Reginald is summoning a hypothetical while having forgotten that Beartato isn't in the mood for conversations about food, he's knee-deep in their crime thriller feud.
Somehow, despite the fact that he had summoned the hypothetical because he had forgotten Beartato wanted his diamonds, he incorporates this fact into his hypothetical, making hypothetical Beartato cut to the chase and demand the diamonds immediately.
He then forgets it's a hypothetical Beartato and not the real one and responds out loud.
