Go away, Dobson.

It wasn’t political back then.

it was a different time

white dudes werent so sensitive, and they looked up to guys like Wesley Snipes and Will Smith

Was this movie R rated?

This nigga always looked like a low-poly PS1 character model upressed.

He was a chad, that's why.

To be fair, I think 80% of the "whining" is against the marketing and the stupid statements made about the movie ("This is what Africa would look like without colonialism"), not the movie itself.

I'm fine with the movie itself and think it looks good. I also wish death about everyone promoting the movie. See the difference?

white men weren't fucking blamed for everything either. nowadays BLM, metoo, you fucking name it, some oppressed perpetual victim olympics cohort is whining about how aggrieved they are in the wealthiest and most technologically advanced society in the history of the world.

>introduced himself as blade and only answered to that name
>tried to strangle the director after a disagreement over a shirt
>only showed up to do close-ups
>genuinely believed that he didn't have to pay taxes
why was wesley snipes so based

Y'all crackers need to stop taking faggy blogposts and shitty opinion pieces so seriously. Just ignore that crap like the rest of us do.

Yeah like you niggers actually dont believe in it too lmao

I bet that you 2 are beaners

The persecution complex is strong within this one. I sense he donates to Sargon and Richard Spencer.

you wish, towelhead chink

So do ethnic slurs just work like Mad Libs these days?

>in the wealthiest
A few years ago, you had 50 millions people without healthcare insurance. Some people still loose everything when they get seriously ill. Let's say wealthiest doesn't mean much when a big part of the population of your country don't see a lot of it.

That's because mass entertainment wasn't so thoroughly fucking politicized then. Watching Blade was not presented as a statement of any kind, it was just a movie that happened to have a black protagonist, and people were allowed to like or dislike it freely with no implication that it's somehow _improved_ by the blackness or that you're a racist if you dislike it. Furthermore, Snipes never climbs on a soapbox and shouts KILL WHITEY BLACK LIVES MATTER AND NO OTHERS DO, he's just fucking up vampires and cracking one-liners and trying to put on the best show he can. That's all I expect. I expect to not be preached at, and not be blamed for the world's fucking problems when I had nothing to do with any of them.

Personal accountability. Way too many make irrational decisions. Trying to buy houses on minimum wage. Not going to school but buying $200 shoes and brand new cars. You can't fix stupid, and I don't feel sorry for them.

Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill.

THIS
The Hollyweird kike SJW feminist liberal agenda shoehorns shit in and forces divershitty. I loved the Blade movies, and I gave not one solid fuck he was black. Today, EVERYTHING is politicized.

>boo hoo, i'm a poor little white boy and people are mean to me.

Welcome to the world of the black man, dude

Sup Forums didn't exist in the 90's
Everyone else in this thread besides me is dumb

>things weren't political back then

Were you fucking alive in the '90s? We're talking about the decade that produced the Rodney King and OJ Simpson incidents for fuck's sake. Racial tensions were higher than ever. I guarantee that if social media existed back then there would be no difference.

What are you, 15? Literally nothing has changed in terms of race relations, the only difference is that internet makes it more in your face. Do you really think black people weren't very excited about Blade being black? If so, youre an idiot

Pretty much this. When Blade one and two came out, there was no "FINALLY A MOVIE FOR US!". There were black heroes/leads around, and in movies.

It's so weird that the black community is shitting itself over Black Panther.

This board is for 18+. You're either too young or too moronic to know the impact Blade had

It feels more like shills than liberals to be honest, people trying to pretend that MCU is changing anything by making a black superhero movie when we already got a dozen of those and 2 of them being huge sucesses(Blade and Hancock)

Just like people who pretend that MCU is not a X-men movies universe rip off

not everyone here is american lad

Blade isn't a superhero

Majority of the idiots complaining weren't even born is why

Blade
>Dude hunts vampires (also he just so happens to be black)
Black Panther
>BLACK movie with BLACK actors in a BLACK country that's SUPERIOR to WHITE countries and BLACK people are SMARTER and STRONGER and BETTER than WHITES because they are KINGS and QUEENS and PHARAOHS and living GODS and don't you forget they are fucking BLACK and BEAUTIFUL and you should pay reparations
Gee I dunno they're really the same movie when you think about it

You realize that entire premise and setting was created by Lee and Kirby right?

Let's here you say that when some UV dodg'n blood sucker has your mother bent over a kitchen table and he's tak'n bites out of her like she's a Sunday dinner?

Then why comment on the AMERICAN black community?

>kike SJW feminist liberal agenda

>This board is for 18+. You're either too young or too moronic to know the impact Blade had

Fuck you. I was there and I saw what the climate was. It was not this bullshit era we're living now, where the literal most important feature of ANYTHING is how many blacks and browns and women and homos and transsexuals it has, and all the actually important parts of the story are considered irrelevant at best and distracting from the message of inclusiveness at worst. And no, it's not the fucking "alt-right" or the Russians or whatever bogeyman you're using today doing it, all of that is a backlash against that fucking shit.

I lived that era. NOTHING of this sort happened back then. It was literally not a thing.

>Personal accountability.

No, it's stagnant wages and being forced to do two jobs just to afford to pay rent and food while the rich and corporations are given tax breaks and legal loop holes to hide their money and income unequality is worse than ever. Literally half the country can't handle an unexpected emergency situation that requires 400 dollars because they live from hand to mouth. Even people with decent income can get their life ruined by simple disease because their insurance won't cover the treatment.

Of course not, they were like 3 years old at best

Because nobody who browses Sup Forums today was even born yet

What I mean is Blade doesn't do what he does to help people, its more about killing vampires to make himself feel good because they represent everything he hates, and by extension himself. Sure, its a good cause, but the good is purely coincidental. It's kind of like The Punisher

There was discrimination in the 90's

Racism didn't just magically pop out of nowhere 3 years ago

I've always wondered if that poster has a badly airbrushed/early CG render of Blade, instead of a photo. I don't remember ever being able to tell, but it sure doesn't look like a real photo. And why the hell wouldn't they just use a photo?

cerra el culo, blanco pelotudo. Me tenes harto con tus agendas politicamente correctas. Me chupan la verga tus argumentos de mierda.

You're responding to your own rhetoric at this point, because I never said they are the same. So yes, you must be some teen who wasn't actually around for Blade, or an idiot who didn't know any black people.

You must have lived in a fucking cardboard box, too busy looking at your finger paintings made with your own dung to notice the outside world. You *really* think these issues just popped the fuck out of nowhere? Are you really that dense? Or were you so isolated from the outside world that you've decided to make believe it was all dandy, and black people didn't care about having a badass central character in a top budget, GOOD movie?

Yeah, but the original premise for Wakanda was that they were a primitive country until The Black Panther began to sell minute amounts of the Viburnum and used the acquired fortune to give himself a top education, acquire advanced technology, and bring Wakanda into the modern World. The idea that Wakanda was always advanced is a recent retcon (from Reginald Hudlin, I think).

You realise that we're all a massive part of the problem as to why everything's so fucking politicised these days, right?

I'm not talking about solely the alt-right or Sup Forums or even SJWs, I'm talking about the normal people who don't want to be a part of this and the fact that no one will shut the fuck up about this shit and continues to fuel the burning pile of dogshit that is political discourse in 2016-2018. We need to stop having threads like these and realise that our needless 2 cents makes no difference; all it does is further these useless, tedious discussions that are not fun for anyone and achieve nothing full of things that other anons have already said a million ties and are continually ruining the whole site. Politics don't even fucking matter unless you're in a voting booth yet it seems like all anyone has been able to talk about for the past 2 years is this shit. I'm not even a burger and I'm so tired of it. It's fucked the internet up something bad.

So we can all either shut the fuck up and claim our board back or let it get sucked even further into this hole that we're digging ourselves and just bend over and accept Sup Forums taking over every board. We can all either choose to play their game even though we don't want to and politicise every piece of media that's released or we can ignore it all and go back to just enjoying or disliking things like normal for regular reasons. It's all of our choices. Make the right one.

Blade is a superhero?

>the people who want nothing to do with identity politics are the problem behind identity politics
hurr

Yeah seriously
Even in poverty people still cash their wellfare checks on smartphones and flat screen tvs.

Nah, he's more of a Buffy groupie stuck in the Marvel universe

Some niggaz always tryin' to ice skate uphill

wish this gets a movie

>it wasn't political
yeah, I wish they didn't make Black Panther the king of his own nation just for the movie

He predates Buffy by 20 years.

stop being a fucking nigger and just enjoy the movie

It was the only vampire hunter thing I could think of

Why is this version of revisionist history so angering to people though? It seems pretty positive

never heard of it, but he's already my favorite black comic hero

so guts if he was black?

Most of the people on Sup Forums complaining about them now weren't even alive in the 90s.

>y'all

basically, the creator does know Kentaro Miura

No, youre just a delusional retard.

The 90s had many black films with black charachters and black culture in them.

Ask a black person older than 28 who doesnt write a blog or post twitters about it sometime.

I like how seriously you took my reply.

CONFUSION CONFUSION CONFUSION CONFUSION

Because your faggotry is spreading beyond America's borders.

>it's not my fault I can't into saving money
>it's the corporations that force me to eat out every day, to buy dem shoes, and a brand new car and dat flat scree HDTV and muh cable/Internet and brand new iPhone and designer clothes!

This f am

if you aren't turned on to politics, politics will turn on you

the correct response is that identity politics divides people along lines of alienated labor in a capitalist system and the only answer is class consciousness and solidarity.

"shut up and ignore everything" is a weak willed copout. Sup Forums isn't going to stop. leftists didn't have the luxury of ignoring things in the 1930s when the nazis shot them, or the when the CIA shot them, or when proxy militias shot them... wake the fuck up. your choice is definitely the wrong one if you think ignoring everything is anything close to responsible adult behavior.

it's a convenient contraction, shitstain.

language changes. ask shakespeare.

White people are more racist now than ever. Uncle Billy shouldn't have stopped with Georgia

Back then the character's race wasn't really brought up unless it was a one off scene (see Blade 2's "can you blush?" scene). I mean look at the predator films: We went from having the Governator as the protagonist fighting in the jungles of Columbia to Danny Glover in the concrete jungle and no one batted a fucking eye because the race of the characters were a non-factor. These days everyone wants to try and make the character's race/gender/sexual preference the defining trait to push into your fucking face every ten seconds rather than a detail that beyond a specific circumstance is just fluff. I couldn't give two shits if one day wolverine decided to be a raging homosexual so long as it didn't eclipse the snikt bubbing and manlet rage that makes him who he is as a character.

does he also put his work on year long hiatus' ?

>turning a character black
if the whole universe is changed i could care less

>making that character suck cock
thats where i draw the line.

Race relations have definitely taken a nosedive since the 90's. Anybody here remember Red Dwarf? It was a British sitcom set in deep space. There were only 4 regular cast members and it never really occurred to me tat the MC and one of the others was black, because the show never drew attention to it. We'e that show to be made these days it would be getting praised for being progressive and diverse

I can comfortably say I'm not happy with race or sexuality changes and that its the calling card of a lazy hack. And I can comfortably say this because of this piece of fucking garbage

So long as it remains entirely innocuous outside of a one off incident I can't see it being all that important desu. It's when you fling it at my face at like an ape flinging its shit at Mach 12 that the problems start for me. The concept of character swaps isn't even all that new nor has the response changed since started: Make the comic good, make the character not shit, don't shove the new character's indentity in our face nonstop. Back then comic producers actually listened to this and just about everyone was happier for it.

>We went from having the Governator as the protagonist fighting in the jungles of Columbia to Danny Glover in the concrete jungle and no one batted a fucking eye because the race of the characters were a non-factor.

You forgot the part where L.A. was in the middle of a giant gang war and one of the parties involved was a hyperbolic depiction of Voodoo practising Haitian gang bangers.

If you dont think it has gotten worse the past decade then YOU are the one whos retarded

And this affected who the protagonist was how exactly? At best it *potentially* helped get Danny's character an audience with King Willy alongside the ofference of favors and nothing more. The gangs and their behavior were nothing more than background flavoring that gave the Predator a place to be introduced.

Fun fact Blade started the entire phenomenon of Comic book movies being taken seriously
I mean yeah we had Superman/Batman before this, but everything else was low budget as fuck like the old Nick Fury movie

So they didn't have to focus on the race of Glover's character when they were already making a bombastic and stereotypical racial depiction of the Haitian gang.

Why do we allow sheltered pampered faggots to post here? Goddamn, I remember when this site was edgy instead of parroting grandpa who doesn't even know what inflation means

Black Panther is a big, over hundred million dollar budget Hollywood blockbuster movie with almost entirely black cast. Blade was a relatively small budget, R-rated cult movie that managed to get popular despite people dismissing comic book movies as hokey and childish. Can you spot the difference? And Blade isn't a superhero. He's a guy hunting vampires because his momma was killed by one and he's pissy about it. He spends the entire movie just trying to get Frost who killed his mother and more by accident ends up saving the world in the process.

>t. Was born in 1999
We all know how this works, "90s kid"

Blade didn't have a message of white guilt. He was just an ass kicking vampire slayer who happens to be black.

You kiddies need to get the fuck over Berserk and check out all the other edgy tough guy manga for a change
This whining about hiatus shit is so fucking tiresome

But Blade was only hunting vampires because a white dude killed his mom.

So you hate Black people and rednecks? Nice. I bet youre a real pleasant person

There wasn't a tumblr pretending whitey is upset about Black Panther back in the day.
Nobody cares, after BP does well in the box office they'll change their tune to whitey being evil because they fetishize niggas and that's why BP did well, not because people can actually like a black man in a heroic role.

If you were any kind of minority you'd know who the real racists are by now.

the rodney king riots reignited and showed how bad things where still

As someone who was actually alive in the 90s, white dudes feeling angry for poorly expressed reasons is not a new phenomenon.

Was hunting vamps or whitey, user?

>metoo
>just white men

Predominantly white vampires.

It's almost like you can't get people to set aside their racial differences by constantly calling attention to those differences.
Really bonks my clonkers.
I want Sup Forums to leave.

LOL at pampered faggot. How about no. I grew up poor, worked hard, went to college, then grad school, and worked my way up the corporate ladder to a six figure salary. I'm supposed to feel sorry for lazy niggers and white gutter trash and weeboos who just want socialism so my hard-earned wealth can be transferred to them? No thanks kiddo. I love comics and enjoy it recreationally, but have no love lost for SJW/BLM/feminism/modern degeneracy.

And you just posted the reason why.
