The newest Young Animal series.

I liked this issue, but it IS basically that one Elemental Woman issue from The Sandman.

In all fairness, the writer admits to taking her inspiration for this story from Elemental Woman.

Yet I still like this issue a lot and think it's one of the stronger YA launches

Is this based off of Kid Eternity?

Oh, cool. I mean, it's obvious that that's what it's based on, but it's good that she didn't try to hide it.

Sonny Liew deserves better writers. First Levitz and now Vissagio.

You don't need quotes in the boxes auuuggghhh.

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-014.jpg (1988x3056, 735K)

Wait till you see outragefags shitting on art, cause they don't like the writer. He didn't deserve this.

not a fan that she was made by the company. A cosmic accident would be a far better way to approach this story

ah fuck, not sure if I should read this.. Too Real. I had an accident a while back and after that everything started going downhill and think sometimes that that was my real end and I'm just going through motions.

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-022.jpg (1988x3056, 1.42M)

I'm sorry to hear that, man.

Are you turning into smoke and fading in and out of reality/spacetime?

jk hope you feel better soon user! :)

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-024.jpg (1988x3056, 995K)

>Are you turning into smoke and fading in and out of reality/spacetime?
no, but yes to the later. Reality is fucked, heh I have good and bad times though it, like everyone. past month has been low, gotta find something to hold onto again

That was actually pretty good

Can someone explain this to a brainlet that doesn't read many artsy not-so-straightforward books like this?

So the "ghost" of a villain she killed has informed her that the only way she can die is to break spacetime? The universe keeps finding a way to "reset" whenever she dies/suicides, even in freak accidents like truck accident hitting the cafe?

And the way to escape that is to destroy this machine thing? And why did she say "ALPHA 13 #27"? Is she existing in a comicbook meta kind of way?

pls help. Loved the issue though!

You can always hold onto me user.

Why would you think that?

>So the "ghost" of a villain she killed has informed her that the only way she can die is to break spacetime?
Yes
>The universe keeps finding a way to "reset" whenever she dies/suicides, even in freak accidents like truck accident hitting the cafe?
Yes
>And the way to escape that is to destroy this machine thing?
Possibly
>And why did she say "ALPHA 13 #27"? Is she existing in a comicbook meta kind of way?
Strong yes.

How is it? I was interested because I want to give every YA book a chance, but I saw a generally negative response to the backup story in Milk Wars(which I've yet to read). And before someone says to read it myself, if I do that I would feel like buying it is a waste of money.

>I listen to reviiieewwws
You're a moron. And for your information this issue got only 9/10 and 10/10 from pretty much all reviewers.
I didn't like it, it was slight.

>book about destroying all of time and space.
Funny as I was told the world is gonna end this month.

Thanks for the answers, okay so I actually understood more than I thought.

Really good!

I'm not talking about reviews, I'm talking about people here in storytimes.

I didn't bother reading the backup in Milk Wars but OP prolly should've posted it, wasn't it an origins story?

Hey, the art isn't SHADE levels of shit!
I'm all in, mate.

Nobody here really commented on the backups much.

Hold on, something I missed:

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-026.jpg (1987x3056, 1.65M)

I read them, forgot them, read this and don't care about those backups. Obviously you don't need them

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-027.jpg (1987x3056, 1.65M)

From JLA/Doom patrol issue.

Attached: RCO033.jpg (1041x1600, 747K)

It was a "meta" origin story about the "real world" history of the character. Think the "My Greenest Adventure" Flex Mentallo stuff.
I don't really have time to track it down now, though.

Attached: Eternity Girl (2018-) 001-028.jpg (1987x3056, 1.18M)

That's true, but most of the comments I did see were negative. That can be more of a red flag than dozens of responses to pages that piss people off.

Attached: RCO034 (1).jpg (1041x1600, 785K)

The backups were two pages much and aside from a few "wtf iz dis" there weren't any comments on them.

Cheers, user.
I think it's mostly because people hate the author for Twitter reasons and also because she's transgender.

Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye, cool

Didn't she also write a Elemental Woman backup in Shade The Changing Girl?

JOKERJEORKERJEROEIRKEROEKREORKER

Its because she's pretentious and hyper aggressive and wants the genocide of all cis men.

From Mother Panic/Batman ossue.

Attached: RCO039 (1).jpg (1041x1600, 523K)

So, yeah, for Twitter reasons.

Attached: RCO040 (1).jpg (1041x1600, 503K)

Not like she's a good writer.

From Shade the Changing Girl/Wonder woman issue.

Attached: RCO037 (1).jpg (1041x1600, 427K)

Attached: RCO038.jpg (1041x1600, 447K)

From Cave Carson has a cybernetic eye/Swamp thing issue.
>I ship Wild dog/Chloe

Attached: RCO038 (1).jpg (1041x1600, 297K)

Attached: RCO039 (2).jpg (1041x1600, 300K)

From the Doom Patrol/JLA issue, you can see how the backups are all connected.
Expect more meta in the future I guess.

Attached: RCO032.jpg (1041x1600, 209K)

I like the issue even more after reading the backups. She's an endlessly rebooted/relaunched D-list character that doesn't want to be rebooted anymore, that's a great hook.

oh, those backups never made sense seperated as they were. Reading them together makes them understandable

This is dangerously meta. Why is DC so obsessed with breaking down the walls of reality like this? Is Grant Morrison's Spell still in effect?

Attached: Just as planned.jpg (750x905, 154K)

Watching B:TAS. Nice.

>Why is DC so obsessed with breaking down the walls of reality like this?
Because they're producing a dozen meta books?

It's good but people will pretend it's not because they don't like the writer

Solid concept. I'm pretty full up on mentally iffy people in therapy, and meta, but it's definitely better than average and what I was expecting.

If feels like a more abstract more depressed Gwenpool.

>It's good but people will pretend it's not because they don't like the writer
There seems to be far more posting premptively bitching about people bitching than people actually bitching about the writer.

For what purpose? The answer is that the DC universe is alive amd trying to communicate to us.
Right?

I would read a lot more capeshit if the supers were these strange otherworldy beings instead of Chads and Stacys in skintight spandex.

...

bump

This was pretty good first issue, if the quality keeps up it may become among the better YA books.

>shitting on Marley
Fuck outta here.

bump

>premptively bitching about people bitching
People that will inevitably be bitching haven't been told what to think yet. I believe they can rise up to the occasion.

Yes

I can assure you that you aren’t. If you were really dead and going through the motions, you’d have better things to do than be on Sup Forums. Also I’m real, for starters

No one cares, kys.

I feel like the writer wanted to do an Element Girl series, but DC told them no.

lol wut

I like that art, it's cute
