I still say that it's because the artists are not used to drawing women with short hair, so it's like they just instinctively draw her like a man. Because it's not like it's a mandate from Marvel or stupid shit like that, cause there are at least three artists who very clearly draw her like a woman.
But anyone else and she either looks ugly or like a man - it's like they can't get out of the mindset that only men have short hair.
Which SUCKS cause I love the short hair look, but if it means these artists drawing her like a woman, then for the better I guess.

First of all, short hair and sports bra fit her personality and backstory. Her personality as a no-nonsense hero who deals with her threats in a quick and usually lethal way (which she had even BEFORE the revamp) and her backstory as a soldier both fit a practical 'military' look.
Second, there is a TON of female characters with long hair and big boobs. She-Hulk, Poison Ivy, Black Widow, Black Cat, Harley Quinn, Power Girl, Zatanna, Black Canary, Wonder Woman...
I can think of THREE characters TOTAL that have practical costumes - Kamala Khan, Spider-Woman and Batgirl - and all of them also have long hair. So Marvel's practical costume and short hair makes her stand out from all the other characters.
