"I WILL SQUASH YOU LIKE THE INSECT YOU ARE"

this pleases the emperor

Because it’s easy for 20-25 year olds to know the reference by heart.
Specifically those who grew up towards the end of the pre-movie era, because the DVDs were out by then, and kids could binge on SpongeBob and memorise each joke.

How about its just fun faggot? Go rant in an su thread.

Or the jokes were just good enough that we still remember them, or at least their basis that we can still enjoy them. You show me any joke from season 1-3 and i can at least tell you the premise of that joke if not the exact wording. Its like Monty Python.

MY LEEEGG!!!

I think it has more to do with the fact that Nickelodeon reran the episodes constantly, so anybody who watched the channel as a kid has seen every early-season episode a minimum of five times.
