>Implying this is going anywhere
>Implying Bendis won't just do whatever he wants

Good job OP, this was a pretty nice read. Good to see my man Cyborg-Superman getting SOME form of mercy and happiness, and the family dynamic between Lois and Sam was nice too.

Thanks again for the storytime, and may Bendis have mercy on us all...

So he didn't know about Zod in the Zone before this? What about Mon-El?

What the fuck Jurgens

>King of the World
ha!

We Identity Crisis 2 The Cyborging now

>the Kents

wat? you dont call you maw and paw like that.

Thanks, OP. I feel like it needed another page of Clark talking to Sam, but it was pretty nice

oh good give the man that can control any and all technology kryptonian technology that's a great idea.

Jurgens just wanted to give his character a happyish ending.

Jurgens... what?

I guess, do you know what his thoughts on Cyborg Superman were during blackest night? Because that was a pretty fucked ending.

I would love to know what he thought.

At least we still remember cyborg superman...

i feel bad for supes

They really should have done a different cover.

Yeah that cover is a silver age click bait cover. Nothing remotely like that happens in the book.

Manhattan is coming for you, Kal

The mercy is an illusion without choice.

Believe user. Believe that Superman will save Bendis.

The fuck else do you do against someone that can’t die even when he wants to!

>What is the United States of America, excluding Texas.

>BECAUSE IM BATMAN

Captain America BTFO

We all know the writer will not give 2 thoughts about this promising premiss and just make it the typical
>Ohh, he betrayed your good intentions. How suprising.

Meh.

Who the fuck goes "They're artificial" for flowers??????

>excluding

I found this run lukewarm and the decision to Black Mercy Henshaw seems odd but I see a bit of potential. what if he does reform? he's literally a genocidal maniac.I can see Supes and Hal butting heads over him. and At the least I can see Hank helping out against the Zod family after they used him.

But seriously, was Superman unaware of the Phantom Zone's purpose before Zod showed up recently?

>Last regular Jurgens issue
Thank you, lord jesus

>Bendis coms forth
WAS IT WORTH IT

>Jon has TWO grandfathers
It still fucking hurts.

I know he was referring to his biological father...why is Jurgens so against the Kents? Is there some part of him that hates superman being raised human?

Weird to bring Hank back into continuity given Kara's own Cyborg Superman and DC's also doing another Fantastic Four pastiche with The Terrifics

>2 grandfathers
>But never the best grandfather

I feel bad for Jon never being able to meet Jon

So guessing this part about Jor-El being the jailer to Zod, Ursa and Val-Zod means that Chris Kent doesn't exist in the Reborn time line change and Supes wasn't aware of his birth in the Zone until he met them with Booster?

I'm glad Jurgens is off this. I'd rather they have done this to Blanque which was just a pretty awful OC, but hey, you can't have everything.

Jurgens for you.

And WHERE is the statue to Ma and Pa?

Apparently this is Jurgens last way to fuck things up before they toss him back on Batman Beyond or wherever he ends up.

>Thank you, lord jesus

THIS

I'm open minded on Bendis. I'll give it an arc. Jurgens was painful, and I read almost all of it for two years and what I haven't gotten will get read, so I can deal with Bendis, who is edited, and who had two OCs already in Jinx World ready to be released and thus won't need to insert them in Superman, and I also assume he'll be more edited than he was in Marblelandia.

It doesn't even seem like his aware of Mon-El, much less Chris.

That's actually a good point. General Lane isn't being an asshole about it...and there's precedent of Superman taking bad decisions. The "decides we've made a mess of things" sounds A LOT like Kal-L during Infinite Crisis

Still a better option than the Zone. The Zone always seemed really fucked up to me, you can’t even die in there. It’s like being sent to hell.

>Kara's own Cyborg Superman
He’s dead, Oz killed him.

But Kara indicates she knew of the Zone in the first arc of Supergirl; this is why I think Jurgens is a crappy writer

Heh I think Jurgens was the one who had an Injustice expy world get destroyed during Convergence.

Not gonna lie, Clark, it sure is looking like the Lanterns could use your help right now.

I wish that one day Jon met his REAL granddad.

Now that you mention it I actually think she and Batgirl visited the Zone at one point. Not that I would give much credit to Orlando either

how can lois and clark afford such a nice apartment in the city?

Uncle Brucy

Jurgens didn't write Convergence, just the zero issue.

I like that a writer is finally acknowledging how inhumane a prison the Phantom Zone is. Like the bottle city of Kandor, it's a necessary stop gap but Superman would never be satisfied leaving things as they are indefinitely.

Lanterns are in a constant state of fucking up so it's really whatever

I'm kind of hoping/assuming they deliberately left the Kents dead because it's going to be addressed as part of the whole Dr Manhattan thing. They had a prime opportunity to bring them back with Reborn and they didn't take it.

Not to mention, Clark dreaming of the Kents dying was the first (and only) appearance he made in Doomsday Clock.

Black Mercy seems smarter since it's non tech

Yea.

>Never sharing a summer with Ma and Pa on the farm.

The biggest tragedy of all.

Kal Penn was in Superman Returns?

Yep
He was one of Luthor's stooges

GOOD RIDDENS JURGENS, FUCK YES BENDIS IS COMING BOYS!

> one final Cyborg Superman appearance from Jurgens.
YEEEEEESSSSSS!!

This really isn't a bad line of think T B H. If supes were to go insane one day then he could just cause so much damage and destruction.

Hank's been back in continuity since Lois & Clark mini after Convergence and even showed up in Supergirl when Kara's pop got defeated. Though technically he was already in the New 52 in that Team 7 comic working on a project that involved some Wildstorm android and it got lose and cyborged everyone besides Hank. Hank retained his persona helped Team 7 and begged Slade to kill him. He did.

I know Sam Lane was always a dick, but usually to Superman. I dont remember him being this assholish with Lois or Clark.

>saves Henshaw
>doesn't save Chris

into the trash it goes

I know you have the best of intentions, Clark, but you surely want to do this BEFORE having to leave for a family meeting? Can't you wait 2 hours?

How can Superman save what cannot be saved?

you will never see the happiness in Ma Kent while looking at her grandson for the first time

you will never see the pridein Pa Kent's eyes of all the good his son and grandson are doing in the world

It doesn't even have to be Superman getting bored, there are dozens of villains who can and have taken control of his mind.

> Jurgens last regular issue involved the Cyborg Superman.
