Should I eat lunch now or wait fifteen minutes?

how triggered is /co gonna be the next month?

What snacks did you get?

Reese’s peices? Buncha crunch?

Drink a protein shake

If you get triggered by anything with a black lead a lot but if you want to enjoy good Sup Forums material not much

I didn't get shit

I'm on o shitty third world country for work and getting to the next city with a theater woul be a bitch and the movie would be dubbed, should I do it or wait for blu-ray?

Wait for blu ray

Wuz we kangz?

Any black people in the movie?

Were you the only white guy in the theater?

Does the movie explicitly show Wakandians as xenophobic and overly nationalistic?

How much of the sound track is rap/hip-hop?

How's the CGI?

WE?

Was it a bog standard Marvel movie, but with a majority black cast?

Dude it's a movement not a movie

yes

Pretty good

It was pretty much it's own thing and it's own style

How would you rank it amongst the solo MCU movies?

top tier

Shill confirmed.

Just saw it.

Holy mother of Bast.

>It was pretty much it's own thing and it's own style

I dont believe you, thor raknarok and guardians of the galaxy felt almost like the exact same movie with different actors

A shiny action flick with some light comedy, it was still decent, but marvel movies have become too formulaic

How many years do you think it will take before we can have an honest discussion about this movie on Sup Forums?

is it better than DC's the dark turd?

>it can't be good or else you're a shill
Sup Forums logic

Answer this

Not the same user, but 1-2 years at least. People are going to be talk about it for all the wrong reasons.

Never because it's been hijacked by politics.
It's always going to be "that movie that was billed as a social rights movement"

Would you say it has a palpable anti white feeling? Like, this is how blacks would be living today if it wasn't for whitey?

If its decent we will have actual fucking discussions here, if we can discuss SU we can discuss anything

If its shit, then itll be we wuz posting ad nauseum

If you watched it in 3D: is it worth it, or should I watch the 2D, as usual?

Is it actually good?

This movie so doesn't care about even mentionning white people as a thing that exist, it's not even funny.

Like, they talk about how black people in the world are struggling, it's central to the story, but the fact that white people are responsible for it is a sideline. Barely even mentionned.

It's not about how whitey is evil, (in fact Ross is there and has a nice moment) it's about how black people could use their help, and Wakanda has to choose.

>This movie so doesn't care about even mentionning white people as a thing that exist, it's not even funny.
I was from Asia. Believe me, you white people don't exist. You just think you are more numerous than you actually are.

M8 Shuri literally says "Good morning, colonizer" to Ross.

is it better than the winter soldier?

also post credits

Yes, and it's a joke. In one scene.

No

Mid credits is T'challa at the UN counter-signalling against Trump. "In times of crisis leaders build bridges not barriers". Post credits is Bucky emerging from a mud hut with some African kids calling him White Wolf. Shuri says "You have much to learn Sgt Barnes".

What about winter soldier?

Okay so I will just call black strangers 'Slave'. Because it's a joke.

Does the bad guy get a bulkier gorilla suit? Having him just be Yellow Black Panther looks gay as hell.

Also how was Andy Serkis?

meant for

>colonizer
position of power, one that is chosen
>slave
forced place, complete lack of power

You know, somehow I don't see a comparison.

Man Ape is a different character who turns out to be a reluctant ally. He's just a tall guy with fur clothes. Killmonger stays as yellow black panther.

>bridges not barriers

Isn't that what Pope Francis said IRL?

Shuri was in the position of power in that scene, since they were in her homeland. She was using his white guilt as a weapon to make him feel bad for absolutely no reason.

Why the fuck would Wakandans even use such a jab when they weren't colonized and did jack fucking shit to help those that were?

and she said it to an American, who never colonised anything in Africa.

And so? Bringing up the negative shit a foreigner's country has done is no longer fair?

t. somebody that's never interacted with foreigners in real life.

Is Killmonger as fucking boring as he looks?

Did the movie at least play it serious for once?
Or was it the usual affair of a lil too much comedy attempts. I don't wanna see another Thor Ragnarok

So she was judging him based on the color of his skin?

It's a bit tone deaf, yes. Especially since a Wakandan has no right to take any kind of moral high ground as far as that topic is concerned.

I should have said ancestors instead of country, just clarifying.

Was it woke and bae?

>Black people in the world are struggling

And it's entirely their own fault.

Would you greet a German saying "Hello Nazi" ? or an Italian with "Hello fascist" ? Or an Arab with "Hello terrorist"? Or a Japanese person with "Hello Raper of Nanking"?

You've been an ambassador before? Its not like she had any need to worry.
Because she knows that if Wakanda didn't have the power that it did, they would have done the same thing to her.
>did jack fucking shit to help those that were?
Not helping and actively terrorizing are not comparable.

How was Andy Serkis as the white guy?

Does ross get cucked?

You don't need to be an ambassador to meet foreign people. Go outside or any major city. Or on a vacation overseas.

>28 replies in talkback
>literally cannot go 14 replies without politics

inb4 “b-but THEY started it!!!1!”

Sup Forums needs to fucking go.

If I were a Jew, facing one jack ass of a leader, then sure, why not?
>or an Italian with "Hello fascist"
If I were Ethiopian with the above scenerio, all fair
>Or an Arab with "Hello terrorist"
Arabs terrorize other Arabs, and terror attacks from the middle east on western countries is retaliation based on past aggressions
>Or a Japanese person with "Hello Raper of Nanking"
Thats one event, but if I were an old Chinese who survived, with the above scenario, its fair.

Meeting random foreigners and meeting government leaders are two different things. She didn't address some random white guy.

But she is Wakandan aka, Just as bad as the White Colonialists.

This is like a Zulu saying "You British people Oppressed us"

And if you're a South African you know that's stupid.

Wankandans never oppressed other Africans, so its not comparable.

>Thats one event, but if I were an old Chinese who survived, with the above scenario, its fair.
So had Shuri survived colonisation? No she wasn't even alive for the end of Apartheid so what does she have to worry about?

You/he didn't say 'leaders' or 'officials'. He said >And so? Bringing up the negative shit a foreigner's country has done is no longer fair?
>a foreigners

>Because she knows that if Wakanda didn't have the power that it did, they would have done the same thing to her.

So she's insulting him based on a hypothetical that didn't even happen? That just makes her out to be even more of a needlessly caustic asshole. And the guy's American, it's highly unlikely his country would have held a colony in east Africa even if Wakanda wasn't a secretive hidden powerhouse.

>Not helping and actively terrorizing are not comparable.

Not helping when you have the power and capacity to help is still pretty fucking shitty. Let me reiterate: no Wakandan has any moral high ground when it comes to criticizing anything that happened to Africa when they themselves could have nigh-effortlessly prevented it from happening through superior force and technology. Pretending to care about any nation or people other than their own when historically that hasn't been the case, simply for a convenient jab at another person based on the color of their skin or country of origin, is extraordinarily childish.

Neither did the British Empire.

HA

>implying there won't be a dozen KANGZ threads even if it's good

Being a second class citizen that gives you dramatic improvements over your previous life as a tribal =/= opression.

Ask the Zulus. Dudes profited the most off the British Empire out of any Bantu peoples.

They even got away with exterminating the Bushmen.

Fun.

No?

Was it a good action movie?

>He didn't get raisinettes.
You monster.

on a scale from 1 to 10, with one being shit and ten being great, where would you put it? also where would you put Iron Man and Winter Soldier, just for comparisons sake.

8/10.

Winter Soldier is technically better, but I like it less than this. Same for Iron man.

If you can get over some of the ridiculous shit, like battle rhinos fighting alongside VTOL jets, then 7 to IM1 and CAWS which are 10s (not 10/10 movies but the best Marvel movies).

Not a revolutionary game changing piece of cinema like the hype says but still enjoyable.

Stan Lee Cameo?

He takes T'Challa's chips at the casino.

Not quite, but it's definitely the best thing Marvel has put out since then.

OP is right: it remains consistently self-contained throughout and strives to be its own thing to quite a bit of success. Wakandan culture feels vibrant and alive, the supporting cast do a good job of filling things out and, perhaps most tellingly of all, the humour hits its marks without ever bogging the plot down.

It definitely feels as if they allowed Coogler to just work his magic with the film with minimal interference. The sense of a lack of executive meddling is almost palpable.

8/10

Definitely in the upper echelon of the MCU, but I would say it falls beneath Iron Man 1, The Winter Soldier and, potentially, GOTG.

What's the musical score like?

a lot of tribal and orchestral stuff. I don't think I noticed any rape or hip hop at all in the Wakandan setting, and it was used sparingly in the American setting. Not the impenetrable fog of "AYO HOL UP" Sup Forums wanted it to be, definitely.

I was gonna ask the same. I like the music in the trailer but I won't see it unless the whole movie has a soundtrack like that

So is it just a case of the advertising being out of touch with the actual product?

is killmonger literally malcom x

Does anyone actually say "Ayo hol up"?

>don't think I noticed any rape

Well, it is a PG-13 movie.

It's pretty obvious that they used the African singing from District 9 in the temp music.

youtube.com/watch?v=kD8LcP3m8fg

There's some hip hop music in the OST. There's even Hangover by PSY and Snoop Dogg in there.
The music they chose for the end credits felt really out of place, I think it was Rihanna or something.

Pretty much, yeah. All the hip hop and rap used in the advertising is relegated to the soundtrack inspired by the movie. Everything else is standard Marvel orchestral fare with some tribal elements thrown in for flavour.

No, but Shuri does say "WHAT ARE THOOOOOSE" at T'challa's sandals early in the film.

>but Shuri does say "WHAT ARE THOOOOOSE" at T'challa's sandals early in the film.

Who do you think will be the fav favourite character?

I balked a bit too, but they were clearly trying to portray Shuri as someone who was infatuated with the world outside of Wakanda right down to the point where she dressed in more westernised outfits and was implied to modify her Wakandan garments.

M'baku was a bro and turned out to be a fan favourite in my audience

Other than that, I think people really enjoyed the head Dora Milaje and, of course, Klaw.

Isn't the entire soundtrack disc supposed to be rap and hip hop?

What protist is known for causing Eel grass decline in California?

I'm a little disappointed that Bucky is the White Wolf. T'Challa breaking a centuries-long tradition and revealing Wakanda to the world was the perfect set-up for Hunter to go nuclear.

Any WE WUZ KANGZ lines?

He was my favourite, certainly. Loved the ape tribe and their whole mountainous aesthetic in general.

Why no Hunter?
