Set it from the Crooks' perspective, and you're already half finished.

Leverage but with orcs and elves and over the top cyberpunk nonsense

Jonas Brothers, Miley and friends vs evil MouseCo?

>Set in Seattle, of course
>Follows a primary team of protagonists, with a few episodes entirely about side characters or other runner teams.
>The protags never even get close to learning or fighting the minions of the Horrors. The most dangerous foe they get is a non-great Dragon they doublecross. Runs from AAA megacorps are rare and super dangerous.
>Aztechnology always gets portrayed in the most positive light of any corp, except for one episode all about the blood magic going on behind the scenes and the brutality of the Aztlan-Amazonian war.
Ditch a couple outdated terms like cyberdecks and commlinks for laptop and smartphone.

If there were a real Shadowrun show the shitposting over Aztlan, the NANs and AAA corps would swamp the board for a while.

>Ditch a couple outdated terms like cyberdecks and commlinks for laptop and smartphone.

Now I agree that terms like "cyberdeck" and "commlink" are outdated, however "laptop" and "smartphone" take some of the cyberpunk out of it. Technobabble is a huge part of cyberpunk, chummer.

Cyberdecks aren't really laptops. I don't think many of them have non-virtual interfaces, and by the 2070s everything's AR now (which in my opinion takes some of the fun out of it).

Commlinks are essentially smartphones, yes. But again, there has to be a better name that just "smartphone".

I agree with everything else however.

>If there were a real Shadowrun show the shitposting over Aztlan, the NANs and AAA corps would swamp the board for a while.

It'd be a lot more interesting than the usual shitposting, that's for sure. As long as Sup Forums doesn't butt in, of course.

>Shadowrun
Gross. Give me real cyberpunk like Cyberpunk 2020, not that D&D mutant

Uh...

Project G.K.R. rebooted with more violence and Runner Slang?

Your suggestion presents a serious lack of elves.

A fixer as a framing device. He picks a team from a pool of ~8 main characters. He provides the mission and as a narrator can add a bit of backstory that a Johnson or Runner would not talk about themselves. Two part episodes handling the legwork, run itself, and the inevitable bulldrek that gets in the way.

>Shadowrun isn't real cyberpunk.

Both it and CP2020 wouldn't exist without Gibson's work. That makes them as real as it gets in my book.

Take Neo Scum and animate it.

Bright

but that's neither a cartoon, nor Shadowrun.

A Bright cartoon could be good too though.

Bright was David Ayer's and Max Landis' poor attempt at an urban fantasy with Orcs and Elves. I'm sure the two had no idea that SR had been going strong for the past thirty years or so using that EXACT premise (just with more /cyb/).

That being said, I did enjoy the movie. I just don't try to think about how nonsensical the worldbuilding is at times. I hope it gets a TV show to flesh out things.

it's pretty damned close to Shadowrun
eh, I found the world building good enough for the movie to hold up. More would definitely help but there are 2 more movies they are making so there will be more worldbuilding to come

Basically The Bots Master, but with elves and graphic violence. Absolutely Pink Mohawk style, with do-gooder 'Runners fighting The Man and rad explosions and slick gunfights and shit.

Phantom 2040 with a group doing jobs.

youtube.com/watch?v=8GPGQoR6f6w

it'd be really fun if it was the team from Dragonfall or Hong Kong were the main characters

holy fuck that's bad I liked it

Roswell Chronicles but in the future.

Fuck off Gibson go back to your neo communist circle jerk

>Orcs have a greater population density than humans and are physically stronger than any other race
>Apparently an oppressed minority somehow
>Fairies are evidently sapient and fought in the war against the dark lord
>It's legal to kill them and they are treated like vermin
>Humans have shared the world with other sapient beings for the entirety of history
>All of history still occurred as it did in our world and inter-human racism still exists
>Everyone hates the orcs for serving the dark lord thousands of years ago even through it was an orc that killed him.
>Nobody hates the elves even through the Dark lord was one.
Bright was dumb

You're already getting Cyberpunk2077

>I'm sure the two had no idea that SR had been going strong for the past thirty years or so using that EXACT premise (just with more /cyb/).
One of the trailers had a direct reference to Shadowrun

>>Orcs have a greater population density than humans and are physically stronger than any other race
>>Apparently an oppressed minority somehow

Blacks
>>Fairies are evidently sapient and fought in the war against the dark lord
>>It's legal to kill them and they are treated like vermin

They are vermin who can't talk

>>Humans have shared the world with other sapient beings for the entirety of history
>>All of history still occurred as it did in our world and inter-human racism still exists

Racism needs no logical basis

>>Everyone hates the orcs for serving the dark lord thousands of years ago even through it was an orc that killed him.
>>Nobody hates the elves even through the Dark lord was one.

Jews >>> Blacks

are you fucking retarded?

>Blacks
>greater population density
>physically stronger
Nope
>They are vermin who can't talk
According to the background details they are capable of speech and are sapient.
>Racism needs no logical basis
1:It actually does require more justification than you would think, people don't generally go out of their way to hate people until circumstances make it justifiable for them to do so.
2:It would make very little sense for people to focus on physical differences between humans when their anatomically different sapient species sharing the planet with them.
>Jews >>> Blacks
>are you fucking retarded?
Are you?

Black are generally physically superior. And there are plenty of areas that they outnumber whites, it's just they are segregated to their own shitholes. Also, just look at the history of South Africa.

>background details
so not in the movie, ok

justification doesn't need to follow logic. Hating one group does not mean you stop hating another group

$5 says one of them is a porn star.

that makes it even better

>that one campaign that went down on /quest/ about the Basilisk
Being a snek has never been more fun.

>hotshot prodigy up and coming runner team meets legendary prime runner crew guarding a saeder krupp facility

Which trailer?

youtube.com/watch?v=WoFqmF9GHWg

At the 0:40 mark.

Shadowrun in the Bright universe must be like CP2020 in ours. Or maybe they call it "Real Life: The Tabletop Game."

Salish style native-american art everywhere.

...

As long as there's a change in the art style I'll watch it. I'm getting too much of a Scooby-Doo vibe from this one.

Yojinbo but cyberpunk for plot.

>It'd be a lot more interesting than the usual shitposting, that's for sure. As long as Sup Forums doesn't butt in, of course.

In a cyberpunk universe, Sup Forums would actually be filled with genuine shills.

>IRL Cyberpunk has been put off for another 50 years :(

Well, at least we have smartphones and corporations taking over the world

>Ditch a couple outdated terms like cyberdecks and commlinks for laptop and smartphone.
That's ridiculous. If you want to make it "modern", just follow 5E and make hacking in augmented reality and turn cyberdecks into specialized hacking tablets. But god, stop with the fucking smartphones.
In Shadowrun universe, Sup Forums is filled with people posting orc cuck porn, and Sup Forums claims that people posting GREENED porn are paid so by the elven elites.

Do it in the semi-adult version of the hbo cartoons like spawn. 40-ish minutes long, usually a different team/story each time usually ending with everybody dead in a vaugely noire way.

Don't forget cults secretly ruling countries they failed at it but damn they tried and hate attacks on cyborgs

Just because no one talks about Scientology any more doesn't mean they don't control stuff. It means the exact opposite.

vox.com/world/2016/11/30/13775920/south-korea-president-park-geun-hye-impeached

Tl;dr cult uses political influence to get president to power but it gets revealed because they get blatant with corruption.

She was a radical feminist SJW, too.

Turns out you can now say words and they mean anything you want, actually.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalia

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalia
First, that sounds more like website for edgy cunts (basically Sup Forums Sup Forums filled with chicks) than anything to do with actual feminism as a social movement.
Second, what the fuck does this have to do with the president?

They were supported by the President, and supported her until her sins became too public.

Bump.

Just call them Comms and 'Decks and you're all good chummers.

>1:It actually does require more justification than you would think,
Racism needs no more justification then "THOSE people aren't like me or my family/friends."

That's the simplest solution yet. I was gonna come up with something stupid and probably dated as fuck.

...

Gobbet is best girl.

What a weird way to spell Glory...

A at base light-hearted and character driven show about some orphaned kids that start running the shadows because of the promise of adventure and fortune, it being them against the world (think a combination of TT, Buffy and KND).

As the show goes on they start pissing more and more people off and getting way too deep over their heads. Their innocent and naive world view that made them want to run the shadows to begin with gets more and more corrupted to the point where the show is so dark that it's full blown R-rated (drugs, murder, torture, rape).
The characters will also go through big changes as it continues. Some will turn evil, some will die, a lot of power positions will change (one of the heroes in S1 could be a main villain in S5), and new characters will be introduced to the main group to keep the group constant but dynamic (kind of like in Misfits).

The greatest villains and evils of the show will never really be shown, but only hinted at (because they are there)-

The end "message" of the show is how you just can't win at a game that was rigged from the start.
And they will never really win. Not in a way that actually matters.

So, Animorphs?

>a shadowrun thread on Sup Forums
today is a good day.

that's not how you spell Eiger.

Jonathan Frakes voices the dragon.

See the problem with Bright was that the Elves, the Centaurs etc were just humans with a gimmick. There was nothing really to separate the races apart.

How would an elfs biochemistry affect their thinking and its subsequent interactions with other races? The same goes for other species. This would have made Bright a more interesting movie.

These are the 9 races according to supplementary materials.

>The end "message" of the show is how you just can't win at a game that was rigged from the start.
youtube.com/watch?v=kAAlEoLRuTA

But that argument can be placed against ALL fantasy...

I hope we get to see Brezziks and Panahus in the sequel.
