For one, economics, politics, culture, and religion, no matter what they might mean to you or others individually, still remain at the very top of personal and societal influences.
Having said that, in the post-9/11 world, and with the speed in which information flows, it is easier to see the real threats to sovereignty and national identity.
Ideas like globalism, open borders, justice reform, and expanded welfare states have continued not to work, so the powers that which to either wish to expand upon those policies or at the very least keep them are not welcome to a working, property/business owning, educated citizen of any nation.
Those who would choose those same policies, even after the mountains of evidence that they are a waste of time, money, and effort, are either totally morally corrupt, or totally ignorant.
