You want unpopular on Sup Forums? I'll give you unpopular on Sup Forums:
>shows like Motorcity and Sym-Bionic Titan literally had near-zero effort put into the writing >shows like SVTFOE and WOY literally have near-zero effort put into basically everything >OTGW is extremely unsettling to watch, not in a good way, and also obnoxiously pretentious >Samurai Jack season 5 was mostly terrible but mostly not due to Ashi or the episode limit >the Book 2 ending screwed up ATLA Book 3, and Ehasz's writing is superior but overrated >Kim Possible season 4 was fucking great, and Drakken and Shego is an excellent ship >the DCAU is ludicrously overrated, and The Batman is better than TAS in a number of ways >Teen Titans is the best capeshit cartoon ever made by far, and the anime humor is wonderful >Spectacular Spider-Man and Weisman's writing in general are ridiculously overrated >Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated fixes the franchise but drops the ball HARD in the finale >the GF finale and season 2b overall were fucking great except for a few minor nitpicks >W.I.T.C.H. is a near-flawless masterpiece and far better than the comics and also most anime
Oh, and in general: all toon artstyles are strictly inferior to anime style, but anime itself is virtually unwatchable for non-weebs. Also, almost all storyboard-driven cartoons are trash.
Jack Morgan
ELsa, Anna, and rapunzel are all overrated.
Chase Rogers
Yeah, everybody knows that this is you, GFfag
Evan Hernandez
WitchFag doesn’t even try to hide himself anymore
NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR OPINIONS, STOP MAKING THREADS
Chase Foster
>unpopular opinions >implying that that is not the 70% of Sup Forums
Juan Ross
>W.I.T.C.H. is a near-flawless masterpiece and far better than the comics and also most anime
Another Witchfag thread. Why am I not surprised?
Austin Barnes
Politics in comics and cartoons are absolutely fine. It's just people are so thin-skinned nowadays they can't stand their political preferences being made fun of.
Jack Jenkins
Coco and Inside Out are two of Pixar's most generic films and I genuinely don't understand how anyone can be moved to tears by such stock characters and telegraphed moments
Caleb Gonzalez
I want political cartoons. Not this half-skinned "cartoons with political messages" bullshit everyone is going for. Go full politics or bust
Ryder Bailey
>nowadays
Try "since forever". Remember, the most common critique about capeshit and other action funny books is that they show that might makes right
Josiah Myers
Yeah sure, but I don't want to talk about Trump all day. You know?
Hudson Lopez
witchfag please
Carson Miller
>shows like Motorcity and Sym-Bionic Titan literally had near-zero effort put into the writing >shows like SVTFOE and WOY literally have near-zero effort put into basically everything >OTGW is extremely unsettling to watch, not in a good way, and also obnoxiously pretentious >Samurai Jack season 5 was mostly terrible but mostly not due to Ashi or the episode limit >the Book 2 ending screwed up ATLA Book 3, and Ehasz's writing is superior but overrated >Kim Possible season 4 was fucking great, and Drakken and Shego is an excellent ship >the DCAU is ludicrously overrated, and The Batman is better than TAS in a number of ways >Spectacular Spider-Man and Weisman's writing in general are ridiculously overrated >Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated fixes the franchise but drops the ball HARD in the finale >the GF finale and season 2b overall were fucking great except for a few minor nitpicks >W.I.T.C.H. is a near-flawless masterpiece and far better than the comics and also most anime
So you felt like writing bait today? Actually I feel the same, I'll join you.
>Megas XLR is mainly loved by a bunch of closet weeaboos with nothing to do but shitpost about how cartoons should be more like anime >The Legend of Korra creates a far more interesting setting than the vastly overused east asian influence of the original series >Older Simpsons episodes used cheap tactics to attempt to sway emotion and receives a massive amount of praise from people because they were children when it aired and have never looked back at it from even a slightly critical perspective >Steven Universe is an interesting take on sci-fi and fantasy combining the best elements of the two and leaving out the rest. The crew constantly creates some of the most emotionally moving scenes in recent media and are only disliked by those who would rather be outraged on the internet than actually watch and understand the show >OP is not a faggot >OP isn't WITCHfag finding an excuse to shitpost again
Joseph Watson
Teen Titans GO is better than weeb Titans in every way
Benjamin Perry
Half of the bottom ones are true tho
Mason Powell
I find Chris Niosi’s TOME series to be competently made and a little ambitious
>the GF finale and season 2b overall were fucking great except for a few minor nitpicks GFag spotted
Asher Martinez
Nothing like a good old-fashioned bait thread, eh Sup Forums?
Nicholas Parker
>W.I.T.C.H. is a near-flawless masterpiece and far better than the comics and also most anime That was close, for a second there I was almost going to respect your different opinions.
Joshua Powell
>DO NOT WATCH W.I.T.C.H. My sides are in fucking orbit right now
Jacob Wright
>Liking B.L.A.C.K.E.D.
Ryder Hall
>The Batman is the worst Batman show that was held down by ludicrous amounts of Btawank and had the single worst design and voice actor for Joker >The Brave and the Bold is the best Batman show behind only the Adam west version >Bruce Timm is a hack but Batman and Superman The Animated Series are still better than most shows put out afterwards in writing and animation quality, The Batman included. >That being said, he butchered the Justice League and consistently put out shitty redesigns and re-imaginings of characters. Unlimited just barely managed to make up for it.
Ayden Hill
Fifty-Two is trash. It's a preview for all the excesses of the true Dark Age of comics >characters "re-imagined" as minorities >White male characters killed off and replaced by minority successors >bringing back obscure or 90s characters to kill them off in an attempt to create tension >previously harmless/silly characters turned into edgy overpowered threats
>he butchered the Justice League and consistently put out shitty redesigns and re-imaginings of characters I'm with you on that.
Jacob Ramirez
You know I used to like W.I.T.C.H
I don't think any of those are unpopular except Justice League
Jonathan Hughes
>The Land Before Time sequels are some of the best straight-to-DVD animated films ever made for their target demographic >Scrappy Doo saved the Scooby Doo franchise in the long run and doesn't deserve the hate he gets Fight me
Angel Nguyen
Ok.
Kanaya Maryam was a boring and obnoxious character since the whole beginning.
Andrew Russell
South Park is still good and I am excited for the new season
Julian Bell
I'm sad this is unpopular
Jacob Young
South Park has always been the best adult comedy cartoon out there.
Colton Martinez
How is this unpopular, seasons 17-21, skipping 20 of course, are really good.
Lincoln Morales
You know what despite him being witchfag he does have some reasonable points.
>Scooby dio m.i dropped the ball hard in the finale I agree somewhat. I thought the world ending and the consequences were good but thought how they defeated the monster was shit. I do however like how in the new timelines they all seemingly had the lives they wanted but couldn't enjoy it since it wasn't actually their lives so they left because only they understood what had happened.
>DCAU is overrated I think this can go on a show by show basis but generally a lot of people adore Batman tas. it had some fantastic episodes but I would say 2/3 of it isn't that great and definitely aged horribly. Superman tas overall was better imo. > teen titans best cape show ever I don't know if it's my personal favorite but I can't off the top of my head name one that is definitely better > the Batman is better than tas in a lot of ways I agree there too. it did it's own thing and some of it worked and some didn't. the joker was weird but I thought he was still pretty good. plus I loved the atmosphere, music, and voices and I'm surprised it doesn't get more love
Sebastian Powell
The phrase "zombie south park" is real here and the ratings are honestly pathetic. Mostly sad that it has fallen out of favour in popular culture.
Jaxson Foster
I feel there are two reasons for this. Everyone's dropping cable, and the show is only on for 10 episodes.
Jonathan Edwards
Thunderbirds Are Go>NuDucktales And... let's say W.I.T.C.H
Kayden Thompson
Fuck it, here's mine. >CGI and puppet animaton aren't inherently bad or lower quality than frame by frame.
I find your descent into madness entertaining. I sincerely hope you don't get permapanned.
William Price
Ren and Stimpy is overrated as fuck. The animation is nice but that's all. John K is an animator, not a writer.
Oliver Harris
>all of that ridiculously shit taste >witchfag definitely checks out
Andrew Gray
Love and Rockets sucks.
Daniel Phillips
Sup Forums and Sup Forums are the only boards worth visiting anymore
Fetishfags are fucking annoying and are basically telling everyone that they're virgins because nobody who has had sex would be so autistic about it to so many strangers
Nobody cares about indie or yuropoors comics so stop pretending you're intellectual for reading them
Jordan Thomas
mine: Gravity Falls and Star vs. are fun, but don't have anything of substance. Nothing interesting. No particularly well-written characters. Weak stories. This is why I think Steven Universe, for all its faults, is a better show. There was a few times while watching SU that I was genuinely impressed by the writing...which is more than I can say for the former.
Matthew Stewart
Your unpopular opinions are all fucking weak, let me show, now watch and learn.
I absolutely, hated Chowder, Flapjack, Ren & Stimpy and I never understood the reasoning behind everyone kissing the ass of these, they were all terribly written grossout filler shows, the styles also never appealed to me, in Chowder it was the weird kaleidoscopic backgrounds that either moved or didn't when the character moved which I noticed a lot and made me dizzy quite often and in Flapjack it was the absolutely terrifing everything (fuck that scene with the cat specially) and shit color palletes. I do wonder how many people actually have seen this recently and how many see it with nostalgia glasses because of old memories just like some people see HiHi Puffy AmiYumi.
Also I genuinely thought there were no great cartoons before Spongebob came out, outside of the Simpsons.
Caleb Stewart
I find Coco insulting, and I'm part of the Mexican audience that Disney wanted to nab. The fucking tearjerking bait makes me sick. They do it so damn much that I cannot take their movies seriously anymore.
Cameron Robinson
Outside of the last two not a single thing in your post is untrue.
Camden Wright
diversity is good for comics.
Josiah Nguyen
Old FOP is better than old Spongebob
Aaron Powell
I agree with this across all media, but why does diversity only extend to including black people?
Hunter Walker
>SU written good at all Rebecca has hardly any ideas and she pads them out forever, the townies aren't interesting and the humor has gotten stale, I was hoping Steven manning up to Pearl in that ep would've been the start of maturity but he somehow regressed and the next time he manned up he got told off by his bitchy girlfriend and now they have to fuse whenever a fight happens.
Angel Ortiz
>not liking waffles
Evan Nguyen
But user, that's just the normalfag opinion.
Christian Powell
>The asskissing the Disney Renaissance gets is abso-fucking-lutely unmerited. Only about a quarter is actually god-tier, and at least a third is downright garbage propped up by brand image and nostalgia. While I can respect the work the animators put in, looking at the stellar writing of early Pixar films it’s no wonder they killed 2D animation in America >capeshit is a cancer on comics, and the day that capeshit comics die and become entirely cinema based will be like a second death of the CCA >the future of Sup Forums belongs to Tumblr and it’s our fault. The social death of deviantart, youtube killing Newgrounds animation, the content regurgetation of Reddit all helped, but it is ultimately the culture of hostility and faggotry on Sup Forums that killed the last shred of hope for independent creative artist communities on the internet not directly indebted to far left circles. Patreon may alleviate the pain but we know you retards don’t pay for shit >the net ban on cartoon generals is killing Sup Forums, directing traffic to the furry board leaving the board open to more Sup Forums crossposting. If waifufaggotry is the price we must pay to keep this board clean of porn spam and black panther bait threads so fucking be it >2000s deepest lore action cartoons are absolutely overrated on Sup Forums
Michael Jackson
How would you rank the Renaissance films?
Jason Johnson
Avengers EMH is better than xmen TAS
Nathaniel Gutierrez
Who are you, and how can we be friends? (Not joking.)
David Morgan
Rebirth is cancer.
Liam Myers
you guys are a bunch of assholes.
Jack Harris
Why did you remove the Teen Titans one?
Alexander Richardson
Steven Universe would be better if it was The Pearl Show because she's the most interesting character.
Dominic Robinson
>filler shows what? Do you even know what filler means?
Jeremiah Phillips
>t. comicsfag who has no clue about the cartoon but probably hates it anyways
Ryder Gonzalez
Fairy Oddparents had some great jokes, use of slapstick and running gags that were on par if not better than Spongebob. Stuff like a cock exploding for no reason, a random close-up on Jorgen's perfectly shaped ass, the fact that Wanda recieved as much slapstick as Cosmo, every line that came out of Mr Turner's mouth and those jokes that only adults get (like Crocker various lines about teachers having shitty paychecks), those things made the show. Then everything went to shit with the dumbass movies, which seems to be a trend among Nick shows (although Hey Arnold broke the curse...for now)
Eli Hernandez
>Mulan: Absolutely the peak of Disney’s storytelling during the 90’s. Thematically consistent, a quality band of facinating characters, an actually threatening (if not bland) villain, and a kickass soundtrack >Aladdin: Tied with Mulan honestly. Better songs, but the story starts to lose me a bit when the stakes get a bit too high near the end. >Lion King: The last “inarguably” quality Renaissance film. Weirdly enough it’s the least Disney-esque movies that come up the best
“Decent” >Hercules: Gets really close to being quality but the tone is too wonky and the story not quite gutsy enough to really work as a traditional Disney Film. You can really feel how they go on later to inspire shit like Emperor >Hunchback: There’s so much to love, but there are too many absolutely retarded decisions made to really put it any higher >Tarzan - Kinda like Hercules, but with even more weird decisions and wacky tone that wasn’t quite committed to the irreverence that defines the Disney post-renaissance era.
Shit: >Mermaid, Beast, and fucking Pocahontas, three films that have honestly the best execution and charm of the Renaissance, but absolutely lack the same storytelling strength. Their protags lack that same raw patheos that makes the films at the top of the list so damn memorable, and when the charm wears off I find all three just really don’t hold up in the same way
As far as raw talent goes the Renaissance was hard to beat, but when it comes right down to it no matter how hard you polish it if the storytelling ain’t there the storytelling ain’t there. Pixar told stories people gave a shit about.
Elijah Ramirez
This isn’t a conteversial opinion, it’s fact. Pearl is the most interesting SU character, and if the show were centered around her perspective with not a single change SU would be leagues better.
Justin Sanchez
"The Book of Life" has great art direction, but the writing is obnoxious and commits nearly every sit that a kid's movie can.
also comparing TBoL to Coco because they're both about Day of the Dead is like comparing Shark Tale and Finding Nemo because they're both about fish
Jason Edwards
Whoo boy talk about shit taste
Juan Jones
This board is full of a lot of genuinely nice and fun people who get drowned out by the assholes.
Luke Russell
Agreed. She has the most emotional complexity and the best defined motivations.
Nathan White
>modern cartoons are nearly all unwatchable garbage >if a show needs a certain amount of episodes before it becomes worth watching then it isn't worth watching (looking at you SU and Star Vs) >Ladybug is the only good western magical girl show >Sup Forums would improve a hundred fold if there was a complete ban on all live action content
There, how's that for unpopular?
Liam Nguyen
>I hate Futurama. It felt like a diet version of the Simpsons and none of the characters besides Bender or the Professor really stood out >Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner were the absolute weakest of the recurring Looney Tunes. It completely lacks any of the variety of the others. Them apparently being a parody of chase cartoons only makes me think it was a joke stretched out too long >As much as I actually like Steven Universe, I have never been a fan of the songs, and it's not even a genre thing >Gumball has gotten completely stale, and it has little to do with politics; the SJW scene was equally as wretched as the Trump caricature they did >Hugh Neutron is the single greatest cartoon character ever and nobody can tell me otherwise >I unironically believe the "Mighty finding his sister" arc from Sonic Universe to be one of the greatest comic arcs, or at least from a personal standpoint >the last great Pixar film was Ratatouille
Logan King
>>Samurai Jack season 5 was mostly terrible but mostly not due to Ashi or the episode limit It sounds like you rewrote normal unpopular opinions to be contrarian opinions only held by some highly articulate Bizarro.
Ian Garcia
>modern cartoons are nearly all unwatchable garbage >if a show needs a certain amount of episodes before it becomes worth watching then it isn't worth watching (looking at you SU and Star Vs) >Sup Forums would improve a hundred fold if there was a complete ban on all live action content You were so close, user. So fucking close...
Blake Harris
Mabel was a jerk but she’s hardly as bad as Sup Forums makes her out to be.
Easton Smith
It's been a while since I watched. Just out of curiosity, what were some of those sins?
Landon Nguyen
I'm really glad you two see that.
James Sanders
Or... maybe I've already explained that very point, because someone else asked me to:
Sebastian Bennett
Hey arnold was just an okay show and not the masterpiece 90s kids gas it up
t. 90s kid
Carson Howard
I think Sup Forums making her out to be so bad is in response to the show and most of the fandom treating her like a perfect little angel
Brody Myers
It's still good but Matt and Trey need to learn how to write an ending.
Christian Bailey
Counterpoint: she wasn't a jerk at all, but the finale could've done a bit (and only a bit) more to make her feel bad about what she'd done.
Brody Rivera
>mudwashing is good >Braun
Tthis post bleeds soy
Grayson Jones
>Stan complains that Ford literally created the end of the world >Mabel is NEVER even brought up for the rift shit yes, he was the base of the problem but Mabel literally did the main deed and no one even knew, and they went out of their way to have the characters think she DIDN'T (the rift must've cracked in her backpack!!)
for fuck sakes
Evan Baker
At least make her feel guilty for it. I mean, from her perspective it would've looked like it was all her fault that the world was ending
Dominic Stewart
At this point I'm pretty sure they went out of their way to never address it. I don't know why, though
Carson Price
>W.I.T.C.H. is even remotely good >Spectacular Spider-Man, TAS, and Sym-Bionic Titan are bad
Matthew Wilson
I feel Korra's setting had more potential to be intresting but completly fucking dropped it with the only intresting parts being the air temple and the zaofu. Making cool concept art is the easiest part.
Brayden Evans
There's just a lot more to appreciate.
e.g. gem physiology, hard light bodies surrounding a gem "brain." Each gem type / character has a specific BGM. They can combine their physical forms with other gems to create an entirely new individual, and the stability depends on their relationship. Damaging their gem will make their form unstable. Death is almost impossible. Even if their cores are reduced to dust, some form of them will still exist and desperately want to become whole. It's possible to merge gem shards to create fusion abominations. Hearing their leaders, a Diamond, sing can corrupt their gem basically making them retarded.
I like interesting shit like that. And there's a ton more interesting stuff thrown about the show. Meanwhile with like Gravity Falls, there's no detail. It's just like one episode there's golf gnomes than the next a fat cupid love god and than a giant time baby and zombies and talking spiders etc. What am I suppose to think of that?
And I like how they made an effort to give the characters backstories and explanations for their behaviour and the characters have unique relationships, and they're somewhat dynamic.
The more I think about S1/S2 the more I like it.
Anthony Anderson
>The vast majority of cartoon girls look better with long hair than short hair.
Cooper Flores
How did scrappy fix anything unless you mean he was in decent specials and episodes that were dragged down by him?
William Allen
Mary Sue pretty much and "muh womyn do no wrong"
Bentley Cox
Well they do
Jaxson Edwards
That's what I'm saying
Josiah Williams

Hearing their leaders, a Diamond, sing can corrupt their gem basically making them retarded. nigga it's just "we form our shape because light", I guarantee no one on the fucking crew thought about their bodies that deep, quit overpraising that show, it's fine in some regards but you're giving them way too much praise
Camden Foster
This is literally everyone's fucking opinion, hes an encyclopedia of animation but no one asks encyclopedias for original ideas for a reason.
Ryder Wood
Correct, also nice digits.
Blake Lee
... Those are literal plot points / confirmed in-show. Not my headcanon or whatever.
Hudson Collins
I didn't say TAS is bad, only overrated. But I definitely found, and still find, W.I.T.C.H. to be more enjoyable than SSM and SBT combined, by a country mile at that. It's my honest opinion.
Evan Roberts
SEGA should've killed the Sonic comics completely after Archie managed to fuck up the lawsuit with Penders. Letting it go on after that was a bad move.
Gabriel Reed
>he doesnt know they are the same people I've most likley called your taste and life utterly disgusting and shit in one thread while feels posting with you or having an actual discussion in another
