We've done some satire stuff like with Capescraps. I'll be posting his demon fuse crossovers and maybe some of his other comics. He's also offered to draw for me, and I'm more than willing to take him up on that offer. I have scripts ready but I have tentative artists lined up and won't really know until the end of the month what I can put who on what. Mitch wants to do Princes of Dawn, and I've been in contact with Nayamo to commission him/her/it/they to do Stardust. Ed might or might not be willing to do more cape scraps, it depends on how smooth things are once the Colony Corps ball starts rolling.
Honestly I just kind of want to chill for a week or two to try and get over personal shit I won't bore the thread with.

If you're going for a more "realistic style," this isn't really working. You're symbol drawing as much as you did with your old style, but you just switch out the symbols for less exaggerated ones. If you wanna commit to a more realistic style, may I recommend you spend some time studying "Drawing the Face and Hands," and doing portrait studies

I hear people criticise symbol drawing, and you can certainly fall back on it too much, but it seems to be a lot of very highly praised comics do use it to an extent... just not mainstream ones. Or maybe I'm blind, who knows.

Symboldrawing is kind of like using premade mixes and such in your cooking. In order to know which one to use, and how it works with the parts you do from scratch, you kind of need to know how to make it from scratch. Even if you never actually do it. Like I've never successfully made good tomato sauce, but I know WHY. It has to be baked, ideally broiled, in order for the copious flavorless liquid to leave and the sauce to become concentrated and get that roasty flavor. So I use jarred shit. and I symboldraw. but I also sometimes construct the parts to get new symbols.
