>The film’s estimated three-day gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time. Combined with an estimated international debut of $169 million from 69% of the international market, the estimated global debut stands at $361 million through Sunday.
I think the only question now is if Black Panther crosses the billion dollar mark or not. It's on pace to, doing slightly better than Civil War did at this point. I have to imagine Black Panther 2 is already greenlight and Feige is working right now trying to get Coogler the Kraven the Hunter rights.
nice. hope the cg is A LOT better in the sequel though :(
Brandon Harris
>M-MUH CHINA!
Robert Martinez
god I love Based Disney
and they're brilliant too EVERY screening of this came with a trailer for A Wrinkle in Time taking what would have been a surefire flop like Ready Player One and Tomb Raider and making it the next MUST SEE Event
Cooper Perry
I remember liking the book but wasn't the brother a lot younger?
Ryder Campbell
Sup Forums on suicide watch

They might not actually recover from this

The old Sup Forumsack shuffle eh?
Landon Clark
I mean, are you surprised at this point? You knew what they were about.
Blake Butler
So how long until people forget this movie and move on?
Benjamin Clark
ah yes. the goalpost moving technique. they use it quite often.
Henry Phillips
>Sup Forumsfags posting about Sup Forums shit are from Sup Forums but anytime Sup Forumsfags post here they're just crossposters and definitely not Sup Forums Literal autism.
Adrian Thomas
I feel like this is all the same poster
maybe that's my optimism though
Oliver Davis
never it's officially better than The Dark Knight making it the gold standard of comic book movies
Andrew Hall
What Disney release doesn't break records these days? I'm starting to think they might actually bankrupt America somehow.
Jackson Russell
>billion dollars
Actually, is there anything coming out from WB/Disney in the next few months that would interfere with it? Or maybe another Fast and Furious movie?
Because if the slate is clean, it could very well get a billion with little effort.
Joseph Thomas
hopefully and then they can buy it and we can finally live in Disney World
>WB >Having anything that anyone wants to see Disney does have A Wrinkle in Time and people will see that but no there's nothing coming out until Infinity War
Seriously $2 Billion easy
Nolan Smith
I'm actually surprised more studios aren't releasing big blockbuster movies outside of the summer, when there's less competition.
Nathaniel Myers
I want Sup Forumseddit to leave
Gabriel Hughes
I'm a white guy and I tried to watch the movie the other day. The whole audience of black people gathered around me to beat me up and kick me out saying how "a cracker isn't supposed to see this movie" and the theater staff just stood up and clapped then proceeded to give everyone else $100.
Cameron Moore
The Dark Knight sucked though. People only like it because that faggot joker died IRL. It was just as bad as the one with Bane and CIA.
John Morgan
These are some high levels of autism.
Brody Scott
>better than The Dark Knight It's not saying much. It was boring as fuck. I think people like it because they are casuals and the movie has good reviews.
Cameron Allen
I know that but everyone worshiped it because of that shitty actor killing himself and now that something they consider better has arrived they'll see it for the overrated pile of shit it is
Cameron Wood
Dude, it's fucking February. There's nothing. That makes it all the more amazing.
Ryder Bell
It didn't suck, it's just over praised. Begins was a far better movie in every respect.
Anthony Rogers
It sucked and you're just a batfag shill. Just kill yourself already and help everyone else out.
Angel Lee
Thank the lord.
Jaxon Gonzalez
>officially better than the dark knight Holy shit you're motherfucking retarded ladderbro
Alexander James
It's not just that it's making a lot of money, it's that it did something Homecoming and Doctor Strange didn't, create a new A-List MCU character to replace RDJ and Chris Evans when they leave. It secures that Marvel has a new tentpole franchise to carry them through Phase 4 while they take risks with Captain Marvel and whoever else, and then once he starts getting old they can reboot the X-Men.
If Captain Marvel also does well, I think Kamala Khan is all but assured a Phase 5 movie, too.
Kayden Howard
STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT
Gavin Thomas
As a straight white Christian man this movie offends me.
Chase Gray
Spidey was already A-list.
Charles Thomas
Yeah! Fuck Sup Forums, goyim. They are liars and you can never trust them. Those sneaky, filthy Sup Forumsacks!
Parker Rivera
>batfag shill I...I don't think I've ever been so insulted in my life. I hate batman and his take over of DC. I hate Nolan too (except his early work like Momento). It was a decent movie though..
Jonathan Lewis
critics and audiences agree so suck it DChump
Nathaniel Bailey
Yeesh, pitiful.
Brody Sanders

Christopher Myers
the movie was literally just iron man
Joseph Thomas
>eclipse the dark knight
Was it because he was actually black?
Christopher Martin
"because of pandering" they'll say
Zachary Gomez
>movie about negro dressed as a panther makes more money than dc flagship with superman, batman and first female superhero movie star, the wonder woman
Bentley Torres
Not in the way Marvel wanted. Homecoming (and Doctor Strange) made money, but they can't throw Spidey or Strange into like a Black Widow movie to boost sales.
Now that can have a Black Widow movie that takes her through Wakanda and maybe she works with/against the Dora Milaje, and that'll be something people are maybe interested in.
William Cruz
>If it's good, it'll make $300 million worldwide
If he'd just added the phrase "Opening Weekend" he'd have called it.
Jose Smith
They're like Voltron arms.
Brandon Foster
don't know how many times you need to be told people hate DC and always have because their characters are boring, overpowered, and unrelatable it's been like that since the 1940s and will probably continue to be like that until DC is finally shut down which should be soon since they keep losing more money on shitty tv shows and movies than their dying comics can bring in
Nicholas Murphy
Let's put this into perspective how much this movie could make If it has Wonder Woman tier legs >WW opening was $222 million, made 3.69x that for $821 million >BP opening was $361 million, multiply by 3.69 that's 1.3 billion without China and Japan
Jayden Johnson
>The current status of Sup Forums

Aaron Lopez

James Martinez

William Rogers
>DC, in a moment of panic and desperation, immediately hire Snyder to rush and direct a Cyborg movie in response to Black Panther
How does it go?
Ryder Kelly
>Black dad tells Cyborg that he should just let everyone die because life is pain.
Ayden Torres
I love how people here actually thought this movie would bomb because "LOL BLACK PEOPLE."
Can't wait to see it myself.
Jeremiah Cooper
Only trolls and retards on Sup Forums would have ever believed this would flop.
Cooper Nguyen
>Name 1 black movie that has done well? Straight Outta Compton.
Nolan Reed
The thing is that they would've been right if it was just Black Panther dicking around in New York (like the latest comics) or just arguing with poor people in Africa.
This is very much not like that at all and more like a civil war inside a technological utopia. They were very spot-on with the worldbuilding. It was fucking great.
Tyler Robinson
Buh-but Chyna
Jace Williams
I didn't expect the woke crowd to turn on Black Panther this quickly.
Jacob Williams
Truly the most ancient and most powerful of the Sup Forums clans secret techniques
Elijah Parker
Those three are boring, and I love Batman. Watching Justice League last year reminded me of how many superheroes and characters DC has that are criminally underused. Yeah, I'm not surprised people are getting sick of the same DC heroes.
Logan Martin
Some motherfucker's always trying to ice skate uphill.
Christian Allen
>You should become a full robot, fuck humanity! Something about drown horses also
Hunter Cooper
>woke crowd More like acting retarded crowd.
Daniel Brown
I don't know, user. There are a LOT of stupid people out there.
I'm so fucking glad we're getting an Aquaman movie this year. Now if we could get GLC and Dark Universe to finally happen too.
But yeah, if all WB takes from the failure of the DCEU is that people just want more Batman, I'm going to be gravely disappointed. Fuck Batman, give me something different for a change.
Jeremiah Sullivan
MCU is going to start to fade after Infinity War - a lot of people are starting to get burnt out by the franchise and are basically just sticking it out until Infinity War for the sake of a seeing the arc completed. RDJ and Evans are the heart and soul of the franchise and Boseman doesn't have the personality or acting chops to carry it without them.
Noah Scott
I must say i'm surprised Disney allowed them to go with a plot which essentially states that if you take Black Nationalism to the extreme it's just recoloured Colonialism. No doubt the director and the rest of the people involved knew it would start shit, but they did it anyway because they believed it was an important message to send.
Anthony Hill
More reliable than the sunrise
Lincoln Collins
>impose embargo on negative reviews and threaten to blacklist any publication that doesn't comply >LOOK! EVERYBODY LOVES IT!
Samuel Richardson
Guy probably doesn't even understand Wakanda is blatantly national socialist or that he's whining about CIA/Mossad propaganda movies in the first place. But then, he's a modern "black leader" so he's presumably an FBI or CIA disinformation asset himself.
Kayden Lewis
So...he's mad that Wakanda didn't want to become the Evil Empire™ from a Saturday morning cartoon? And "freest black people on Earth" is rich coming from a black man living in the first world
Aaron Myers
Every time.
Christopher Russell
Still trying to push that bullshit, huh? Or have you fallen for it like you did your "The Last Jedi was a bomb" one
James Garcia
oh Sup Forums...
Eli Adams
Blockbusters between BLACK PANTHER and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.
>A Wrinkle in Time. >Tomb Raider. >Pacific Rim: Uprising. >Ready Player One. >A Quiet Place. >Rampage.
It honestly looks like a clear path. The biggest threat in my opinion is RAMPAGE, because The Rock prints money.
>Fuck Batman, give me something different for a change. A Harley Quinn trilogy you say? And we stretch the finale one into two movies and make her sidekick a talking red and black butt plug that we sell lifesize action figures of in the toy isle at walmart?
William Myers
>MCU is going to start to fade after Infinity War wew
Gavin Johnson
only bit that really stuck out to me was the ship at the end, which seemed a bit blurry

A Wrinkle in Time is the only thing that will take away money Rampage will bomb like every WB movie this year
Juan Foster
>"I'm a man of science, Victor. A builder. And I've dedicated my whole life to building a better world. You're my creation, my masterpiece, my legacy. You are the transcendence, Victor. The perfect fusion of man and machine. Your evolution will lead the way to ours. Imagine a future where we can live forever as titans of steel. You're the key, Victor. But you must keep evolving. Let go of the memories of a past. They died alongside your mother. Embrace who you are meant to be. Embrace your destiny. You finally have a purpose rather than wasting away all the potential I passed onto you. You can change the world. You were a disappointment to me once, son. Don't disappoint me again."
Kayden Martin
>I'm so fucking glad we're getting an Aquaman movie this year This might be the dumbest ducking thing I've ever seen
Chase Evans
"A Wrinkle in Time" will bomb and "Rampage" will be a moderate hit.
Screencap this.
Gavin Rogers
Rampage looks almost comedic, as does hurricane heist.
Elijah Powell
Alright but only to laugh at your retarded ass
Everyone is already talking about how it's a must see after Disney showed the trailer in front of Black Panther
Henry Flores
The bit early on with Black Panther's companion PS3 game character model taking on the human traffickers was abysmal too.
Dylan Powell
Sure they are, Ava.
Eli Lopez
As a foreigner, I don't have a clue in hell about what the fuck Wrinkle in Time even is.
