Chicken Little is objectively the worst.

Home on the Range was acceptable, just came out during an unfortunate time when traditional animation was starting to fade and needed good arguments to continue.

Massive, shameful boner during this scene youtu.be/neFMydwZmMI

Otherwise rather unremarkable, there are far worse direct to video movies.

Mulan is the worst renessaince one

any of the princess series movies, they just exist to sell toys.

What?

any of the princess series movies, they just exist to sell toys.

/thread

I don't think Snow White was made to sell toys.

I have a soft spot for Chicken Little largely because I like the idea of a scifi version of a fairy tale, though even that's really only the second half of the movie.

but it's still the best feminist cartoon to this day

It was acceptable, but I would also say it failed to live up to the Disney standard. If it had come out of some random no name studio no one would have any problem with it and the general opinion would range from “yes, that is an animated movie right there” to “my nana had this on vhs when I was 8 and I can see it’s not great now but it’s my childhood.” Instead, it’s mostly remembered for “I can’t believe Disney made this.”

It wasn’t direct to video. It’s officially from the main studio’s canon.

Oh I almost forgot: this should help for reference.

So how come Disney decided that the second Winnie the Pooh did poorly enough to kill off 2D but not poorly enough to stop doing sequels no one asked for?

Walt was still alive, he had dignity like for 5 or six years, then started to make money out of everything he could. now snow white despite not being meant to be merchandised in the begining is now one of the biggest Disney brands and probably the one with more toys, clothes and general trash through the decades

The decision to kill off 2D again was made before that film was even released; there's no other reason to dump it into theaters with minimal promotion and at the exact time of year to guarantee it wouldn't recover its budget.

I hate this fucking movie so goddamn much.

Yeah, it's Chicken Little. So many of the characters are just totally unlikable.

I recall it having an okay amount of promotion.

>Mulan
>bad at all
>worse than Pocahontas

please rethink your life

I definitely don’t love it myself, but I can kinda see why it has its own following. I think you can kinda feel with this one that at least the heart was there. Meet the Robinsons still might be in my bottom 5 among Disney films, but it’s still definitely not as bad as Chicken Little.

I feel like a movie after Atlantis and Treasure Planet rightfully deserves it.

Those two men have the looks of a person who fucks animals. A lot.

Bambi 2 and Lion King 2 weren't bad for direct to video movies.

Would you mind telling us why?

Yeah, among the direct to video sequels, but are they any better than anything in the official studio canon?

Zootopia would take its place if not the last minute rewrite.

Story wise? I'd say Bambi 2 had a better and more interesting plot than Bambi. But Bambi definitely has the animation.

it's really boring but has a really nice animation style
whoever thought a movie about cows woud be a good idea?

This. Although I have a particular hatred for Zootopia as well, for being so fucking unsubtle.

Not him, I don't hate it as much as him but I never liked the "these people are goofy, weird and funny" trope, when they always are fucking insane. Then they suddenly are not insane but just a bit quirky and prove themselves by helping the main character altruistically.

You need money to make movies.

In terms of having the worst story, certainly.

Chicken Little probably would have still held the bottom spot though because of the combination of story and art. Even when it came out, it didn't look very good in comparison to what Pixar and Dreamworks was doing at the time.

This is the only Disney movie I can say I have a raging hate boner for. The only one where I wanted the villain to win, and ultimately the one that made me autistic screech the most when watching it.

All the butler had to do was take care of the cats, user. She was practically giving her money to him under the condition that he take care of the cats.

Edgar is far and away the dumbest Disney villain though.

Black cauldren, I dont hate it, infact I kind of like it for being a silly underdog story filled with fantacy elements and a fucking horrorfying bad-guy. Though alot of people say its boring, the bad guy dosent do or say much and 'that fucking dog-cridder having an annoying voice.' wich I dont like ither but thought it was an ok chariter.

Also 'Oliver and company', littarly no one knows what the fuck the movie is about, its just street animals trying to do the 'Oliver twist' story but other than ONE fucking song, No one would know it existed. I dont hate it eather, its just so underwhelming.

>Pocahontas came out the year I was born
Is that why I'm such a disappointment?

Home on the Range is boring as piss but it isn't outright bad. Bad by Disney standards I guess but still.

This shit however

not to be that guy but i didn't mind chicken little. it's been several years since i last saw it though idk
regardless i still say zootopia is the worst, solely because furries ruined it before i even saw it so that was constantly on my mind while watching it

The only thing I remember is the gook cat lmao

What're you talking about user? Frozone was cool

I really want Disney to do an animated short where an imprisoned Alameda Slim tells his version of "what really happened" to the other prisoners. Go really over the top with it to the point of even having Pecos Bill show up to take him down.

"But Uncle Slim that ain'"
"SHUT UP!"

Oliver and Company is great. Definitely not one of their best but that's just saying more about Disney's overall quality rather than Oliver's lack of it

>Zootopia is bad for it's followers not for the movie itself
Opinion discarded

>the cancerous fanbase has no effect on how people enjoy the movie

You have no reason to interact with dipshits on the internet and can easily ignore them, how is it possible you havent learned this skill if it isn't your first couple years on the internet?

I didn't choose to interact with them nigger they flooded all social media for months when the movie was announced and after it hit theaters. When I finally sat down to watch it with the senpai all I could think of was "zootopia premier furry count: 2.5" and that shit. Utterly ruined it for me.

He means that Disney has also produced DTV movies that are much worse than Home on the Range, which is true.

Agreed with Black Cauldron, strongly disagree on Oliver and Company. It's not their best but it's fun, cute, and easy to watch. I'd call it underrated, honestly, I think it's better than Aristocats which gets tons of exposure.
Agreed 100%. I love it to death but nobody would call it the best Disney has to offer.

Good taste, user. The whole soundtrack is really underrate, performances by top artists and lyrics by Alan Menken.
Fun fact: this song was directly inspired by the 9/11 attacks.

Ditto.

>i didnt choose to interact with them
>is on social media for reasons beyond work
>and went out of his way to add furries to generate further outrage
Its a mediocore film but you need to learn to regulate your emotions if other people manage to get you that bothered.

Bruh it was tamblr and all of my mutuals were shitty meme blogs, ofc they were going to reblog zootopia furry shit.

Oh, excuse the world for not catering for your special child needs, and messing with your safety bubble, next time the rest of the world will think twice about the way the things they do on their life can affects you enjoyment of public media

Reminder that they originally had storyboarded a much better and outlandish villain motivation than "just get rich selling cattle"

The villain, who can hypnotize cows by yodelling, wanted to steal cattle and use them to storm the white house and become president.

t. furfag

Maybe you should keep moving forward

Why do people keep comparing Oliver to the Aristocats? Is it because they're both cat films?
Because 80% of Oliver's cast were dogs, 15% of it was humans, while Oliver remained to be the only cat centered in the whole film. The whole story in general just felt to be more centered around dogs then Oliver in general.

It must be sad to live as you as everything is ruined by autism you go out of your way to step in.

I'm glad we weren't here to call this feminist propaganda.

This is true.

I never go on tumblr because I can't handle that atrocious search engine. Can anybody here help babby user get his prons with tips on how to navigate that terrible website?

>no movie in 1987
That explains why I don't exist.

Best and worst of each decade, 30's not included because it was juts Snow White. Stuff like Pixar, Toon Disney (Goofy Movie, Tigger Movie etc) not included. Basically anything that wasn't actually made by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

>40's - Best: Pinocchio/Fantasia - Worst: Victory Through Air Power
>50's - Best: Cinderella - Worst: Lady and the Tramp
>60's - Best: Jungle Book - Worst: Sword in the Stone (only other one this decade was 101 Dalmatians)
>70's - Best: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Worst: The Aristocats
>80's - Best: Basil the Great Mouse Detective - Worst: Black Cauldron
>90's - Best: Beauty and The Beast - Worst: Pocahontas
>00's - Best: Emperors New Groove - Worst: Chicken LIttle
>10's - Winnie The Pooh - Worst: Frozen

Don't @ me.

Develop mental filters and/or filter tags you dont like.

>Sword in the Stone, Black Cauldron, 101 dalmatians.
>Terrible
you're joking right?

He should have fucked the squirrel.

I mentioned specifically that only three films came out in the 60's. Can't claim Sword or Dalmatians are better than Jungle Book. Cauldron I gave worst because closest competitor was Oliver and Company, but that at least had a somewhat decent song from Billy Joel.

Still need to see Song of the South for my final opinion

Lady and tramp worst?

Whaaaaat?

Worst due to the 50's having some pretty decent films. Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland.

I can see that. It's not bad, just kind of boring and not very memorable beyond the iconic romantic dinner two weirdos put on for dogs.

Someone screencap this thin skinned pussy.

Song of the South is 90% live action with some animation thrown in, similar to Mary Poppins, Pete’s Dragon, and Bednobs and Broomsticks. It’s not really comparable to the fully animated canon, so unless you’re a completionist looking to watch all of Disney’s live action stuff including 2000 Leagues Under the Sea, Escape to Witch Mountain, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, etc, then you can probably skip Song of the South.

>ordering them according to decade
>not ordering them according to era, eg: Golden Age, Package Era, Silver Age, Dark Age, Renaissance, Experimental Era, Current Era

This was your mistake.

Yeah but it’s a totally different studio that does that.

Time periods too different in length too properly compare. Also people will argue over when certain eras start and end, except maybe the Renaissance which is always defined as Mermaid-till-Tarzan.

the ending is kino

Was that after, before, or during the draft where the villain was the ghost of a cowboy that was killed in a cattle stampede?

Eh, I think the only places for duspute are when the Silver Age stops and the Dark Age begins, and when the Experimental Era gives way to the Current Era. Golden Age and Package Era are pretty clear.

Download Xkit and Tumblr Savior

Disney was content to release it under their label. Whether it's part of the "official" canon or not is really just hair-splitting.

>Worst: Victory Through Air Power
MAXIMUM brainlet

>no movie from '93
Sad trombone

>sacrifices herself for the patriarchy
>feminist

Apocalypse Cow

Everybody Wants To Be A Cat is still the most patrician Disney song, though.

>Zootopia's original pitch was bad
you have objectively the shittiest taste

That's not how you spell Scales and Arpeggios

>Basically no advertising
>Released same weekend as final Harry Potter movie

Bit random they chose a franchise like Pooh to try and kill their 2D animation with.

They were taking one final dump on 2d

>makes cringey post admitting to be a tumblrfag and whining about it
>gets rightfully called out
>”Y-yeah? W-well, you guys are all furries! So there!”
