No.

The DCEU failed because it was championed by a man who genuinely believed that sort of nonsense.

I disagree. I think the problem is that studio expects take that assumption for granted, and keep trying to change Superman to fit the post 9/11 media criteria of 'Everyone has to be an asshole and everything has to be shitty now'. And that doesn't work for supes. They can try it again and again, and its going to keep not working because thats not who the character is.

In a way, its actually kind of infuriating. We've been through worse. World wars. Smaller, bu no less traumatic, wars. We spent decades hanging by a thread over nuclear annihilation.

And a handful of assholes crash a couple planes and suddenly everyone just decides that alone is somehow we, as a country, are just not 'allowed' to get over and everything has to be dark and gritty because suddenly this is supposed to open our eyes and tell us the world is a shitty place.

As if all of the previous and much bloodier conflicts we have had in the past were somehow overlooked.

Its stupid and self centered and so painfully melodramatic.

It failed because WB put a hack in charge.

Why do you idiots even indulge this faggot?

He posted tits

Superman, bats, and wonder woman are literally useless characters now

Nobody cares about perfect people anymore

No one cares about OP, but it's important lurkers don't get the wrong idea about faggotry spreading unchallenged.

...

You're inviting people to b8 for easy (you)'s

The digits do not lie.

The DCEU failed because of Synder and Warner Bros, but maybe you have a point. I personally think that Superman needs much stronger creative vision. Give him a Nolan style interpretation or a high-concept sci-fi take, whatever really, but the lack of vision is definitely holding him back from relevance. He's kind of like the FF, there's all these amazing stories you can tell in the right hands, but they seem like they belong back in the 60's until someone comes along and shows you that they're relevant

This, but unironically

The DCEU version, is the Nolan version. He was a producer for MoS and the one to pick out Snyder. Plus Nolan is overrated anyway. Each movie just got dumber and more incoherent.

Nope, Nolan told Snyder not to have Supes kill Zod. Nolan lost control of that train the moment Snyder showed up.

>not to have Supes kill Zod
But he does that in the comics AND in Superman 2.

He still approved the general pitch and the following script from Goyer. The neck snap is just the culmination of the movie which is why people focus on it. If it was a good movie with the right tone, it would have been accepted. I found the Kiss in the midst of multiple 9/11 in worst taste. The neck snap was just the ending of utter boredom for most of the boredom, bafflement at the missing of the character of everybody involved and the almost gleeful destruction. Every Superhero movie has destruction but they don't feel like the director is jacking off to it.

He would've been appealing if he wasn't such a sour puss

What is that red thing inside her panties?

the last movies have made over 700 million dolars, justice league made less because it was going against Star Wars and Joss Whedon made the movie bland in some parts.

Besides that the DCEU is doing fine, remember that no matter what you say even Suicide Squad was loved by audiences, the soundtrack alone sold more than real albums the year it came out

>justice league made less because it was going against Star Wars

It went against Thor, DC shill.

Except literally nothing except for Social Justice League could even remotely be considered a failure. The Director's Cut of Dawn of Justice is literally getting a Criterion release and financially it was a massive success.
