I come from the former Czechoslovakia and all Yuri talks about is true. They basically did the same to us. USA is further away from them and also much bigger, so it takes longer.
During the first Czechoslovak republic (before WW2) we had a prosperous country based on capitalistic ideas. Our constitution was based on parts of French and US constitution. Before the start of WW2 we were in the top 10 countries in the world by GDP (nation of only 15mil people). The Soviet subversion started to show even before WW2. One of the political parties we had was a Socialdemocratic party with a ever-so-hardcore Communist core.
After WW2 the country slipped fully into the Soviet realm of influence and total subversion was just matter of time. In the first parliamentary elections after WW2 (year 1946), the winners were the Communist party with the support of Social democrats. They immediately got hold of the police and army and started to nationalize private property. This meant they pointed gun at you and if you didn't give them what they wanted you would be shot dead. The party started to form "People's militias" to help them strong-arm the change. By the year 1948 a 95% of industry was in the state's hands. Also in September 1948 the Commies past a law about "Force labor camps", where they send all political opponents to die (basically a concentration camp where you mined uranium ore without any protection). Every opposition was crushed, even anti fascist war veterans were sent to prison. This basically lasted until the 1960s where a counter push was planned by countries remaining intellecutalls, something to be called "Socialism with a human face". This was swiftly crushed when the Soviet forces invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968 and the "normalization" started (basically, fuck you, we still control you now do as we say).
Hasn't happened yet. We must fight against it. This was a victory, but a battle. The war is not over.

Thank God that Americans were aware, or lucky enough, to elect Trump, who at least is a hope that we can try to delay, if not fix, which may not be possible, the inevitable collapse of Western society. But who knows, we shall see if he is the real thing, or just another diversion tactic. That indeed describes my grandfather and his family. Even when I was in university 10 years ago they were teaching post-modernism in everything. I studied History, but I took a few classes on Theater and on Philosophy and everything that was pushed was this anti-Aristotelian and Post-Modernist bullshit in every class; which to me just seemed like repacked Marxist-Leninism. I actually heard a classmate say one time "I am really getting into Socialism" like it was something profound and desirable. It is not surprising to me that the Republicans had no reaction to Sanders, I think they probably saw him as a joke, plus you have to consider the level of corruption in the USA, as well as that it's alright for Democrats to talk about Russia, but if someone on the right starts talking about Socialists or Communists they just sound like tin-foil hats.
