"Hey Superman, why does it look like someone punched you in the fucking mouth!?"

>"Hey Superman, why does it look like someone punched you in the fucking mouth!?"

What really gets me about this is that his whole jaw structure is wrong, which means they didn't simply do his lip via CGI, but his whole fucking lower head. Why not just erase the fucking stache?

I still don't see it

It probably looked weird. Remember, they would have to put CG skin on his face. Doing the whole mouth is the lesser of the two evils.

I never noticed how badly they cg’ed it out until now

Weirder than this though?

...

WTH? Did Superman become deformed or something?

I rewatched this last night and all the CG shaving looked ok except for this scene and the Flash race scene at the end.

...

He looks like Agent Smith

Someone edit this gif to remove Chris’s beard

Dear God. Supes never looked so bad.

...

It looks like he's sucking his face a little into a huge invisible glass.

I certainly didn't expect the return of Syncro-Vox to happen HERE!

It looks like hes struggling to breathe
and so am I

Finally saw JL. Whedon Superman was pretty great tho. Shame about the cgi, because Henry never acted or sounded more like Supes in a DC movie befor this one. I also liked the humor of Flash vs Superman.

You know the scary bit is he still looks more natural than Erza Miller

...

>no me simpatizas

They should've let him keep the beard. Yea it was like three days after the funeral but it's still fanservice since they didn't give him a black and silver suit.

Also did these kids sound REALLY young to anyone else? They sounded like voice actress imitating six year old boys. And why do they have a podcast?

Soyboyman

Pretty sure all the scenes after the prologue were filmed before Cavill grew his moustache for MI, and the prologue was a reshoot. Am I wrong? None of his other scenes look like this.

Needs a Nintendo Switch edit.

>instead of just using a fake beard for his other movie he forces Hack Snyder to CGI his lip
Based Henry Cavill.

Actually there's lots of CG shave shots in the movie. The intro was contracted to a different CG company, dunno about the ending shot.

Why didn't they just let superman keep the facial hair? Yeah, he was dead, whatever he's an alien it doesn't have to make sense since he gets his power from the fucking sun because it's yellow

They were filming a Mission Impossible film at the time when they started reshooting JL. Universal and Cavill expected everything in the film to be done by then so WB let him keep the stache for his role in MI and opted to take it out in post. As you can see, it turned out real well...

10 million dollars... wew

Reminder this is tye first scene they opened with. If you didn't walk out as soon as opened his Goatse Anus of a mouth, you need to shut up.

>hack Snyder

Did you come up with that?

...

WB didn't 'let him' do anything. Paramount refused to let him shave it since the reshoots were so last minute and they were too deep into shooing MI. WB offered to pay them to have it shaved and they said no, and they had a contract.

WB, as always, fucked up.

Because they'd have to reshoot every scene where he didn't have it

Was the thought of a bearded Superman so unappealing to the creative team? I mean for fuck's sake.

Yeah that's what I was trying to imply, sorry it didn't come out right.
But you're correct, WB hasn't just dropped the ball on this franchise, they fucking slam-dunked it into the gaping asshole of a rotting elephant carcass.

No biggie.

I still hold hope for Shazam. I shouldn't, but I still want to see him done right on the screen, even if they can't call him Captain Marvel.

The most tragic part about his lip-CGI is that if the movie was released just a few months later, they would have been able to just deepfake his face.

Amateur pervs can almost perfectly graft a celebrity's face onto a porn star in their free time, if professionals with a budget had their hands on the tech it could have been unnoticeable.

But that technology was used years ago in Age of Ultron when they needed to shoot around a pregnant Scarjo. Holy shit, why didn't they just do that?!

>WB
>being competent at their job
m8

>growing a beard while you've been dead

Hair and fingernails continue to grow even after a person has ceased living. Growing a beard wouldn't be that hard to believe. Though to be fair, the cgi lip was probably done to maintain consistency between the reshoots and the already filmed footage of clean shaven Superman.

Then they should have photoshopped a beard on the earlier scenes. Hair textures have looked way better in recent years.

...

But he made the dirt move when he was in his coffin, he wasn't completely dead.

A myth. The body loses moisture and the skin shrinks and contracts causing the appearance that the persons hair and nails had grown to people who reopened graves.

They could have gone with the healing coma the comics went with, that way they'd have a disheveled and bearded Supes, but nooo

It's just cadaveric spasm.

Maybe I'm retarded but I really didnt see anything wrong with his mouth when I watched it

>Hair textures have looked way better in recent years.

They CGI'd Damon's beard for parts of The Martian and that looked pretty good.

That's not even getting into the work they did on the hair effects in the new Planet of the Apes movies.

...

he couldn't shave because of his contract.

the problem is most noticible around the lips where i guess the computer couldn't figure out where the lines of his lips were so it sort of looks overly swollen and closed especially on the right corner of his mouth where i'm guessing the mustache grew longer on that side. they didn't erase it but built his face over it is what seems to be the problem.

he'd have to refilm the entire movie. also he was dead, it wouldn't make sense unless they brought him back before the movie started and he kept himself in hiding the entire time. you don't grow facial hair when you're dead.

>Amateur pervs can almost perfectly graft a celebrity's face onto a porn star in their free time
Shut the hell up. Those always look fake as shit

Fucking lol

I must be blind because I never saw, nor see yet, anything wrong with Cavill's CGIed lips. Sure, they look oddly clean and polished, but so does the rest of Superman's body, especially in the scene after he's resurrected and he's obviously unhinged. It's not like actors in capemovies weren't drenched in CGI all the time already.

Did you watch a crappy rip on your shitty phone?
The opening scene is so fucking obvious

Marveldrones want to rub in that Justice League didn't do too well, and to help they latch onto the CG lip. Which is almost unnoticeable but you gotta maintain the illusion that it's just so terrible.

It's not only extremely noticeable, it's somehow not the worst effects work in the movie

I've played old FMV games that had better compositing

It's obvious because pessimistic mofos like you went into the film looking for the flaw. Like the other user said, if you didn't walk out when you saw how "terrible" his mouth looked, then you have no reason to complain.

I can't believe they could release this.

...

Google "001 porn gif pornhub"

Its a good Christina Hendricks one. I'd link it here but I dont wanna get banned.

2nd link too. The one that is exactly like the phrase I told you to Google.

...

Oh Jesus Christ, it looks even weirder in high res. You can see the green screen too.

It looks like Cavill is making funny faces, but the CGI doesn't look as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I really don't see it. And in two of those scenes, he's supposed to be crazed violent, so smiling creepily makes sense.

They probably considered it, I mean look at him.

But the toys where already in production at the time of the reshoots, so changing the look of superman was a no-no.

I'll give them credit for making one of the most handsome men in the world look like a aerial rapist.
