Explain to me the alt-right meme

Explain to me the alt-right meme.

What exactly is it and why has the media seemingly become so fascinated by it?

...

It was a term invented by HRC's speech writers to describe anyone who disagrees with their campaign. Now stop posting.

There is no alt-right. The media are attempting to construct a boogeyman out of a loose collection of memes, so they can argue with it. After all, it's a lot easier to win a debate with a cartoon caricature of bigotry than it is with any of their actual political opponents.

Before the internet, NEETS living in their mom's basement had no power. Now we have the internet, groups of NEES living in their mom's basements have more powerful propaganda than billion dollar news organizations, because NEETS have literally all day to shitpost.

It is edgy in todays times

Sounds along the lines of what I was thinking.

It's just funny to me to see how much of a joke the MSM has become where they're literally covering cartoon frog memes.

I created it, as a joke.

The Alt-Right doesn't exist, it's a coined term created a few years ago to describe a poorly perceived movement of right-wing individuals, incorrectly grouped together. It's literally something invented as a boogeyman that only Milo and other media leeches hook onto in an attempt to put right-wingers in a box and label them.

White nationalism with memes.

It's a trap. Not even a good one. They just put a label on this new, young surge from the right to call us safely nazis before we grow into something they can't denounce

The MSM and leftists needed a term for the very loose coalition of far right and nationalist types so they came up with alt right and claimed we labeled ourselves, now they're claiming Richard Spencer is our George Soros and invented all our language and is our beloved leader.

It's not the Alt-right any more. We won the election and now that Trump has Sessions and Flynn on his team, it's clear we are in control now. We are the New Right now.

Id cum on her toes desu senpai

>why has the media seemingly become so fascinated by it?

The "alt-right" is literally just internet shitposters. They need a boogeyman to blame for their utter incompetence during this election.

It's the idea that all the world's problems are because of a cartoon frog

They invented it. I remember being on Sup Forums and everyone laughing because it came out of nowhere

Literally kill yourself

>why has the media seemingly become so fascinated by it
Literally just a scapegoat made by the Clinton campaign to brand Trump supporters as internet klan warriors

fuck off Huffington Post

they use it as a label so they can start censoring people. Thanks Milo

Alt-right = Everyone that didn't vote for Hillary Clinton.

It presents an easy target for the media and leftists to attack. A label with which they can negatively paint any opposition with, now that "racist" and "fascist" no longer really means anything as they have come to use it for everything.

That fucking jew homo and other such shite kept forcing the alt-right meme, because they want to be special.

I find it somewhat ironic that years ago, Fox News did the whole hackers on steroids thing and now Sup Forums, or at least Sup Forums is now considered right wing.

This.

"Alt-right" basically just means anyone who's right-wing on some or many issues, and doesn't feel represented by any of the current political parties. For example, if you're right-wing and both anti-mass immigration AND anti-globalisation, you'd be part of the "alt-right".

However, because it's a generic identifier for all non-conventional right-wingers, white nationalists and whatever have also been thrown in with it, so the media focuses only on those parts and tries to say that the entire thing is some sort of neo-Nazi, KKK white nationalist movement.

The media's fascination with it is coming about because of non-conventional right wingers coming to prominence, namely Le Pen, Trump, Sweden Democrats, AfD, etc., and because quite a bit of the "alt-right" supports them (which is de facto how it should be, as the conservative beliefs of people who aren't "alt-right" is already served by establishment conservative parties), the media is using the tiny amounts of white nationalists/neo-Nazis who are included under the umbrella to tar the entire movement and make it seem like any support for the new right wingers is a resurgence of Nazism, fascism and whatever other buzzword they can throw in there. It would be as ridiculous are Bernie Sanders supporters being called violent anarchists and radical Communists because some faggots in Portland living in an anti-fa commune support him too.

It's mostly a bunch of bullshit. "Alt-right" could easily be replaced with "disillusioned conservatives", "the new right", "disenfranchised right wingers" etc. It's not a term of identification, but of non-identification.

But yeah, the media is making it out to be one huge boogeyman because of some nazi pepe memes and neo-Nazis being present (not even vocal, but just *present*) so that they can try to imagine themselves in this grand struggle against fascism. Helps give them a nice feeling of moral superiority.

Absolutely pathetic desu.

This. What the MSM wants to attack are the moderates. They can't do that so they have to call them "alt-right" even though a good number are left of center.

Beautiful.

Alt-right is a fictional entity, kind of like what communists were to McCarthy. The only purpose of this label is to designate an enemy.

The actual alt-right is shit like Richard Spencer and Murdoch Murdoch. The media however calls everything anti leftist and anti SJW alt-right, because it's their new boogyman.

t. leftist anti SJW who people try to paint as an alt-right white nationalist

have the updated version

Another label by the media and sjw to target anyone who disagrees with their "progressive" ideas.
The alt-right is a meme; stormfaggotry.

Explain to me the sauce of that aryan qt3.14

This is the alt-right.
>using cuck unironically

So how do we stump people who whine about the "alt-right" whenever politics comes up? People I talk to like to just use it as a dismissal thing without addressing the actual argument and it's difficult to refute because neither side knows what the fuck it even is

Thanks senpai!

this.

if one is to take it literally, it would be everything that leans right and isn't a neocon or evangelical. this of course ends up being a hugely broad spectrum of people and since stormfronters can be filed away in there somewhere, the media and democrats have decided that everyone is now a white nationalist.

have another one I made

...

Sweeeeeet! Thanks!

Hanz you are correct.

wat

conspiracy theory set up by CIA and the Maine Stream Meteor. FBI on our side, though.

It's an old cult tactic; they don't want to explain the other side as normal people, they have to label them in an undesirable way. Hence, the meme of the alt-right (aka normal fucking Americans).

Conservativism has failed to conserve anything while progressive liberalism is destroying everything.

White people are tired of putting up with endless racist abuse in their own countries.

White men in particular are tired of living in a system which treats them like shit for their gener and skin colour - despite the fact they're the ones who built everything, maintain everything, are net-tax contributors etc.

The Alt-Right isn't anything new really - it's just a return to old school patriotic socialism.

9/10

>asks about alt-right
> posts Aryan pointing left
Nice try, FBI.
