Yeah, ...they changed some stuff, then Rebirth comes in and makes it less bad. Absolutely No Terry at any point though. Roy and Donna are kind of flirty.
I have no idea what Cassie is up to after TT got an extreme makeover in Rebirth.

It'd be pretty easy to explain why Donna likes him. He's a grown man with minimal drama, a stable life, and a career. When your own personal history gets shifted around every other year and all your friends are mired in melodrama, a guy with five years left on his mortgage and a 401(k) who drives an Acura to his 9-5 job is like a spotlight to a moth. All you have to do is drop the teacher dating his student background and author self-insertion and he's fine.
