look at dis dude

considering that it was the people's want for a thneed that killed all the trees, yeah. dude's just providing a needed service & the kid planting a trees takes down the biggest business/employer in the city

of course, when they treat him as basically a Captain Planet villain, the dude can't help but be the one-sided villain. he's arguably the best parts of the Onceler from the original cartoon cause the new one's just some hipster douchebag who only employed his family & did it only for them

>it's the capitalists are the bad guys episode/movie

He's right, you know

I will never forgive this for making him get horny over the milf

Besides being in the worst animated film of all time?

Well ye did try to assassinate a kid for planting a seed.

>Expecting anything besides that from a fucking LORAX story

You haven't seen many, have you?

The movie wasn't anti-capitalist, it was anti-putting profit over nature.

>Being a jew

wasn’t the dude being a prick and trying to stop them from trying to help the Earth

why did they cut this?

>niggering

There was A LOT of cut stuff. Like, the town knowing it's history and about the Once-ler, but he's outdated now, so nobody cares what he has to say. Also, adding into the metaphor about how developing the world blindly isn't the smartest choice, but that development ITSELF wasn't bad.

It was a lot like the original special, arguing both points have merit, but in hindsight, the situation could have been handled better. Which is what is infuriating about the new movie, where they literally say they only need the leaves of the trees, and instead of building a machine that just plucks the leaves, they still build things that cut down trees. It could have been so much better, like, have his family corrupt him more, by convincing him now that they have all this money from the Thneeds, the trend is dying, and the family needs money again, so they're going to start cutting the trees down for other things, like supplies and building material. Then, that causes them to have to build larger factories that pollute more. At first, the Once-Ler is just naively caught up in wanting his family's affection, but eventually he starts to lucidly make these choices, even dis-owning his own family when they get genuinely worried about him, and it's eventually too late.

But no, this is modern cartoons! The hero has to be in the right, and if there's any grey or black in their morality, it's because they were just confused, and then try to make everything okay again!

> started as a garbageman
> turned into one of the richest/most powerfull man in the world

He deserves some credit.

Could his haircut be anymore stupid?

I do have to say one thing I really liked about the original cartoon was how they made the Once-ler clearly sound educated, he's not just some captain planet villain doing this for the hell of it. He just doesn't care.

BLOMF

kinda looks like Shemp from 3 Stooges, so yes. It could be Larry's haircut

He looks like a prick

Bitch that is capitalism

He's a capitalist, and he deserves the respect accorded that title.

Nigga a capitalist could create a business model with long term sustainability. You can be a capitalist and not chop down all the trees on the planet.
