Marco is a man out of time and all these pairings seem weird in that context.
They show him coming out as a mature, realized person by the end of that episode, but that never comes without struggle. And living a lifetime in isolation from everyone and everything you've ever known does things to you.
I kind of wish they'd acknowledge it a little bit that he's essentially a 30 year old dude wearing his past self's prepubescent skin, and I get why they can't for that same reason, but it's just something I really can't shake when I watch the show.

But everyone can use the wand, this was a plot already in season 1, so it's kinda pointless, Marco maybe be a special case because of the cheek marks, but that doesn't mean that only he can use magic.
All I want in "Booth Buddies" is for Star to break down about pic related to Marco. I wanna see tears, sadness, questioning her self identity, everything. Then I want Marco to just be her rock and give her legitimately positive and uplifting advice on how she can deal with the situation not as her squire, but as her most trusted confidant and best friend. Then I guess if you wanna throw in shipping drama have those two share a very tender and heartfelt embrace and the booth takes a photo of it and Tom ends up seeing it or something.

I understand why some of the squires may resent him as it's unorthodox being the squire to the princess, and he has an easier job being one as well as it being a minor case of nepotism, but I would expect many of them to admire him for what he's accomplished.
Also Higgs is cute and I wanted her to show up more and to not be a total cunt. They really could have done a better job in having Marco gained some respect by having him end up giving Higgs the armor wax and having her act like she trick'd him only for her to help him later in some small way to show that she still appreciated it.

I was getting at that since there's no explanation for how their line got the wand in the first place (never claimed they invented it), it seems likely they've always just been ordinary Mewmans wielding it and that literally anyone with enough exposure to/practice with the wand would develop the same marks and Butterfly form. There's no such thing as a "real" Butterfly physically because they all came from magic/the wand.
Or at least it makes sense to me that way. Glossaryck's been around longer than any of them so I'd guess the wand could have been made by him.
