X-Men General, also EXiles

I am reading this for the first time and already dreading reaching the moment when EXiles Mimic dies.

What a terrible death, this guys is the best x-men leader after Rightclops and 80s Mohawk powerless Storm. I think it may be even a worse (as in pointless bad decision) death than the Hellions getting killed by Fitzroy.

At what point does this comic get bad? I am around issue 30something

Is there a way to make Mimic happen? 616 one has the problem of being forever stuck permanently with the powers of the original x-men, and he is also quite overpowered (he can fully copy the powers of superpowered beings who are like in a radius of a mile around him), that makes him rather unusable.

He doesnt have the same limits of Exiles Mimic (only 5 and at half their strength, if he learns a new power he has to forget one of the 5 he knew before).

It's a shame the new Exiles book is pretty much no longer an x-men book

When Chris Claremont gets on, STOP!!!

His run crashes the entire franchise

Literally this. Don't try to be cute and go all "I'm going to keep reading for fun, maybe it's so bad it's good". It's not.

Rogue a pure

Ill storytime Civil War: House of M (the last 2 issues)
because it's xmen related, I was planning to do it on the thread that got archived that compared comic book battles to manga/anime battle, and it has Mimic (the House of M one who is identical in abilities to the 616 on)

So who will write x-men after relunch? Hickman, would be cool tbqh.

Attached: 1517742286893.jpg (639x601, 192K)

wew

bump

I would prefer someone like Carey who known the x-men and their history and continuity like the back of his hand. We need a writer like that because we can't trust the editors to do their job.

In Hickman's Secret Wars the X-Men had a minimal role, and Cyclops was only there to get killed by Doom and show how much more powerful than the Phoenix Doom had become.
He spent years creating oc characters in his avengers run, from the zebra kids to the builders to black swan, but there was no masterplan behind all that, they werent pieces in some well designed thing.

Most of the characters in the two rafts were pointless, Terrax was there only to get step on by Galactus in a funny moment.
The more I think of Secret Wars the more shit I think it is (except for the tie ins based in Battleworld domains). It was a bloated mid size fantastic 4 story with many pointless characters.

His SHIELD was great

>What a terrible death, this guys is the best x-men leader after Rightclops and 80s Mohawk powerless Storm.
Seriously, it's like whoever wrote it (I forget) wanted to like... humiliate him or something before he killed him. Mimic was great, whenever I have power fantasies about being a hot shot comic book writer some day I always include some way to bring Mimic-12 back.

I think the writer wanted to push AoA Sabretooth and didnt like Mimic, or felt the team wasnt big enough for the 2, or wanted to ship Blink with Creed.
For a while much of the team was AoA, Blink, Sabretooth, Holocaust. + a Morph who wasnt AoA but was pretty much identical to that one

What the fuck happened to Havok? Saw him last time in IvX.

So how do we bring back Scott?

>Blink x Sabretooth
Fucking gross. Honestly I liked the boyfriend/protective dad thing between Mimic and Sabretooth. Mimic dying was pretty much where this book fell off for me.

Havok is still inverted from Axis. Morally inverted, evil.

He is working with Bastion, Miss Sinister and Emma (Emma and Havok are working together)
They all want to increase the number of mutants for different reasons. Bastion is an AI programmed to kill mutants, he has realized he will die if he kills all mutants, he wants to increase their number to slaughter mutants again without risking his life (he is trapped in a vicious circle).

Miss Sinister wants to control the new mutants she creates

Emma probably wants to undo M Day, and karmic revenge for the terrigen mist cloud

Havok wants mutants to rule the planet

As soon as their fulfill their plans and increase the number of mutants, they (miss sinister, bastion, havok and emma) will betray each other and try to kill each other

-----

most Scott fans want a "Cyclops, the resurrection" event, a glorious return. I would prefer a normal event that allows to resurrect him, but without the event being about Scott. Similar to how Doug was resurrected in Necrosha.
And I also prefer Scott to have something like a mid life crisis, instead of the glorious return of Rightclops leader of mutantkind.

Mutants arent endangered anymore, new ones have been appearing the the end of AvX, the terrigen mist crisis ended, and the x-men of the mansion wouldnt accept to take orders from Scott.
Also Jean is alive and Scott may go running at full speed towards her, as it happened when she resurrected in the 80s.

>Meanwhile, I will be back in the X-Mansion, a place I used to work as an assistant editor back in the days of the Wolverine/Cyclops Schism. We've got big stuff planned for the mutants of the world, just you wait!

Post-Schism is the last good X-status quo I can remember so cautious optimism!!

What’s the word on the writer of that Dazzler one shot? I want it to be good.

I read the Genosha arc before Inferno to prep for X-user storytimes and I’ve been saddened

So you're saying he hasn't been in a midlife crisis since avx? kek
