People say it's the same as G1 but I dunno it sounds a little bit more musical, or maybe it's just me.

The filter's probably the closest to G1 compared to recent years' (i.e. the WFC/FOC games etc).
It just sounds different because RID Soundwave says fairly long sentences at a faster pace, compared to G1.

It's not so much the microphones, moreso the vocoder settings.
