You have a magician who can handle all the 'classic' magic.
A magical princess who has offensive and combat capabilities and could protect the others while they prep spells.
A demonologist and mystic who can take care of trippy, interdemensional stuff.
And you have a magical powerhouse the just power through massive physical threats and act a conduit to serious mystical might.
Plus Mary and Amethyst can commiserate with each other about what it's like to both be young teenage girls running around transformed into bombshell superheroine.
