't the whole point of lgbtq propaganda is to further the normalization of queers?
If the joker becomes a lgbtq icon, then the comics will turn to shit because they'll constantly be pushing a "I'm the joker so queer much homo" to satisfy the fags and cis-sympathizers instead of making an actual story
If the joker was canonically gay, who the fuck cares then? It should be a fun fact that most people wouldn't expect because sexuality doesn't play a big role in a superhero comic other than batman fucking a cosplaying cat woman.
Signing that petition is like saying "hey, we want to shove this shit down everyone else's throats"
This is why I hate the lgbtq "movement". They don't want to normalize themselves, they claim minority victims then celebrate how minority they are. They don't want the joker, they want a flamboyant raging fag fueled propaganda villain.
By signing a petition to make the joker more obviously gay, you're actively doing the OPPOSITE of what the whole "movement" is supposed to be about
Grayson Bell
>let's make a flamboyant theatrical guy in garish clothes a homo Real progressive.
Charles Lopez
>the joker becomes gay >Sup Forums gets mad >fags pat themselves on the back >the rest of the world still knows that the joker is an evil piece of shit
Connor Wright
Go whine about the evil gay agenda on Sup Forums.
Benjamin Wilson
So these are all people that don't know anything about Batman, right? Telltale, Lego and even White Knight have been super gay.
Cameron Sullivan
I never said it was evil, but it is a new color on the spectrum of autism
Couldn't care less what you like to fuck, but when your sex life begins to interfer with my life, in this case, changing a beloved comic book villain from casually gay to flamboyently gay to push the fag agenda it becomes an issue
so actually, YOU should go back to your safe space >>>>>>> /lgbtq/
James Wood
it's disgusting that that's the only thing you can bother to retort with. You supposedly read what I have to say but lacked any note of fallacy to counter argue with.
it's absolutely abhorrent that people can no longer even have a reasonable conversation anymore without feelings getting shoveled in to produce an intellectually starving "conversation"
you've not only managed to fail at understanding my post, but you've helped my point by making it so hilariously obvious that I'm right in my observation. If you truly believed in accepting everyone, why can't you do the same with words? Or are you really that frail user?
Joshua Gutierrez
So does anyone else find it funny that gays are just bad guys in different shows and movies? I mean if the lgbt community really gave a shit about not looking like a villain all the time why do they always game themselves the villain in tv/comics/movies
Angel Williams
You realise its rarley homosexuals pushing this right? It's primarily well off suburban white girls who enter college and think they're clever and open-minded and crave something fight for something, because it's not like they ever has to work for anything before .
Honestly I don't mind gender and sexuality fluidity and all that tumblr brand sjw crap, because it doesn't really matter you do whatever but their obsession with labels is damaging any serious discussion.
The sheer quantity of labels they create makes you think maybe people are all individuals and putting them all in boxes with nice little labels is never going to be a catch all.
I'd love to see gravitation away from labeling and more of a focus on sexuality etc. is not really a big deal and doesn't warrant eternal discussion and just support people being themselves, because what ever, as long as they ain't hurting anyone whatever floats zher boats.
The Joker is a comic book character with almost 80 years history, half of which he was portrayed as homosexual - for instance, in such significant graphic novels as Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns or Grant Morrison’s Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Neal Adams claimed that The Joker was and always had been homosexual. This opinion was shared by other comic books authors and artists for decades. That is why it’s so important to me and other queer readers to return his homosexuality.
The Joker repeatedly confessed his feelings to Batman and showed an interest in other men. Also there was Joker’s unnamed boyfriend in the graphic novel Devil’s Advocate. The Joker has many feminine traits - he uses lipstick, paints his nails, wears high heels and sometimes does crossdressing. We realize that some of these things is stereotypical, but it gives a very clear picture. Over the years, there were plenty of other queer moments in comics, cartoons and video games (especially in Batman: Arkham series).
However, in the late nineties someone decided to erase Joker’s homosexuality and introduced Harley Quinn as his girlfriend (by the way, Harley was made up for the Batman: The Animated Series to replace the Joker in one scene, in which he was supposed to jump from the cake in drag). In the mass consciousness Harley became his only love interest, although in canonical comics there is no evidence that there are romantic or sexual feelings from the Joker’s part. His enforced relationship with Harley Quinn looks like an attempt to retconned his homosexuality and turn him in acceptable straight man.
Daniel Gomez
DC Comics already has a great cast of queer characters - heroes (Batwoman or Midnighter), as well as villains (Harley Quinn or Poison Ivy). Maybe some people don’t want to see the “terrible villain” as part of the LGBT community. But on the other hand, in Gotham series The Penguin became gay without any problem, and he is morally no better than the Joker. It’s not homophobic to have a queer villain. So why not let the Clown Prince of Crime "out of the closet"? DC Rebirth is an excellent reason to bring the Joker back to his roots.
We ask DC Comics to restore The Joker’s homosexuality in comics and other media. No one’s sexual identity should be changed, even it’s only a fictional character. Because sometimes fictional characters is something real people hold onto.
Mason Edwards
Does that make Harley Joker's beard?
Xavier Murphy
Telltale's Joker is in love with Harley. And you're using gay to mean effeminate here anyway and not actually "fucks males because of sexual attraction to males"
Kayden Sanders
Joker should be asexual, but not like make a big deal out of it, just that sex is of no interest to him. A sociopath has no interest in relationships with other people and is more concern about manipulating them and using them for his own interest. That is one thing I think Ledger's joker got right, when he first meets Rachel I thought for a second that he was going to flirt with her because she is the main love interest and all the main guys had to be in love with her, but I liked that he did not care about her, unlike Nicholson's joker. And the relationship with Batman is more about getting a rise out of him and trolling him because its fun, not because he has any type of feelings for him. That's how I saw Miller's Joker, but because he wears make up and tells Batman that he loves him, people see it as gay. Also, Morrison's Joker is making a commentary on Batman's latent homosexuality, more than hitting on him. And the less we talk about Batman Europa the better.
Joshua Foster
Harley is romantically interested in the Joker, but the Joker isn't romantically interested in Harley. He just thinks it's funny to debase her in a "laughing at you" way. She's funny to him because she's an obsessive but otherwise competent person who is utterly incompetent at the one thing that makes a good clown--knowing how to tell a joke.
Benjamin Hill
That last line sums up the problem with a lot of this generation. Entertainment media has become the new religion, and parenting/education have failed them completely.
Come on, trying to make a mass murdering, abusive and narcissistic asshole villian into any kind of role model or symbol is all kinds of messed up. Especially when there are plenty of positive gay role models to promote instead.
Brayden Perez
Fuck off with your sense. I want to keep straw maning.
Brody Lewis
No. I'm sick of people demanding that their entertainment sources be painted in their personal life choices. If its actually your choice, you should not need validation for that choice from every other fiction you enjoy in your free time
Besides, he's a fucking villain. Who cares what his sexuality is, he's never going to date and never have kids and never do anything but be a villain. What is the point of trying to develop a "soft side" to joker?
I like to think myself pretty liberal, but there is nothing useful to be gained from making Joker gay, except to add fodder to these assholeswho want to pretend being gay is tantamount to being a pedophile and murderer.
Oliver Rodriguez
>wanting to retroactively cast Death in the Family and The Killing Joke as the acts of an insane, sexually abusive homosexual Jesus. Just think about this for nine seconds. Joker would immediately become the highest profile gay character in comics. Do you really want your "flagship" character to be one of the worst human beings to ever be portrayed in fiction? Especially one that skirts the line of so many negative homosexual stereotypes? You really want to make Joker a "Dunblane Massacre" stand-in?
Luis Sanchez
Is it possible he's so crazy that any kind of sexual identity or relationship he has wouldn't be categorized in any kind of healthy category? No. No he's either super straight or super gay.
Ayden Turner
Joker shouldn't be gay. He should be obsessed with Batman more than anything else. He sees Batman as his cosmic other half
His relationship with Harley is just as someone who is willing to indulge in his chaos and have fun with, she is little more than a toy for him to break.
Mason Sanchez
Chiropterasexual. I like it.
Camden Robinson
>lol it doesn't matter if you're gay or straight >MAKE JOKER GAY YOU BIGOTS!
Carson Martin
Joker is gay for Batman and that's the only gay he needs.
Liam Cruz
I don't like switching characters sexuality at all. But I do SORT OF like this idea, because part of the problem with sexuality switches is that it's just used for propaganda. Hero=This sexuality we're trying to say is "good". Good guy=Thing we're trying to promote.
The bad guy being gay will show that just being gay alone doesn't make one good or evil by itself. That would be ultimately fair and expose writers that just use sexuality for propaganda if they have a problem with it. On the other hand though I think it over complicates the character unless they're literally going to do and come out and say there is a homoerotic problem with the Joker because he's attracted to Batman but can't have him so he lashes out against him and everyone else.
On the other other hand I think that just reduces Joker down to one trait and that makes him boring and one dimensional, hence the problem with making established straight characters gay in the first place.
Jason Davis
I hate bullshit like this, sexuality should be a fucking spectrum not a label. Let him be in love with Batman when it fits the story and with Harley when it fits the story. Stop trying to label everything and make it fit in neat little categories.
Mason Scott
I wouldn't call him gay,he's just gay for batman. Want's him to hate fuck his ass hard.
Juan Harris
Joker can't "be gay" he personifies a tied of gaiety mixed with sociopothy that defined The Joker. You could try turning gay people sociopathic again but so much work has been put into building a place for them in society (at the cost of property values lowering on all sorts of values.) Gay isn't even real anyway. If it was straight men would never have to hear about it and Gay Black is DEFINITELY not real because if it were black gays would be marching through the streets to protest FOR prison reform instead of "Pride" . Joker has the most verisimilitude in that he uses gender expectations as weapon in his uncommital war with everything. tl;dr "Gross on purpose" nihilism absurdity

>everybody saying that Joker should be assexual
I used ti think on that way, but them Dini drawed porn of Joker fucking Harley with both IN CHARACTER and having a blast with it, that made me accept that Joker might as well just be straight and just choose to not focus much on sex.
Jonathan Walker
No... There is one.
Blake Torres
I'd be down for that. Most villains are portrayed as gay anyway, DC may as well admit it. #GiveJokerABoyfriend
Bentley Lewis
Nahh, the Joker is better when shrouded in ambiguity and a surprising amount of people already seem to think he's gay so I really don't see the point. Plus it'd just end up making him more one note than he already is.
and Batjokes wouldn't be canon even if it were confirmed, kek.
Nolan Gonzalez
>in Gotham series The Penguin became gay without any problem If these fuckers start synergizing Oswald into his fagboi Gotham version someone is going to pay dearly
Hunter Harris
I see someone hasn't played the new episode. If you max out your relationship with him, he'll leave/betray Harley for Bruce and become a vigilante. I'm 100% serious.
Leo Johnson
What would making him gay even add to his character?
Andrew Powell
Lego joker was all about the complete set. The Ying and Yang. The Comedian and the Straight Man. Batman is the ultimate fall guy for the worst jokes and Joker had them in spades. It's like any good comedy duo, some of your best work comes from someone who knows your timing so well.
Brayden Brown
>gay people are murderous, insane gangster that push themselves into the spot light.
You're onto something here.
Aiden Miller
I have absolutely no faith in Telltale and doubt that either ending you get from that episode will make much of an impact over the overall story. Their track record is too shitty at this point.
Kevin Bennett
This dumb and gay. Literally.
Nathaniel Bell
It's because they know that deep down, we all love the villain more than the hero. The Hero may represent who we wish to be, but the villain is more like us, in that they represent what we desire to do but can't. Marvel's SJW/LGBT push on just the heroes show how stupid and short-sighted they really are. Because they make the villains one note punchlines representing their petty hate. Because in the end, a hero's only as good as its villain.
Aiden Sanchez
Wasn't he always? I don't think that Joker gives a damn about sex but he's totally gay for Batman. Not in a sexual way, something like Dio Brando and Jonathan Joestar gay respect.
Evan Brooks
...
Landon Collins
>Making the mentally ill character gay What did they mean by this?
Kayden Baker
of course you could please 10% of the readership and get an angry 90% that is not gay. Besides honestly it would ruin the characters since he would be just a fag.
Hudson Peterson
>Petition >Petition to make a fictional character gay
This brightened my day. As shitty as my life is at least I'm not this fucking pathetic.
Charles Rodriguez
And you wonder why people hate us.
Lucas Roberts
>portrayed as gay
Nope, he was interpreted for some people as gay but he has never been gay except for some idiot joke by Kevin Smith that was a retarded. Snyder exaggerated with the obsession thing but that was in 2011
Harley wasn't an attempt to erase some homosexuality, the writer invented a funny character and people back then shipped them easily, the writer was really good with couple jokes so it seemed a bright idea. Although it's true that the writer wanted to make Harley important since she was his personal OC and dedicated to his friend, (h)Arleen Sorkin
James Martinez
I could be a bit wrong, but I think maybe the guy didn't compare homosexuality to pedophilia? I think you might be exaggerating? You're a jackass.
Matthew Stewart
>The Penguin became gay without any problem Have you seen Gotham's Penguin? Him becoming gay was the least of what they did to butcher that character. Between this and the Outsider, Robin Taylor seems to just be born to play terrible incarnations of already established characters. The Joker isn't definitively gay or straight. That's the problem with having hundreds of writers all independantly write for a single IP over the years. Everyone has a different idea on where his character should go. Still, I don't see petitions to make Joker a mobster again. As much as I'd like that. Frank Miller and the likes may have given Joker fay or "homoerotic" traits, but the Joker wasn't created in the 80s. What about all the incarnations of the Joker before that, who may as well have been straight? Likewise, what about all the comics that came after Harley's debut in TAS? Even as recently as Death of the Family which, incidentally, is when I decided DC and Marvel were a load of shit characterize him similarly to The Dark Knight Returns. This petition is stupid and unnecessary. Nobody needs the Joker to represent them.
Sebastian Hall
>Have you seen Gotham's Penguin? >implying it even matters as to what it did for his character All that mattered to them was that Penguin and Riddler were gay for each other and that was it, and if you had a problem with it you were a homophobe >Between this and the Outsider, Robin Taylor seems to just be born to play terrible incarnations of already established characters Which is a shame because to me he felt like the only actor in Gotham that actually knew a thing or two about acting.
