English speaking nations were generally slower to create their own dubbing industries compared to the rest of the world, due to initial cultural dominance after WWII. It wasn't really until around the time of DB that they started to seriously dub shows, and at the time each country was kind of trying its own thing. That's also why there are scattered English dubbed episodes of Urusei Yatsura in both North American and British English.
