Show took five years to start airing

>show took five years to start airing

Why?

Teen titans go?

What sets this apart from every other cartoon about a group of kids?

Dear god this show looks generic in every single way.

Please respond

Nothing sets it apart.
It IS generic.
Canadian animation is not known for subverting dead horse tropes.

Because it didn't win the Funpak contest so it had to get made on its own.

I remember feeling like the show was weird because all I could think about were pilot episodes.

I understand the animation being cheap but why is the writing so bad for these shows? A good writer can turn trash into treasure.

>A good writer can turn trash into treasure
They don't have one, that's why.

>show about superheroes and sidekicks
>literally nothing even remotely capelike ever happens

i dunno, I'm Canadian and I've always thought that most Canadian television was really bad, cartoons and TV shows

I've a lot of opinions on Canadian TV and could rant for hours but alas

Teen Titans Go meets every high school cartoon

Holy shit is My Hero Sky High.

Alas nothing, I, a fellow Canadian, wanna hear it

I thought it DID win

Because Toronto

Manly Bee won.

I remember liking this at one point.

oh wow, then
Mystery solved

What mystery? I thought it was common knowledge that most of those Funpak shorts were more deserving of a greenlight than Sidekick was.

>I understand the animation being cheap but why is the writing so bad for these shows? A good writer can turn trash into treasure.
someone who worked on Johnny Test for a season or two once came on here explaining that he tried writing better scripts, but the higher ups just wanted low effort crap

>Girl likes mc
>Mc completely ignores her
Getting real sick of this shit

So did CN just buy a stock of Canadian cartoons around that time period?

I remember a good many shows that would premiere at retarded time slots like 1 or 2 PM then after the season was over it disappeared forever

Yes. It's cheaper to buy the rights to cheap Canadian cartoons than pay for more original content.

They have a certain amount of Canadian content they have to air on media networks, they don't give a shit because its not what theyre trying to pull viewers with anyway so it's given no budget or effort

Works for Canada.

>show got a second season nine years after its first

Why?

Wait what?
was it any good. I loved this show

No

Shame.

They go to a superhero school

It was one of the better Canadian shows out there.
It even managed to get 3 seasons

>What sets this apart from every other cartoon about a group of kids?
Sadism
A shit-ton of pure sadism

capeshit was mostly just an excuse to have weird gadgets and monsters on the show

They did add a different love interest in the second season where the love was actually mutual

A show getting a bunch of seasons in Canada doesn't mean much if it's a comedy.

How many Canadian animated series managed to go for more than two seasons?
Most of what I've seen ended after a singe season.

Why;

Most likely never watched it, and just bashes it for being Canadian

There was a whole thread recently discussing what went wrong.

If it were an action cartoon or a niche comedy/adult show that lasts more than 2 season, then we can call it a success. A show like Sidekick is just safe schedule fodder that's there to fill quotas and timeslots; not much better than Johnny Test or Just For Laughs Gags.

>that Canadian law that says there has to be X amount of new cartoons made year

It was fine

Loved this show
It was the only series that ever indulged my fetish of a 1950s sitcom styled harem

Can you give me something to search for on the archive?

Hi Mars!!

I would like to see a crossover with Teen titans go

you need to be 18 to post here

Not Mars but it was brought to my attention thru Mars

...

I like how anons in that thread are ragging on Mars for being a year late to finding out about Season 2 when Sup Forums didn't even know

That is false.
