What exactly is Trump's beef with the environment? Did a renewable energy salesman insult his mother when he was a young man, or something? Every one of his economic policies so far has seems to have a provision who's sole purpose is to say "and also FUCK YOU climate scientists!"
Why is noone talking about the fact that he's obviously being a shill for the oil and coal industries?
he just wants to end the world, it is why i voted for him. with him as president our environment will go to shit and a mass extension of the human race will commence. Humans had this coming, we all deserve to die and trump is the one that will bring justice.
Aaron Morris
that's retarded
Christian Ramirez
Because climate scientists are hack frauds who have never been able to correctly predict anything. Thus necessitating a theory as flimsy as "climate change" so that any and all phenomenon can be blamed on human activity.
Carter White
Fuck the enviroment.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
You shitting your pants about trees and owls shows me that you doubt human ingenuity, but here we are conversing across a planet that one day I hope to leave behind.
Joshua Cooper
I don't give a fuck about the owls, I care about famine and out of control mass migration disasters. Plus, at a +6oC rise in ocean temps, oceanic algae will only be able to produce 1/3 their current oxygen levels, which will wipe out most life on the earth's surface
Michael Sullivan
Climate "scientists" are all full of shit and waste tons of money every year attempting to fix a "problem" they can't even prove exist. If we put all of that effort towards something worth a damn we would be much better off.
Elijah Phillips
The whole world is built on it. You attack it and the corps don't suffer they just lay off the bottom end and they find another loophole.
Worlds fucked man, it's literal last hope is God.
Jaxon Morgan
Just remember, Bill Nye isn't a real scientist, he just played one on TV. He's an engineer.
William Long
tell me what they have failed to properly predict
Joshua Garcia
>engineers aren't real scientists t. Sheldon Cooper
Adam Clark
This the number of times I get told the polar bears were going to be extinct is huge. Half these environmental fucks only care about cash and what ever one creature they decided is so much more "intelligent and like us than we will ever know"
Climate change may exist but it is overpopulation that is the real issue.
Levi Green
Putting climate change aside, is he likely to be friendly to developing nuclear/wind/solar? I would like to see our portfolio diversified, and make sure we don't fall behind technologically.
Levi Flores
Global cooling Global warming
Justin Lewis
the only policies that he's mentioned so far are removing oil/coal regulations and massively upgrading production of both
Jaxson Wright
that's why the name is "climate change." global warming is a meme that the media invented to sell the idea. while global average temperatures increase, shifting weather patterns result in some spots actually getting colder. it just means that other areas get hotter than these parts get colder
Luke Smith
>the same retarded lying media and kike ""academics"" who push every other retarded liberal idea are 100% behind renewables
>people here still think they are a good idea
what is the most politically incorrect forms of energy? coal and nuclear. by pure and complete coincidence those are also the best sources
hmm really activates my almonds
Logan Cook
He believes in natural parks and such, but Trump is prone to conspiracy. I bet if you poked him enough he'd say something about chemtrails
Trumps potential SoE is pro nuke so thats pretty based
Evan Wright
>down play global warming >oceans rise >drown out all liberal coastline shit holes
4d chess
Hunter Morales
Bill Nye is not a "real" scientist. I do not value his opinion on global warming or climate change any more than I would a psychologist or a computer programmer. If I need some shit engineered, you bet you ass I'll ask him for his insight. But on climate change? No thanks.
Justin Lopez
antinatalists everyone
Tyler Price
good point but i'm using the mainstream vernacular
Leo Gray
I honestly don't give a fuck. The left has shilled global warming so hard that I have to oppose it on principle just to screw over those self-righteous fucks. I'd rather live under a Christian theocracy.
John Hernandez
>downplay global warming >millions flee north from the equator to escape famine >the Wall is already built and ready was this his plan all along?
Joshua Wood
>reminder that no one needs the government to tell them to stop polluting >you only need personal initiative >no one has to force you to bike >no one has to force you to buy local >no one has to force you to be vegetarian >no one has to force you to install solar panels
The solution exists, regardless of legislation. If you truly believe, you can make that change.
Carson Jones
if this is true that would be great, but I really want Trump himself to say something. I'm tired of this OIL GOOD COAL GOOD meme from the oil company's mouths. It would be pretty embarrassing if fucking China of all places starts building more solar and nuke plants than we do
Joshua Thomas
As a scientist/mathematician who has obsessed over this, please go the extra mile and look at the data yourself, as well as how that data is collected. I promise you it won't take you long to see how little we really know about the mechanisms warming the globe, and how uncertain we are of how big a role humans play in it. For one, studies suggest the half-life of anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere is only a matter of weeks, based off measurements of man-made carbon isotopes.
Also most scientists (and I admit I was guilty of this) will flaunt their credentials and say OF COURSE the globe is warming. The truth is they're repeating what they heard their colleague say to fit in, and probably have no experience at all in climate.
Hope that helps.
Cameron Thomas
What's wrong with wanting to send coal miners back to work? What's wrong with wanting to give oil riggers jobs? Why do you hate America OP?
Samuel Hall
The technology for clean energy simply isn't there yet. Trump doesn't hate the environment, he just realizes that there should be a free market solution instead of wasting tax money on placating a bunch of hippy environmentalists. We don't even have enough materials to make the amount of solar panels that would make a difference, and mining for the materials would cause even more damage to the environment. The only viable source of energy besides fossil fuels is nuclear, which environmentalists also bitch about.
Aaron Morris
Where are these environmentalists who bitch about nuclear
Anthony Lee
reminder that the entirety of economics is based around utility, costs, and profit -- and these companies want to maximize utility by minimizing costs and maximizing profits, which puts them fundamentally opposed to any regulation, at all.
This is why we make them laws with stringent fines if they try to ignore them -- otherwise, they simply wouldn't follow them.
Carter Lee
Fukushima
Henry Long
Peddle your meme science somewhere else.
Kayden Nelson
>noone
Dummy
Logan Young
well would they rather have deepwater horizons happening every couple of years, or a fukushima happening statistically never?
Adam Mitchell
No shit, Sup Forums seriously is not as redpilled as it should be that we're in a tech race with China in a lot of areas and it freaks me out a little.
Nicholas Bell
>MUH ENVIRONMENT IS TRADITIONALLY THE LIBERAL HIPPY SHIT HE OPPOSES WITH HIS ANTI-PC STANCE
WE LET CHINA REK THE ENVIRONMENT BUT WE HAVE TO STOP?
BULLSHIT, ITS A SELF IMPOSED COMPETITIVE DISADVANTAGE AND LOST PROFITS FOR MURRICA
He's taking the money away to help us escape the future apocalypse
Daniel Hill
who says that we have to stand back and let china destroy the environment? why can't we also make them stop as well?
Bentley Butler
Seriously? Because you are a child moron to think you can 'make' China do anything just because you think it's the right thing to do.
Nicholas Wood
>Trump says he hates the environment >Trump gets elected >This provokes more discussion on climate change than ever before, with people now taking action against climate change just to spite the president >mfw this was his plan all along
5D HYPERCHESS
Chase Perez
how effective could the private sector even be when faced against big oil and coal?
Camden Hill
green energy costs a fortune. to build the infrastructure and the low output would make a significant increase to the cost of electricity.
Dominic Peterson
>Global warming is bullshit and you know it.
Samuel Rivera
This is actually the only thing that genuinely concerns me about him. But I think we have bigger problems to solve at the moment. We had a liberal president for 8 years who did jack shit about the environment.
Juan Scott
"Green Energy" is a huge moneymaker for the Jews and climate change is complete bullshit.
Plus trump support the petro dollar.
Look at the bigger picture.
Tyler Roberts
He actually cares about shit like clean air. He's anti-pollution at any rate.
Aaron Campbell
Because environmentalism endgame is genocide, they're anti human
Carson King
The problem is there's a distribution of severity of hazards and associated risks that comes with any given set of policies. Would you be willing to promote coal energy if there were a 20% chance on catastrophic runaway climate change sterilizing ecosystems within the next few centuries? To me it seems like a small sacrifice to make to have assurance we don't fuck ourselves over in ways we might not imagine in a few generations. The rhetoric of coal producing new jobs is nice and won him votes but I'm not so certain it will even do that much for the economy in the long term.
Brandon Ross
That's how you solve climate change. 90% of the population needs to die. However, climate change is set to kill 100% of people.
Not much different.
Christian Lee
He said he's in favor of all forms of energy, basically anything that gets us to being energy independent. Dunno what you want specifically.
Eli Carter
At this point I think climate change is inevitable. If we had the will to change then change would have happened by now.
I think we need to steel ourselves to the coming crises. We will be fine, we're a rich first world country and we can afford to throw money at the problems until they're fixed. If our current farmland shits itself we can move our agricultural industries somewhere else and keep importing food, because we have the money and technology to do that. If we get storm surges we can build dykes.
The real issue is the vast unwashed masses who cannot afford this, and who are slated to starve and die. They will hate us, and they will not go quietly. The single most important thing that we can do is ensure that we have total control of our borders and we have the will to impose that control no matter how much suffering it causes.
A great die-off is coming.
Benjamin Cox
>If we had the will
Uh, we did user. It was called the Paris Agreement, and it's fucking gone, along with any hope for the entire fucking state of Louisiana not to disappear under the water, now that the president plans on sucking out oil like an obese kid with a McDonalds milkshake.
Jordan Baker
From a business POV it's not possible for American industry to compete with places like China when one side has to limit itself due to climate policy/regulations.
>If we had the will to change then change would have happened by now.
Necessity is the mother of invention. We won't get serious until a good chunk of the human race dies.
John Thompson
A few hundred years ago people were wiping their asses with rocks and complaining about the volcano monster eating towns. Today we're complaining that the world is going to end because we're heating it up as we move hundreds of miles an hour in the sky. In a few hundred years those space faggots are going to be laughing at us for using toilet paper and thinking we were going to end the world for getting two ply.
