let's read some comics

...

Some GOOD comics.

Hi thread!

so what was good yesterday?

I'm hanging out in the Fade with Hawke, who is honestly kind of an insufferable cock

TEX IS ALIVE

So marvel solicits were also underwhelming

Also WB fucking up DCEU even more with the Batgirl and Nightwing news lmao

Kid Lobotomy

TEX LIVES

For now

I actually believe Whedon's excuse about not being able to think of a good story because Bab's doesn't really have any good ones.

Hi /gd/

The news that Sunshine & Roses is finally getting trades was VERY good.

Hit-Girl sucked.

flashbacks to Les Mis (which has ridiculous detail about the Parisian sewers in it)

well you are in the right place for that

Brave and the Bold wasn't bad, though at the same time it hasn't justified Batman being in it yet for the story (though he was only in like five pages)

...

Image Expo news was... alright I guess.
Echolands is the only one that remotely interests me but JHW3 is slow as hell so I'm expecting maybe 8 issues in 2 years.

honestly Infinity Countdown because it revealed the event is a Pymtron story

>punch the children

I've read that urban fantasy novel like eight times, damn, but I guess it's newish as a comic

If Question had an evil mirror twin, would it be the Semi Colon; The Man with Half a Colon?

Imagine Expo always has that "will this book actually exist at some point" extra question.

Bleeding Cool actually made a list tallying the never-to-be ones up.

Dickishly they added Cooke's unfinished project.

Jen is on Blackbird but wasn't she supposed to be doing Storm with Coates? Or did marvel's new relaunch squash that.

OK I'm sorry but that one 3 posts down? The Weatherman? You CANNOT convince me that isn't a procedurally generated pitch:

>Writer Jody LeHeup (SHIRTLESS BEAR-FIGHTER), Eisner Award-nominated artist Nathan Fox (DMZ, HAUNT, Dark Reign: Zodiac), and Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart (Hellboy, RUMBLE) merge to form an unstoppable sci-fi tour de force with THE WEATHERMAN!

>Local weatherman and fun-loving amnesiac Nathan Bright was just a normal guy living the good life on terraformed Mars. But the past Nathan didn’t know he had comes back to murder him when he’s accused of carrying out the worst terrorist attack in human history—an event that wiped out nearly the entire population of Earth.

>Confused, terrified, and ill-prepared for life as the galaxy’s most wanted man, Nathan’s fate lies in the hands of Amanda Cross, the disavowed government agent assigned to his case. Together the unlikely duo will have to rely on each other as they battle their way through the solar system in search of the truth buried in Nathan’s lost memory…and the key to stopping the real enemy from carrying out a second extinction-level attack.

>“Series artist Nathan Fox’s work on THE WEATHERMAN will hit you like a bolt of lightning,” said LeHeup. “Vicious and vital, it’s high energy for even higher stakes. There simply aren’t comics more beautiful than this.”

>Fox added: “Before I even finished Jody’s first script I knew I had to tell this story. THE WEATHERMAN is one of the most inspired, relevant, and human stories I’ve ever had the privilege of contributing to and I absolutely cannot wait for people to read it.”

>A full-throttle, widescreen, science fiction epic about the damage we do in the name of justice and what it truly means to be redeemed…

>I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue

His long lost twin is the Riddler

Link?

Me, I'm just waiting for Amazon Presents: The Culture: USE OF WEAPONS

Honestly I feel like JHW and also Greg Rucka borrow a ton from YA fantasy.

He's been drawing it for a while so I think the first two(?) issues are already done. Too bad he's working with Blackman on that...
I'm happy for those Dalrymple collections though.

...

Hopefully they don't skimp out,

I remember when urban fantasy first got big--it was a very small niche for a long time, and then of all goddamn things the Anita Blake books, BEFORE they turned into crazy porn, helped blow it up

That one reporter from THR was wondering about that too when he was live-tweeting the conference. Apparently the twitch stream was as cancerous as to be expected
twitter.com/graemem/status/966387810222551045

I can see them fucking up Consider Phlebas in so, so many ways long before we get there.

Exclamation Point!

If they can't make it through that, then yeah.

>crazy porn
I'm actually there for the softcore Italian Big Bad Wolf Image book though.

Also hey COPRA is done now. Can we read COPRA at some point?

Oh, true, true. If they started anywhere I'd rather they go PLAYER OF GAMES because that's enjoyable but more straightforward. My favorite, EXCESSION, is just unadaptable.

hook me up and sure

What did you think of The Hydrogen Sonata, if you ever got around to it?

Sucks that Fiffe is only on Bloodstrike for 3 issues

that I have not gotten around to

and I used a cheat sheet for Feersum Endjinn

also dear holy fuck can you imagine the hot takes on Excession's central relationship plot

ahhh, it makes me think of me and my preferred murderparty

DO NOT WANT~

Now if we could just get Bezos interested in some John Barnes books, because I'd love to see the whiplash of going from ONE FOR THE MORNING GLORY to KALEIDOSCOPE CENTURY, lol

hi thread

i can't wait because i only vaguely remember the book

wew

I liked it and would rec. I feel like some of Banks' stuff sloppily retreads preceding stuff, but THS felt like a better statement of what's in Matter and Surface Detail.

KC would have to be some HBO shit

there's no way the twist wouldn't get spoiled, unfortunately

don't look it up, don't. it's so great without spoilers.

...

so am I right that Ahmed is writing a Quicksilver book?

A Mini/tie-in to No Surrender, oddly

It's maybe one of these things I'm too precious about to evaluate any adaptation. Like just Horza and Balveda could be played out in very TV ways... Or Horza and Kraiklyn playing against each other directly in the game.

yes

oh no i read it so i know what happens but since it's been a bit, and the rest of the thing didn't hit me i'm excited to revisit and see how it plays different to me.

and i wanna eventually read other stuff of the universe to ease into it and reread too

I hope he embraces the best part of Pietro: his unrelenting smug dickishness

...

Oh, I can see that, for sure.

Exactly.

People are too cowardly to write Northstar as the gigantic insufferable dick that he should be, which is when he shines

MYRA BEST GIRL

Man these guys are dumb.

to be fair, they have been shown to not be the sharpest tools in the shed consistently

How long until Marvel drops the dual-numbering that they have planned now? I can't remember how long it lasted before.

AT THE GRAMMAR CITY BANK!
"No body move! This is a robbery!"
"Aiyeee! It's The Semi Colon!"
"That's right, so sorry to interrupt your nice sentence!"
"You really half assed that line Semi Colon!"
"Look! It's the Question! He'll save us!"
"Who asked you Question?"
"You just did!"
Question throws his Amper Sand at Semi Colon.
"Comma on Question! You know should really know me now by this PERIOD!"
Suddenly a giant ball lands on the Question.
"Oh no! A Giant Ball landed on the Question!"
"Aster! Rick! Teach our hero a lesson!"
IS THIS THE END OF THE QUESTION?
"I'd hate to bracket to you Semi Colon, but I've got an Ace up my sleeve."
"POUND SIGN HIM BOYS!"
The Question pulled out his sleeper darts and shot all three of the villians.
"EXCLAMATION!" "POINTS!" Aster and Rick fell asleep.
"Hooray! The Question has won!"
"Not yet he hasn't! Behold! My Pair and Thesis ray!"
"Oh no! The Question has been bound in the ray!"
"Don't get kerated away Semi Colon, while you were busy charging your ray, I charged my own Null ray!"
"Wow! The two rays have nullified each other!"
"Drat you Question! Double drat you to heck! You haven't seen my full percentage yet!"
Semi Colon wimpered off, as the bank roared into cheers.
"Hooray! Hooray! Hooray for The Question!"
"Mister Question sir, how do you feel about saving the bank?"
"I don't have an answer to that, I'm The Question."

The screen fades to black as the episode ends.

I want your drugs.

...

if only, those prices...those titles....

legacy numbering seems like such a small thing to like put on the inside cover. and they love variants so there's one

I have heard there's at least one actually interesting Marvel book coming that they should have led with, but didn't, but I don't know if that's by my standards or not

So here's the thing: Vic is a guy who has a lot of trouble asking for help, or accepting it when offered. He's more likely to go out patrolling on his own, kicking ass on his own, and when he does team-up, it's almost a bit begrudgingly sometimes.
The difference here, as it was with Tot's brother, is that he's not asking for help for himself. He's not asking to be rescued. When Myra is in danger, he's capable of swallowing his pride and asking for a hand. And that's part of what makes him such a human character: when it comes to him, he wants to do things all on his own, but when others are on the line, especially Myra, he's willing to go there.

In her own way, Myra is the strongest character in this run.

Huntress was a mature title? Huh

>Seeley's Huntress will never have a title
>she will forever be the third wheel of the og BOP

>"Yours!"
It always cracks me up how offended she sounds here.
>"Friend? The fuck is a friend?"

...

...

...

fun with self-hatred!

fucking seriously?

thanks for reading, owls, we should be back tomorrow but late, like 9ish?

I gotta go haul my ass out of the Fade

What are you reading Sup Forums?
I'm reading through Sleeper, and liking it. I don't know much about the Wildstorm universe, but this is detached enough to not be confusing.

Hey OP. Coming in late.

is that the mission that has you contact some dude that Hawke knows?

I miss the Circulation department,

Yeah, we're all in the Fade right now and i"ve been spoiled for the Big Choice Coming Up, but it's an easy one, really

G'night OP, thanks.

Mature books for mature readers such as myself. Temple of the Golden Pavilion. Also picked up the second Charlton Action Heroes Archive collection with stories about Blue Beetle, Captain Atom and Question.

Thanks for the storytime!

Well, Moonshine just came back, so that. 2000AD, though it's in a bit of a dry spell at the moment. The new Rumble volume is good but I haven't gotten over the art change yet. And Manifest Destiny is still great.

are you the user I got into Glass because you have to see Paul Schrader's Mishima film if not

Yup, I'm Texanon. The movie made me obsessed with Mishima

Feersum Endjinn is my favorite.

It's hilarious that Aaron literally "Byrne'd" Jane's family

Outing Northstar really killed his personality. Being the gay guy means he's no longer the standoffish asshole who is culturally alien to his team and that's how he likes it.

DC had three D&D books- which was the best?

He's still an asshole outsider though

>The Riddles
>Useless character

Man, was Riddler another one of those BTAS upgrades, or were the 90s just kind to him in general?

Thanks for running OP.

Only to the baseline level that all X-Men are nowadays.

Hawkeye saving the day in Avengers happened, dude's back in the purple

Eighties was too cool for school for a lame O like Eddie.
