Why did everything after Season 2 suck?

So s1 and 2 is worth watching
is american dragon worth watching again

It was still watchable up through to the Shadowkhan season. The last season was a total OC donut steel trainwreck that I didn't even know was on while it was airing until I caught a rerun.

I'd say so. Jade's one of the least annoying kid characters from the time and actually gets some useful things done.

Though they kind of get rid of the demons pretty fast in season 2, it probably would've been better if they left them run around for an episode.

Probably, but they over use the slang in S1

>The last season was a total OC donut steel trainwreck
What season was that?

Not enough of this smug bastard. Voice actor change also didn't help.

The fifth and last season, right after the Shadowkhan season.

The main villain is Shendu's son who's half dragon demon or some shit.

Demon Chi with Shendu's son

Shendu's son was a stupid villain, but the demon chi concept was alright.

What's sad is that all the villains rely on the exact same three henchmen.

>tfw you find out Jackie didn't voice himself

I liked S4 though, I thought the Oni masks and different types of Shadow Khan were cool. Also Terrakudo was more entertaining than Shendu or Dao long wong.

And the series' penchant for shitting on Valmont later was great.

Eh, it was still alright

Older Jade got my peepee hard, but I have to admit that without her the last season would be really, really forgettable

I don't remember ever watching that
seems it was for the better

The masks were pretty cool

It was good give it a chance

Mask giving you control over shadow armies of ninjas was 10/10 idea
I remember being super hyped for that shit and disappointed when I realized that they wouldn't use them to their full potential anyway

I was surprised, too.

God the episodes about the history of the world being changed was awesome. When was that?

Season 2 two parter

Demon World

....How were you surprised? Cartoon Jackie and real Jackie sound nothing alike.

cos it's BOLTED TO THE FLOOR

Season 3 wasn't too bad, even if it was just basically a retread of season 1 but with literal animals, it was still fun. Season 4 was pretty solid because of the role reversal with Tohru and Uncle. But season 5 was definitely the weakest. Drago or whatever his name just felt very fanfiction-y in concept (like, who the hell was his mother if he was only half half-demon?), and pretty much just repeated the second season but with the powers of the demons instead of the actual monsters. Plus, it felt like they were trying to leave as many possibilities for more seasons by having things like the bad guys all alive but just locked up or whatever instead of newer evils arriving.

One word: Jade.

Paco is your first one

One complaint I have is that Uncle's magic was reduced to "shoot beam at enemy." Compare his first duel with Dao Long Wong to pretty much every encounter with him in Season 3.

>protagonist gains control of the forces of evil and uses them to perform mundane tasks
If this isn't a trope, I want it to be.

Is there any fanart of adult Jade that gives her a normal-sized head? That shit's straight retarded.

Did being part of the greatest animation block in history make it seem better than it actually was?

No it was legit kid cartoon kino. It had everything. Action, romance, comedy worldbuilding lore and mythos. It didn't matter that it was monster of the week. The fights were so cool and the magic was amazing.

well JR got the wigger trio at some point and left the original goons to redeem themselves at the last episode

I love how filler episodes would sometimes set up a villain in a later season

HEY JACKIE

Something like this, user?

Especially bad at the series finale. Tohru just walks up and says "hey what if we tried this spell?" no prep needed, no special items or anything, just the regular spell with the blowfish or lizard or w/e and it just fixes everything immediately

Why is ever 7-11 year old American boy sound exactly like me?

I really don't remember the show until you brought it up.
>S1: General adventures with Jackie, Jade tags along. Dark Hand was interesting, threatening, talismans were cool as shit. Horse Master Race. The finale with Shendu and Tohru coming to the good side was great.
>S2: Even better. The demons all had their unique designs and personalities and it gave Tohru some good development with Uncle and Jade, who also kept proving to herself she was valuable as an ally to the group. Fuck Paco.
>S3: Also a good season, though it gets a little...eh. Finding the animals with the talisman powers were interesting and it was at this point where the Dark Hand was getting stale. Hak Foo was the best member.
>S4: My favorite season with all the different Shadowkhan, I never saw the finale, exactly how did it end? I don't think they showed it on TV.
>S5: I really don't remember this, but Drago made me wat.

I think it's time for a rewatch. Jade was cuter than she should have been.

Did he came from the future along Adult Jade that looked like an adult woman with Jade´s child head paste to it?

Are you me?

Except for the DH getting stale, the show just needed to make them more experienced.

Season 4 was okay, but the main problem the show had was that every season was more or less the same.

>Bad guys try to get the (items/chi/whatever).
>Jackie and Co. get it first and beat them.
>Maybe lose on one or two instances.
>Bad guy wins in the season finale.
>Jackie ends up winning anyway.

Like clockwork. Didn't help that Seasons 3 and 5 were just rehashes of Seasons 1 and 2 to an extent. At least Tarakudo and the Shadow Khan had interesting concepts, and the former was a pretty classy villain.

Also, they changed Valmont's voice and made him a joke after Season 2 and that was the worst.

This season was so shit that I just skipped to the end eventually.

Well, in Season 4, they introduce Strikemaster Ice and his gang of wangstas. Drago makes them his henchmen in Season 5.

Oh, another thing I hated.

>Captain Black talks about how the Dark Hand is an international syndicate with its fingers in many pies
>it turns out to be, like, four guys
>three of whom are just bumbling henchmen
>and then Valmont becomes more of a jobber than the others

why

That was one of the best things the show did, yeah.

Season 4 ended with Tarakudo awakening all of the Shadow Khan because all of the masks had been used at least once or something. So the J-Team has to stop them and they defeat Tarakudo by sealing him away with his own mask or something.

This involved first giving Tarakudo a body, though, and he became /fit/.

Speaking of muscles, remember that time that Jade suddenly became a bara when she used the Ox Talisman in Season 4 or 5? What the fuck was up with that?

If I remember, didn't they have more members in the beginning? At least if they alternated between the main three.

I kinda feel like they did
But as time went on I guess valmont wasted more and more of his resources, only to keep losing- and I'm sure his other employees/partners didn't like to hear that he kept blowing a bunch of money on magic stuff

>like, who the hell was his mother if he was only half half-demon

Considering how fanfictiony season 5 was... who do you think?

DESU I always though Valmont wasn't head of the dark hand and just running the local operations and got side tracked with the whole "shen-du" stuff. Would have been great if he'd been called to task by someone higher up in the food chain saying more or less "stop messing about with these damn artifacts pissing away money and do something useful".

I don't remember anyone other than Tohru and Hak Foo.

>DESU

wat.... that is not what I wrote.

I see you are a newfag

new here?
There's a word filter on the abbreviation of "to be honest" that changes it to desu

He showed up in one timeskip episode. I don't know why anyone thought he was good enough for a whole season.

baka desu senpai

Nah, it's more that I forgot than anything else, I usually use tbqh.

Oh shit I wasn't the only one who watched it.

of course roodypoo candy ass

Jade has him beat by that.

>S4
>Bad guys keep trying to give their strongest member, Hak Foo, a mask
>Everybody else gets one and gets to summon powerful new shadowkhan
>Hak Foo finally gets a mask
>His shadowkhan are pathetic looking mouse-sized ones
>Turn out to be an actual threat as swarming, shadow-eating monsters

Kino

primewire.life/watch-10306-Jackie-Chan-Adventures

Pure kino.

Between this show and Blazing Saddles, railroad workers really do make the best sheriffs.

The episode where Jade turned into a frog creature because of Demon chi was one of my favorites.

Now that I think on it Jade was subject to alot of TF.

Probably cause the questions were read by Jade's voice.

I read that in Jade's voice lmao. Damn

I thought tarakudo was a pretty funny villain and the other shadowkhan were cool
season 5 was irredeemable trash with shenlon's son

Kek

Not enough episodes where Jade turned into stuff.

>is american dragon worth watching again
no

>when you saw Tohru join the good guys the first time through

He was pretty great. I really liked his development in s4 and his relationships with Jade and Uncle.

The later seasons were Shendont's while the first two were Shendu's.

Honestly, only S5 was bad. S2 had lots of filler, but it was still interesting.

For as dumped on as S5 gets, I did like how the Demon Chi morphed people into the Demon forms. But that might be just me because I was into Fusions.

kek

Wasn't that, like, most of them?

>cat
>demon queen
>monkey
>giant
>clone army
>bara daddy

There's probably more that I'm not remembering.

Jade is cute and NOT for sexual!

I should really rewatch this series. Pretty sure it still holds up today

>Is there any porn of adult Jade
Fixed. Also...

>tfw there is none.

body possession

Pretending to be a leprechaun, if that counts.

S5 and S3 were the weakest seasons.

Aye. You got to admit, shendu getting ressurected in S3 was pretty ballsy

Always bugged me when I found out that old-timey Irish Leprechauns didn't dress in green. I know it's a stupid complaint to have in a show about demons and such, but still, must've been terribly disrespectful to the Irish. Couldn't they have at least let them be fooled by dressing like an old-tymey red-dressed Leprechaun?

I was a bit confused on that. Did Wong summon him from demon dimension?

Because Sup Forums are pedophiles.

Dragon talisman couldn't manifest because dragons went extinct, so Wong called up shendu and learned how to ressurect a dragon.

MY GOD!!
I want to kiss these lips and let our tongues have a wrestling match.
Afterwards, I'll cook her a nice dinner

Strange masked men are no match for me.

The jade team fillers were the worst, to be honest.

This is the OTP

I actually thought she was more of a big sister to Jade.

/ll/ a very rare thing indeed

She was clearly trying to get into Jackie's life by being a mentor figure for his niece.

It was the same goddamn formula each season. By season 3 the repetition was clear only the enemy and what needed to be collected changed.

Also Valmont was turned from a capable fighter literally on Jackie’s level to an absolute cowardly joke which I can’t forgive at all.

I like how Jade managed to get both her and Tohru to give up their evil ways.
