Make him despise korra and challenges her to be a better persom

Make him grow beyond just being the comic relief character, like with Sokka.

Make it canon that Amon raped him

He's like the only main character who doesn't need a rewrite. He's humble, friendly, enthusiastic, and good at what he does. He's not perfect, though, and is plagued by a lack of self-confidence and almost no initiative.

Literally the only change I might make is to pair Korra with him, but that's more for her benefit than his.

Put him in a new show, he’s the Avatar after Korra and just wants to live a normal-ish life since the world’s advanced enough to not need an Avatar.

>Bolin
>despise anybody

Nothing. Bolin is the best character in LoK

>His lavabending is hinted at before the temple escape
>From lavabending, he creates his own style of metalbending, where he has to melt it first before he can use it
>He gets concrete confrontations with Kuvira on why he joins/why he leaves her operations, including arguments about what the fuck that ethnic cleansing shit was about
>Have him return to confront Kuvira, and show disdain at 'but I'm an orphan excuse'
>Rewrite season 2 so that it's better
>Have him create his own lava/metalbending school after series 4
>Or have him campaign for Republic City President
>Explain where Pabu came from

It's not like Bolin is the worst written out of nuGaang. Mako loses all personality post season 1, Asami is a literal wallflower who somehow has better chemistry with Bolin than any of the people she actually dates, and Korra fucking murders street mooks and acts brashly, while always letting scummy dictators have 'one final warning'.

Bolin is a good boy. It’s pretty much every other aspect of LoK that needs fixing

He is ideologically aligned with Kuveira in more than just a superficial naive sense. He offers an alternative explanation for her actions that make it less ambiguous that she's evil.

Perhaps write it so that it's not just that he's some idiot who gets roped into whatever the villain wants, but as a guy looking for real stability and something to believe in.

Explore Bolin's motives for joining Kuvira. Hint that he joined to make the Earth Kingdom a better place—so more people like Ghazan don't kill themselves trying to make a change and more families don't live in the same conditions as his.

It's funny, because Bolin is one of the very few characters in LoK that doesn't desperately need rewritten.

Hes probably the most solid character in the show, so I don't think he needs any changes

>character
It'd have to be the entire show friend.

If I am forced to keep him in the show beyond the initial 12 episodes I am are guaranteed, then give him a purpose to being in the show. He, Mako, and Asami have nothing of themselves beyond the jobs that the writers kept throwing at them which did nothing for them since there was no motivation to align with following a story.

If he is only a season 1 character then get rid of him as a "main character" and only have him be in one episode like the village of the week places/characters Aang/Zuko would interact with. He's a terrible character on his own even with the writers not knowing a thing about writing.

Describe how Bolin's character at the start of the show is different than at the end.

Where they got Pabu was explained in an online short.

and Zhu Li is running for President now.

>Describe how Bolin's character at the start of the show is different than at the end.
Don't. It's the same 12 people who constantly defend the character and think making jokes that aren't funny is a reason to keep him on the show.

make him a gay character

A character doesn't need to evolve to be a good one. You can have a good static character that never gets worse and have them be the best character in the show that constantly goes downhill.

That being said, they had to invent things after S1 to give Bolin character flaws. Despite being pompous on his very first appearance he's apparently shit at interviews and PR in Season 2, plus has confidence issues in S3 due to not being able to metalbend.

The only thing I'd change about him is how he was a dick in S2 and only thirsty for Opal in S3 and 4. Make him fall into a rich lifestyle and not know what to do with actual wealth, then have him interrupt and throw away his own career to save the president as a character moment. Keep the fight as is, that fight was the best in the entire series. Then just make lavabending much lower in scale, how Ghazan originally only used a small disc. Lava's fucking dangerous, and should be used in smaller doses so when Ghazan goes full volcano, it actually has an impact.

Make his simpleness also the perfect, reasonable responses. Common sense and straight forwardness should be what sets him apart.

And give him a goal. Straightforward. He needs one, because he doesn't have one.

And then he kills her unborn twins, right?

>earth guy is simple and straightforward

How cliche.

It's a children's story and there's twenty other characters.

Change Bolin from comic relief to a rival who's quick witted and bold. Have him be a nonbender that thrives to surpass all benders and show other nonbenders that can be just as strong as benders by themselves., which means to beat the avatar in a fair fight. He have no family members except for his Grandma who always scolds for his stupid actions and not becoming a caretaker. His thrive to be the nonbender that can beat any bender is years of being made fun, bullied, and berated by benders all his life. This will also make a parallel to Amon(only if he wasn't two-faced and an actual nonbender). Making Amon represents how one wants to oppress another group for the sake of the other, while the other can inspire and help the group being oppressed and giving them hope. And since the Avatar is a girl, he tries to flirt with Korra constantly and always making her blush. Have him be Korra companion/rival throughout the entire series. Not only the writers will only have to focus on two characters and developing their relationships, but having the support actually doing stuff by doing small things or doing entire chain of events that moves the plot. He also the one to criticize Korra every time she's doing something stupid or bad, since she's the Avatar(like slapping her for threatening to kill the water judge guy and being disappointed in her). This will solve how Korra is never actually challenged by people voices who matters and force to some retrospective and change her behavior. He's as strong as some of the other top benders because he spent years of training of spirituality and deconstructing the elements style that can abuse and counter. And he's fighting style is always a boxer. He'll also fight any bender that seems strong with no anticipation, like seeing Kurvira for the first time and fighting. It's now the end of season 4 and he and Korra have an all out brawl and ending with a tie.

>implying that dynamic characters are the only good ones
You fool.

There's a twist to the tie, Korra wagered that if she won, Bolin have to anything she ask for the rest of his life, but if she doesn't Bolin can do the same. Bolin points out that Korra never said if she loses, but if she didn't win, meaning Bolin won, another frustrated Korra face here. He kneels on one leg and proposes to Korra to be his wife. Korra cries and say yes and kisses Bolin. Final images of the show is Korra and Bolin being married and having kids, while Bolin starting his school of martial arts.

I came up with all of this because of the of my first reply pic and liked it.

If they kept Korra the same as they had written her, if they actually wrote her well, then people would still be upset. But those same people will give a pass to others. Like this person here who just creates the "perfect" character meanwhile deliberately makes the title protagonist still the same as how the show writers wrote her.

Sounds like a shitty shonen character

This is intensely awful

Turn him into a lesbian who loves scat, but only from niggers with a height of 1.40 meters or less, and just 3 days per week because the others he's working as an animal rescuer as a way to cope with the death of his paraplegic newborn son, who wasn't his because his wife cheated on him with his best friend Anthony, who died in a war trying to protect Republic City from the sand people after their life style of animal trafficking and women slavery was put to a stop by Aang, who got HerpAIDS by one of those slaved women named Nicole, who got captured after running away from her home to marry Zuko after the death of his wife, trying to live a life of commodities and wealthiness just by using her looks, like she did all these years by seducing rich old men and then killing them, but leaving enough evidence to be discovered by the police, in which Bolin's father was the Police Chief trying to stop her, but gets killed by the bending abiities of Nicole's boyfriend, making Bolin resent the benders and thus acquiring the identity of Amon.

You miss the point. If Korra had been written well and would’ve remained static, she would be received well simply based on the fact that she’d be a good character despite being static. The same principle applies to people who might like Bolin regardless of the fact that his character didn’t change much throughout the series. It relies on a pretty simple principle: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

I would have made him gay honestly. Here's a guy who's a swole pro-athlete with literal movie-star good looks, has fangirls, and yet seems almost totally naive and inexperienced around women, particularly in the early seasons.

Yes, that's mostly because he's the comic relief character, but it seems like a credible place to start if you want to have a gay character. He tries to date women because as far as he knows, that's what you do.

During season four he stays on Kuvira's side longer and have him finding out about Kuvira purging non-Earth Kingdom citizens be what makes him switch. He's of mixed descent so it would be a more believable reason for him to switch.

Quit my Job

This guys gets it

>Where they got Pabu was explained in an online short.
Got a link to that?
This is the first I've heard of it.

At the very least it makes more sense than turning Korra and Asami bisexual...

Make him the main character

This

He ends being better than Korra on every aspect, Korra gets her ass beaten, and he saves the day, the morale of the story is, "you don't need to be the chosen one, you only need to believe in yourself and work hard to achieve anything"

Make him the main character and dating those twins.

>make a character gay
>this somehow improves the character
God you fags need to leave

First I'd give him a goatee. That would be a good start.
