r@spberries does an excellent Mandy, especially since their Mandy lines up more with Pilot/Season 1 Mandy, back when she had more emotions than "scowling angry apathy" like how she got in the later seasons(like yeah GAOBAM got funnier as it went on, but that was achieved at the cost of both Billy and Mandy becoming shallower characters, although ironically pretty much every other recurring character ended up getting at least some development)
which actually leads into a good question for Sup Forums in this thread, if you were to be in charge of a GAOBAM revival, what direction would you take the titular duo in, presuming that at least some changes had to happen?

If Mandy lives in a town of complete idiots that she can manipulate at her whim, what does she see in Billy that makes her continue to hang out with him? And why isn't Billy afraid of Mandy like everyone else?

honestly for a GAOBAM revival I'd probably phase that part out, in the later parts of the show things often became too easy for Mandy because of that, so one of the reasons she's friends with Billy is that he's reliable and loyal(I'd be heavily toning down how stupid Billy is supposed to be for one thing, he's still not particularly smart, but he's not a complete moron either), and she appreciates that

I like to picture it as Billy being able to see the real Mandy, behind all the grumpiness is a girl capable of all the emotions any normal person has*, that and honestly I figure Billy just plain loves Mandy, heart and soul
*Mandy got really boring as a character once the writers decided she'd just permanently be a perpetually angry grump, so here she'd be a lot more variable in emotions(and yes that means she'd actually smile and laugh occasionally)

not really heresy, heck one of the posts you quoted is a screencap from the show, as has been talked about already, the show had a huge issue regarding Mandy being flanderized into an an "angry tree stump" to use the show's own words
basically it's much more interesting to base fanworks of Mandy on how she was in the pilot and first season of the show when she had more emotions in her than anger and apathy

Somewhere in the middle of the season, my executive would call and say “We need the Mandy openers!” I’d then spend a couple of days or a week putting together the best lines I could and ‘boarding them out.
I’d write as many as I could myself, and then find fun Mandy-ish quotes from literature or pop culture and fill in the gaps.
I still keep note pages full of “Mandy lines”, for all the good they do me. One of my favorites was, “Quick, jump into the TV while they’re not looking!” I don’t know how that one didn’t get crushed by the censors. Anyway, people, I can’t tell you how proud I am never to have gotten an angry letter from one of your moms. By not actually jumping into the TV, you proved to me that Billy and Mandy fans are the best. You’ve pretty much nailed this whole “differentiating reality from fiction” thing. It’s a low bar with me. It doesn’t take much. I love you.
Coincidentally, I did make a few new “Mandy Openers” recently. Just for fun. Y’know. Because I like fun…
