yesterday took a stab at the Jade empress concept a little more and played with her outfit. hopefully not breaking any time era rules as dresses like these span across many generations. but wanted to have fun with it. also mask concepts as well.

Attached: Jade Empres Concept.jpg (1000x1277, 449K)

Will GG also gain "closed eyes" when she becomes Golden Guardian?

looks great to me

No, firstly because of her Code immunity, secondly because by the Golden Guardian era, the Code has already broken and splintered into the Cosmic Censure Authority.

Yeah, Why is everybody closing their eyes

Part of the 50s pastiche, and because it's symbolic of their Code blindness and how they're effectively upholding a law they don't even know exists.

I like her...

No, seriously, I do like her!

Attached: Future_Jade.png (640x480, 380K)

That sounds creepy.

If the Code has been broken, then would GGuardian finally have alliances and friendships with some of her villains?
Like finally having a relationship with Billy, or having a friendly rivalry with Iron Assailant?

I imagine she'd be friendly with Billy (the bully strip establishes that she already is at school), not sure about a full relationship.

Iron Assailant doesn't do friendly with symbols of capitalism.

I like it! Mask reminds me a bit of Morgan Le Fay on Justice League, which is kind of appropriate.

Friends with Billy maybe, but not with Iron Assailant. Just because the code was fucked by the Silver Age dosen't mean the Cold War had ended.

neat update.
I'm not entirely sure how that robe/jacket thing is working out behind her bustline. I like the idea of a dragon print, tho. Maybe incorporate that more into the overall dress design so it's easier to read?

Also
Black Rose is the most boring heroine in the bunch only just behind Crimson Cat. Fight me.

Attached: Squad Goals WIP.png (835x946, 375K)

I've also struggled to see how that design would work for a campy super.

Crimson Cat at least is able to jump around, move, and hit things, but Black Rose, French Spy design, has no mobility with that outfit.

Again, part of why I suggested the redesign that's now spun into two new characters.

There's no /aco/ thread to post the GG porn I'm drawing baka

I don't know why but everything discussed about Spring makes me think of Chloe Price.

Attached: tumblr_p3jwcdWuOC1qk1n3io1_1280.jpg (850x1200, 110K)

you could always start a Patreon...

>Chloe Price

God, no.

This, I need to post what I got too some time

Thanks
I agree. I still like the concept up it being a long sleeved mid driff baring jacket. in my head the concept was better. when I drew it though it appeared more like a graft rather than separation. I will try and iron it out.

start you're own thread?

>friendly rivalry with Iron Assailant
Not possible, but I guess an alliance with her against a common enemy is not entirely out of the picture now.

Like the two of them working together to save Santa Claus (Iron Assailant still admires him as a commie symbol) when... mmm... Jade Empress kidnaps him to steal the magic from his christmas boots.

Yes.

>If the Code has been broken, then would GGuardian finally have alliances and friendships with some of her villains?
Iris becomes an Oracle type spy superhero called Foresight.

Hella no.

Hella yes.

Was just posting on /tg/ and am depressed to hear they no longer have creations like they used to.

Its like hearing your old primary school burned down.

Attached: Crazy_Hassan_in_the_Artic.jpg (1980x1350, 510K)

/tg/ hasn't gotten really creative in a while.

I recall the Oinkbane thread and also Death "GET IN THE FUCKING BAG" thread from what is now several years ago.
Within their creation threads they are celebrated with text and drawings, but as soon as the threads are done they are shunned and cast out, as if giving them anymore attention is part of a hidden ritual to summon unknowable horrors cast from magic foreign to their lands.

Oinkbane was amazing, wish I had the screencaps of it.

It is kind of a pity. Even a generic fantasy setting with a few interesting spins would be a cool place for visual and written material to grow.

I would have preferred if it had been chronicled better on 1d4chan, taking all the stories and arranging them in the chronology that unfolded since it had a definitive ending after he faked his death and came back years later.

Oinkbane and Crazy Hassan are examples of /tg/ doing the kind of things we do here.
More often than not, a /tg/ OC is a bit different since they are stories told of gaming sessions, like Britbongsteros, Old Man Henderson, or The Shark of the Land.

I don't get it. Although I guess my conception is always a big different from the discussion. I have never played the game, I don't understand the point of comparison.

Attached: doodle2018JAN25_spring_and_summer.jpg (1158x1200, 181K)

I liked their 40k shared setting. They had a whole sector just filled with weird shit; Scraplootas, 1st Membranes, Blood Jaguars to name some that clashed.
But that's all from 5 years ago or more now.

The latest anything new I've seen from /tg/ was when they tried to do the Sup Forumslette formula (for lack of a better term) a year or two ago and Morrgan (she draws a lot in these threads too) seemed to have had something, but ultimately /tg/ turned on it.

Though for all I know they've done more since.

Did Strummer have her power before the inversion?

Maybe, normally she'd probably have been a "sufferer" of the rare Keith Richards Disease, by which she has an Godly constitution, but pretty much everything else is a dump stat.

Probably the irreverence, and last thread's (?) idea about her using her powers to con people, the slight visual similarities are just another aspect.

Her power isn't magical, so I'd say yes.

Attached: B00MB0X.png (802x779, 389K)

Live the group shot.

Is it weird that I'm getting a Ms. Frizzle vibe from Donna Dynamo in this shot.

I think it's the skirt that does it. Reminds one of the Friz's episode-thematic dresses.

>Themed dresses
That's definitely it. I think its a good thing. Who doesn't like Ms. Frizzle.

Then you have retards that don't even read or know about how the character and universe work...

I rather hug you, because you're right.

Great design.

I like the dragon print for detail. The slight disharmony I feel from this design may come from the addition of red next to the yellow/gold and white. Might make a little busy, but I could be wrong

Another question this design brings up:
Does the mask's beauty glamour extend to Jade Empress' hair or not?

Arnold.

>Black rose = boring
Why would I fight you when you're currently right? Maybe she needs a tiny bit more characterization. I think there was some desire last thread to flesh out the SoS girls with basic blurbs so they could be added to the wiki.

Since Black Rose is basically Carmen Sandiego:
>is she a thief? or a spy? Both?
>is she femme fatale?
>is she a seductress? assassin?
>former villain?
>Does she come from another organization? Which one: CIA? Soviets? Shadowy World Government Something else?
>Is she a single, double, or triple agent? Cup or waffle cone?
That kind of stuff.

Attached: 1520698614032.png (764x543, 99K)

Have you ever watched the show? or read the books? Arnold definitely secretly loves Ms. Frizzle the most

What was the stance on spy thrillers during the 1950s?

She's supposed to be a French spy or something, but that can easily be dropped.

Yeah, the initial idea was that she's a former French Resistance spy who hunts down escaped Nazis.

Ever read Madam Mirage?
We should do that. That or The Shadow.

>she's a former French Resistance spy who hunts down escaped Nazis.
I think that's pretty cool to start with as an origin. But what makes her SoS-tier? Was she then recruited by another organization where she received super-spy training? Probably early cold-war related.

>The Shadow
Please. The shadow is a best reference.

Would take that as a side character connected to her, like the friend of Autumn's family that get's werewolf'd.

Powers or no powers?

I think conceptually she works best as the nonpowered one of the group, relying solely on her skills. Kind of a cross between The Shadow as mentioned and a French MCU Peggy Carter.

>conceptually she works best as the nonpowered one of the group, relying solely on her skills.
agreed.

Split the difference. Non powered, but uses sleight of hand trickery and theatricality to give the illusion of powers.

>Non powered, but uses sleight of hand trickery and theatricality to give the illusion of powers.
Not saying no, but why? I don't think she is a reputation-based hero with a specific set of turf like batman. If she's competent, why does it matter if people think she has powers or not?

Mobility wasnt anissue back than. And i think she isnt some sort of captain america fighting character.

Attached: Blonde_Phantom_Comics_Vol_1_16.jpg (503x756, 103K)

Besides espionage character dont need athletic costumes. I think.

Attached: shadow-mayhew.jpg (995x1250, 949K)

Is she moral? or does she work for the highest bidder? If it's the latter, is Silver Queen paying her?

I'd definitely say moral. She's a Nazi-hunting spy, not a mercenary.

The SoS are all code compliant, you wern't allowed to have any moral ambiguity back then.

Good. That's what I thought.

It's funny you mention Batman specifically because I was thinking of him in terms of people thinking he must have some kind of powers and Batman Begins is specifically why I chose the word "theatricality".

But really, I suggested it because The Shadow had powers in the radio show and movie and one of the ideas for Black Rose was that she had illusion based powers. This could be a way to combine them both.

>The Shadow had powers in the radio show
What were they?

Why Illusion powers? She's a spy, have her spread false rumors, manipulate information, and use intimidation tactics/bluffs to force surrenders.

Have her be an expert liar who could make you believe she was actually a fire breathing dragon using a life size puppet as a ventriloquist dummy.

By being a master of hypnotism he could render himself nearly invisible to his enemies and "cloud men's minds"

>/tg/ hasn't gotten really creative in a while.

Which is such a damn shame, considering that it the board where actual tabletop ROLEPLAYING goes. And also the Warhammer 40k universe.

or maybe I'm only sad because I want more Cultist-chan. And more outrageous concepts like the Angry Marines.

In the movie he also had telepathy, and later learned telekinesis. In the recent comics I'm pretty sure he had telepathy at minimum.

The whole hypnotism thing in general was explained with the latter; though with some writers they made it look a combination of scaring his victims shitless and then bluffing information out from them on the pretext that he already knows.

I saw you guys writing a female character inspired by The Shadow and I felt the need to chime in.

If you have a bunch of superpowered characters already I agree it's best to let her be the non-powered one. I second these He had hypnotic/telepathic powers that were mostly used so he could mask his presence and become invisible, but he used it in the other ways, particularly when they were experimenting during the Orson Welles run. He could do things like read minds, share visions, hypnotize people, project his voice across an entire mountain range, project the sound of "astral bells" with his mind and so on.
The comics seem to either tone down his abilities or play them up.

The reason for this was to make it easier for them to describe how The Shadow can hide from sight without describing in detail what he was doing or how he was doing it.
And since he hypnotized a crook on at least one occasion using his Girasol Ring and he did spend a lot of time in Tibet and India and etc they just had to exaggerate this to make it a superpower

WHERE WAS I WHEN THIS WAS MADE!!!!!!!!
FUCK!

Where were you last week?

From the severity of your reaction, I'd hazard a guess you're the user who did the initial SOS sketches in the first place.

no, but i really like these designs and i was doodling this kinda stuff recently.
i don't come into these threads often, usually because its always the SAME THING over and over and this is new stuff.

There was a fuckton of new pics last thread and the thread before that about the Sorority of Sentinels, the super group Silver Queen is a member of.

It's all Golden Girl related, so if you really want to nitpick, then it would be "the same thing" still, just in a new direction.

So the image I'm getting is Black Rose blends into the shadows like how a cartoon ninja disappears into them.

Attached: 1520353108394.png (1297x669, 385K)

Nah I did it. That's just what my sketches look like before I clean them up.
Also I'm casting my vote with the guys from last thread that said Audrey should grow up to be a mechanic.

Attached: guardian mechanic.png (1785x2805, 590K)

>Nah I did it. That's just what my sketches look like before I clean them up.
No, I was asking if he was the user who did the very first SOS sketches months ago.

Also...DAMN, you're making the mechanic option tempting.

based saburo

Older Audrey needs bigger biceps.

She needs to be muscley to match up with her tits.

She IS muscley.

Attached: 1486444810274.png (1442x2474, 367K)

So does the world of Golden Girl have any male heroes/villains?

Or is it just various forms of super stacked super powered women?

Triggered, where s my sassy black slave maid that waits on the Soroity of Sentials?

If that's true, why she ain't got no cuts!?

>Older Audrey needs bigger biceps.
Disagree so hard. mechanic image is perfect.

>muscley to match up with her tits.
That's not how tits work. This mechanic image is my favorite image for older audrey so far.

>So does the world of Golden Girl have any male heroes/villains?
Yes, but the female ones are all better.

>That's not how tits work.
Tits as big as hers require exercise to carry around every day. Exercise results in muscles.

>Black Rose blends into the shadows like how a cartoon ninja disappears into them.
That's one way to do it if you want to limit her powers but still give her stealth-based abilities.
The Shadow pulps usually described him like a living splotch of darkness trailing people. Of course he wasn't actually using superpowers (or was he?) but the descriptions made it look as if he wouldn't even need any sort of hypnosis. Like this part from The Shadow Laughs
>A shadow moved along the dim hall. The blot of darkness seemed to merge with the gloomy wall. The lighted room seemed to await some messenger of death. Into it came a tall black figure: a form cloaked in sable, with a broad-brimmed hat that hid the features beneath. The being might have been death itself: for he walked with an ominous stride that made no noise, even on that concrete floor.
>As though summoned by the spirits of the murdered men, The Shadow moved unhesitatingly to the trucks where the bodies had lain, and stood there, contemplating the empty spaces, as if visualizing the scene that had once been on exhibition.

Attached: Tom_Lovell_(The_Third_Skull).jpg (916x559, 305K)

>Tits as big as hers require exercise to carry around every day. Exercise results in muscles.
Not always from my personal experience, (not me, people I know). And certainly not to the degree of being a she-hulk. Women put on muscle differently than men do and 99.9999999% don't turn into she-hulks without steroids.

Also, more importantly, this is a comic, not real life.

His power was hypnosis. He hypnotized people.

It wasn't that he was psychic or anything.

And if it's a comic and not real life, it's all the more that she should have some cuts.

That's all I'm saying. She doesn't need to be a steroid abusing bodybuilder, but she should have a bit more definition.

That's all I"m saying.

>cut women
Nah, the less the better. Fit is reasonable with maybe a touch of muscle definition because she's an active superhero, but most people, especially men don't find cut, muscle women to be conventionally attractive. Not trying to shit on anyone's taste. I think saburo has nailed it with the latest mechanic pic. That golden guardian is a very good balance between attractive yet capable/powerful.

Have any of these people you know also been training to be a superhero from their early teens?

>Have any of these people you know also been training to be a superhero from their early teens?
Now that you mention it.... of course not.
I was just a point on how women, even with big boobs, don't put on muscle like men do, regardless of whether they are doing specific exercise to promote better boob support.

>It wasn't that he was psychic or anything.
He was in the radio show where he showed other powers that weren't just hypnosis. He outright explained it to Margo in Temple Bells of Neban:
>“Not too difficult. It’s secret is based on the phenomeon of telepathy combined with the science of the yoga, the same magic which gives voice to a shadow”
>“Years ago, in India, a Yogi priest, keeper of the Temple of the Cobras at Delhi, taught me the ancient mysteries. He taught me the mesmeric trick the underworld calls invisibility.
His powers were used to practice hypnosis, but it wasn't just hypnosis.

Hypnosis was a skill he had in the pulps, and it wasn't even used frequently precisely because Gibson knew how actual hypnosis worked (it couldn't be done on the fly and instead it had to be practiced on a single subject in controlled circumstances).

Attached: a matter of stillness.jpg (1040x1600, 350K)

In real life. And as you said, this is a comic, not real life.

FWIW when I draw her I figure she'd have the general build of Cho She Hulk. I'm just not as practiced in definition.

Attached: bdf70c8f8d23efdb5b16ecce609edecf.jpg (750x938, 316K)

Thank you shadow-user(s)

Feel like there's now a much better sense on what to keep/drop in terms of the shadow reference for Black Rose.

Fair enough.

And I agree, really. I just wanted a bit more muscle definition.

So who's Audrey dating? Does she have some psychic boyfriend? Because why the hell not?

I would love to see Katya (Iron Assailant), I guess that outside of costume she would have become a russian captain or lieutenant... but... if her cover as a spy remains, what would be her job? What's the opposite of a mechanic?

I suppose. But to that point it could go either roid-queen or reasonably built big boob superheroine. I guess it depends on what you find attractive.

I've previously been rather repulsed by the steroid-muscle direction Golden Guardian's been taking. More importantly, the mechanic pic is the first one I've seen that makes me actually want to create more material with the character.
Golden Guardian should be strong/capable, sure. But the overly cut, beefy muscle look should be softened a bit in my opinion. Needs less muscle definition, not more. The mechanic pic is a positive step in the right direction.

I'm not even saying her vanishing into the darkness is a super power, it's just a good visual representation of how stealthy she is.

And since we're on the subject, anyone else think Black Rose should be a like a propaganda character? Like propaganda against the red scare like how Silver Queen was propaganda against the Axis Powers.
Might give us a bigger pool of inspiration to pull from.
