will going to a community college to learn art as a right winger be a good idea? anyone have any experience with art classes or community college in general?

>art classes

>those thic arms

fuck..
its so stupid.
i realize this as well.
my mom is forcing me to go to college just to go to college she doesnt give a shit what i do.im really into art but i rather do that shit on my own terms and learn myself.
inb4 not your blog

Ive learned over the years that what yoh do with what you know is better than doing nothing.

In short, a path is a path.

if your goal is to fugg, maybe. just be alpha and hit on women uglier than you.

if your goal is to better yourself, fuck no. go learn something useful and high paying.

also sage.

>learning how to art

I took a couple art classes at CC. Got to draw a naked dude. Art chicks were more normal there than they are here at my liberal university. people here are much more colored hair, tattoos and piercings. CC art girls seemed to be the reject type or classic artsy style rather than SJW lookin bitches

is it really though?
i guess im working at shit job making fair money right now and dedicating my free time to art. but even then its not enough time to produce how much i want to.

>apply to art school
>get rejected
>go into politics

Get a job and move out. She can't force a grown man to do shit, unless you're a little bitch.

checked.
but no.

go learn a fucking trade

electrician, plumber, mechanic, welder, etc etc

you can make $120k a year doing these jobs because htye are in that much demand

community college arts class= literally just debt

im only getting 12 bucks a hour.
if i move out ill be starving and more than half m income would be for rent.
right now im fairly comfortable and get to save a huge portion of my money.
she is also paying for all of this.

Taking art classes is one thing, but majoring in any art field is something else altogether. You'd save time and money doing art on your own if you were planning art as a major. Whatever resources you need you can find online. Paint and pencils aren't expensive.

Consider pursuing a major with better job opportunities and do your art in your spare time.

t. art school dropout

fug.
that was my second plan.
learn how to weld and fabricate metal
and possibly try my luck at metal art.
since im into calligraphy very much i could see it transferring over.

They're not QTS like the OP

perhaps it is the true way to power

Everyonebut me gotta learn

...

Don't do it! You will be poor and considering suicide everyday like me!

Why would you learn art in school in the 21st century?

Just study to be a Sys Admin. Get a cushy job and do art as a hobby. Not too hard.

No.

Learn something practical that can earn you a living. Then do all the art in your free time.

If the art works out, you get the satisfaction of quitting your day job. If it doesn't work out economically, you're not fucked.

Take that money you would spend and instead travel europe and visit all the major art museums.

Then blow me.

the desire to impregnate the one on the right is so strong i can't even deal with it

>Sys Admin
how do i do that.
i work a computer shop right now building servers and computer systems lights and cameras
so im fairly comfortable with the hardware part.
no so much the software
what classes do i take?

Source, I recognize the artist but not where it came from

>art
kek
One of the best classes I've taken was gen chem I at community college.
Shop around for o chem though

>Then blow me.
Would be considered a riveting performance piece. Likely to get an installation at the Tate Modern.

learn linux, operating systems and a language like bash or perl

Community colleges offer more than just degrees. I'm going to a university to work on my BS but am also considering doing a program at my local community college over the summer that offers a certificate.

I'm speaking from the experience of going to a private liberal arts school for art so bear with me.

Do your research. Find a school with an active arts scene that has to do with what you like, and then major in something practical and useful. If you can then minor in something artistic, do that instead.

I was fortunate enough to graduate debt-free, but goddamn do I feel stupid for feeling entitled enough to having my parent's money spent on something so useless to society. Good art doesn't come from someone teaching it to you, it comes from already doing it and having real life experiences, and most of all being an adult in the real world. It doesn't come from a four-year-long rich kid summer camp, and if it does, it's most likely a fluke (lookin at you Lena Dunham).

"Art" is kinda a broad term, yo. But I feel understand where you're coming from. I'm getting a degree in video post production because I live in Atlanta. There's a market for that, at least.

As far as experiences with people... well, I'm in georgia so over half my classmates are niggers. A few black people too (there's a difference, Sup Forums). Ideology is almost unanimously left. The only right wing person I know in there besides me is.

Just don't take anything involving writing or history. You'll probably be fine.

>my mom
HA
>is forcing me
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>she doesn't give a shit what i do
WHEEEZZZEEEEE

it's a CC what do you think they're gonna do? bully you because you're a republican who likes to doodle? OP either take something serious or just do as you please since you'll be going for free

I got all kinds o' money for the person who can name me dem two gals. P.S. TRUMPELSTILTSKIN4LIFE!

it looks like distance, but I might be wrong.
you should go read a couple distance tanks just to be sure, they're great.

I agree, but it does help getting an employer's attention. Anyone with a fucking DSLR and enough money can call themselves a photographer, but if you've got a piece of paper saying you're not retarded it helps.

Don't waste your money on an art degree. Study something actually useful and study your art on the side. Go to an Atelier if you must spend money on it. College Arts is a scam 99% of the time; most of your teachers will be vastly under-qualified and unskilled (research them before you apply somewhere to see if they actually have any chops -- most won't).

Just about everything you can learn can be learned on your own and with a few cheap Art Students' League or Artist Co-Op type classes for things like nude figure drawing or metalworking, i.e. things you can't do at home. People usually get an art degree because they're too lazy and unmotivated that they need an outside source giving them structure for their time and someone to tell them to practice. Those that rely on this instructor-based structure alone will fail; should you do take those classes you'll realize the most accomplished/talented artists in your class will be those that study and self-taught on their own time and only use the classes as supplements to their personal regimen.

Worst case should you go through with it... I would suggest applying to a high tier art school or college w/ a very strong art department (do your fucking research) and ONLY attend if you can land a full or mostly full scholarship. The only use for this route is networking and campus resources you can't get at home - of all my friends who went to art school, the ones that furiously networked with their profs over their 4 years, went to gallery shows and shared their shit, and forced themselves to improve outside of assignments, were able to land connections to industry jobs before or shortly after graduating.

Tldr don't do it. Big waste of money. Study on your own to git gud and get a generic bachelor's since a B.A. is less useful than soiled toilet paper.

WHO THE FUCK IS THE GIRL ON THE RIGHT YOU GOD DAMNED FUCK!? NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR ART OR YOUR MOM YOU WANT TO BANG POST THE GOD DAMN SAUCE TO THAT THIC ARMED COW!!!!

Art's fun, and if you have a steady job and just want to take a few classes, go for it. It's just no way to make a living, since even highly talented artists work within an oversaturated market where individual talent and style are thrown aside for quick and cheap bullshit (see every graphic design artist ever).

I want sauce on either grillz

>Posterior pelvic tilt vs. Anterior pelvic tilt.jpg

goddamn dat ass

Why would you go into debt for art classes?

>learn art

nigga how the fuck are you gonna land a job with an art degree

unless you want to do street caricatures in NYC for the rest of your life, reconsider

>community college to learn art as a right winger be a good idea?
kek

Figure out what you want to do, check where you want to go, check first 2 years curriculum, go to CC, take those classes, save thousands of dollars, transfer to your original favorite school, profit.

>community college
>learn
>art

...

Bump

Op here. You won't be able to find sauce. Sorry. I've tried for a good 2 hrs a while back.

...

I totally recommend against CC for anything other than vocational degrees like welding or HVAC. IF your goal is higher academics such as a difficult bachelors or anything higher you'd be better off in an environment where you will be fully challenged and acclimated to that level of expectation.

There are a lot of issues with CC one of which being a lack or resources in many states and they often have much lower levels of support for students; antiquated processes, and often rely on temp teachers as professors which means you are gambling with your education.

I had a land whale teach me some college chem 2 and she knew for sure that after that semester she was starting a masters. She didn't put in the effort and you could fucking tell. Sometimes you get teachers who just work these gigs on the side and they just don't hold you to a high standard because showing up and not making trouble is just good enough.

If its an art degree then I'd say you might not need the degree in the first place if its your real passion. But if you want the degree and want to take it super cereal then you need to be very careful because while CC is cheaper sometimes you will get what you pay for.

My largest regret in my life is going to CC. I fell through the cracks and when I got things straightened out the advisors and the CC itself was almost purposefully standing in my way. Then I got to a major University and realized that while I had no debt I also nearly had no education for the time spent. The adjustment was awful and unexpected. I felt lied to about how good CC's were by the end of it.

last bump from me, anyone else still searching?

Bump

You don't need school for art and anyone teaching art is teaching because they weren't able to make a living off it any other. Practice every day, not just when your inspired. Understand there are people out there working hard to become a professional artist and you must outwork and outsmart them if you want success. There is competition. Be better than them.

Bump

Totally agreed. My art teacher in CC was a failed artist. It was kinda pathetic really and I don't know how in the fuck she was able to teach a college class when her ceramics were so damn cringe. It was like she got baked and then slapped together whatever clay felt good and put it in the oven. Lazy as fuck even if she had a great understanding on the last century or so in art.

If she's paying for it then go for it. I'd suggest studying something else so your diploma means something though, you can still be an artist and take some classes on the side but you'll have a degree that has value.

how can dat ass be real if our eyes aren't real?

oh lawd what i would give to be one of those girls right now

How much IQ does one need to have?

Kek

>Go to college for art
>as a right winger
>become Hitler
I don't see anything wrong with this.

IQ doesn't mean shit really. Its really about persistence and patience. The best coders are often musicians or at least people who aren't totally fucking autistic because those people tend to make an easy task harder by working some abstract bullshit.

In other words, if you can get to this page and post you're smart enough.

Memes aside, your mother has a point. It's nearly impossible to get anywhere without either education or connections. In short, a piece of paper that you've gotten some schooling is worth more than most acquaintances.

That being said, it is true that art degrees don't qualify for jobs most of the time. You'd be going to school for your own sake, not the sake of your career.

If you can, learn a skilled trade. Those are in high demand and usually pay better per year invested than most educations. You'd be passing your academically oriented friends income-wise for ten-fifteen years before their net worth catches up. By that time you might have rooted in some business and have unique experience. A smart man gets around, no matter his diploma.

KEK wills it OP. You know what to do.

Bump

SHITTY BAIT

i want to watch these two fuck blacks

The proper path is finding a way to make yourself a contributing member of society. If you think art will do that for you, than godspeed.

Lot of salty cucks on here, OP. I'm an adjunct art professor at a small college, allow me to just jump in and say that it may just be worth it for two things: networking and facilities. Your professor might know potential clients for your art if you want to hang it in a gallery or sell it -- jobs in the art field (my professor got me a gallery admin job, payed me 17 an hour which was good for a grad student) and if you want to do something esoteric like say printmaking or 3D design which has a high cost for entry, 500 bucks for a class is way cheaper than a grand for a screen printer or iMac w/maya suite. Do a cost benefit analysis and see what works for you, and good luck!

oi dick head stop being a dick head, dick head. also fuck you.

sauce pls

>art college
Practice and pirated internet videos are the same shit

>art
no.

anyone who told you that "art can be taught" is lying

There is an asian professor at my CC who teaches drawing class very thoroughly, from the fundamentals. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it.

don't even bother unless it's 9000
plus you have to hate everyone in an openly disdainful way - nobody really understands that this is the secret coping mechanism which allows a sysadmin to not kill himself

I went to a community college for my general education and had a much better time then I had in my first semster of uni.

At my community college all my teachers were actually american and cared about me.
All my professors at my uni are all foreign everyone of them.
My classes are fucking huge compared to my small classes in community college. The teacher doesn't give a fuck about you at uni.
Plus everything is a scam at uni you have to pay for every little thing like parking and lab glasses and coats. All of this was provided at a community college while I was paying less in tuition I don't get it.

Also I hate how labs are a separate class from the lecture. Completely fucks your learning timeline up.

Don't waste your money going to school for art. I learned more than you could possibly imagine by getting good books and teaching myself, then going to conventions to display my art (however shitty it was) which lead me to meet other true artists, who I then asked if they'd teach me privately or let me join their painting clubs. This is the most pragmatic route.

I got my certs at one, then decided I wanted to go into psychology despite 90% of the people in that field being special wastes of space in a vain hope to do good by helping soldiers with PTSD as my only goal and not go into the bullshit.

The classes with general ed students pushed me farther right, but the classes with the good working people trying to get better skills tempered what would have otherwise become extremism into something a little less virulent.

Why is this not a gif?

or you can go to trade school and help make america great again

do fucking video production gunt. even the great Donald once wanted to do that.

FIgure out what kind of art you want to do , learn how to turn it into a business while your still in school . Bust your ass to be a master/specialist. Raise your rates every 6-9 months if you attain new skills, give yourself a raise .Try to get over seas find clients and keep working remotely. Stay as legal as possible. Network. You can do it in 5 years.

How is psych, user?
I also want to head in the direction of therapy, but I haven't found a single person or resource that can actually tell me exactly what you learn in the classes.

Do you think the classes are useful and practical at all, or is it all history and theoretical?
How much scientific method is there versus the feelings aspect?
Is it worth it?

>bad company

too soon, user

N O.
Don't make the same mistakes I made dude. Go to college for something that actually requires a degree. You can still work on any kind of art you're passionate about not the side.

If you still decide to go, it won't be that bad. I went to an art school and not a CC and I wasn't ostracized for being more conservative or anything, but it's 99% liberals/SJWs.

/depressed and broke photo major

If you are a good artist try marketing. It is were artists go to shill for cash when they can't make it in the real art world. It isn't a bad thing, you still get to do what you love, sorta.

College is a scheme by businesses to get people to pay for their own training. It's all about getting that piece of paper so you don't have to flip burgers the rest of your life. Forget the rest. The "college experience" has nothing to do with the real world and will only distract you.

I am; its fine but keep things in mind:

1. real life isn't Sup Forums save the shit posting and jew talk on the DL. If you want to talk about Jews use another word, 'banker' or 'globalist' work.

2. Don't be aggressive. Always be the bigger man. This is easier said than done, and sometimes they may antagonize you. If you feel the conversation getting aggressive go full stop and tell them why. People notice when you are the bigger man. Don't troll

3. Know what you are talking, and try to be as elegant as possible, and use resources if you have. If you don't know enough about a subject to debate it be honest about it and don't run your mouth. If you don't know what you are talking about people will take notice.

Follow these rules and you should be fine. All my friends are blue pilled normies who hate Trump but they respect why I like him

gj leaf!
