We will never have slice of life with a black male mc

>we will never have slice of life with a black male mc

why?

Is that Tom DuBois???

Are you that Static guy?

I wanna make one as well but i have a whole super power/noir angle going for it as well

>she waits in her room half naked so that he was come in on accident like an anime protagonist
I hate women

Hard to have a slice of life when to appear as a genuine black male's life experience you don't have a dad and are surrounded by a culture that is caustic to your development that promotes criminal activities and thuggish notions.

Pic related was the closest there was to it in media.

>tall, shy, nerdy black guy
why is this atrope now?

You know that all black people aren’t Americans who live in the ghetto, right?

>it's the "white user tells black user he's life is a episode of Atlanta when it's actually more like Friends

It started out as a design by committee trend in the late 90s/early 00s to have the nerdy guy be black. There were accusations that black cartoon characters always being either sporty or kid friendly "gangsta" was racist. So a lot of studios swung hard the other way and made the token black guy the nerd.
It's like how homosexuals are now the advice givers instead of old black people.

Minus the coffee shop.

no wonder black people dont have an identity

I've worked a lot of low end labor jobs in my life in Maryland and I'd say there's two big reasons:

1) None of them care about that shit so you aren't going to get an artist/writer with actual experience.

2) Their life stories are inherently unsympathetic to most people, let alone a target audience like "nerdy white men."

Blerds are great, those rare black guys who found a real work ethic are great, but god damn if the majority of them aren't the living breathing worst stereotypes you can think of. I can't imagine wanting to read about a guy so lazy he can't handle working 5 days in a week so he calls out once a week, more often if it's a nice weekend, raw dogs his way to a kid at 20 and asks his friends to interview girls he's interested in to make sure they don't know his baby's momma.

It could happen but the odds are pretty bad.

Statistically I'm talking about what would be a "black slice of life." Among African Americans 75% don't have fathers and >50% are low socio-economic. And almost all of them are burdened by "black culture" that chastises them for "acting white" from their peers and discourages advancement in a myriad of ways.

I'm not saying that the "friends" sorta life isn't there for some black Americans, I'm just saying it isn't usually the norm due to socio-cultural and economic circumstances. i.e. less relate-able to individuals of that particular walk of life if you attempting to convey what a "slice" of their life would be.

I don't believe many black people willing to post here and state that being super broke and irresponsible is the state of MD black men have good opinions of or hang out with many black people.

They discovered anime.

Blerds aren't particularly rare, either.
There are shitton of black artists.
If their life stories are unsympathetic, then the empathy problem is with your preferred demographic.

I know a blerd who is a deadbeat father of twins. I know plenty of blerd family men. I know gangsters into anime, and heavy gaming plain guys who are just happening to be black. Many black men still have father or father figures.

>Be Black
>Hate myself because I'm black
>No pro black media to help me out of my self hate
>Everything is support of criminality and wrong doing and treating other people of your race bad.
sad life.

And? Why the fuck does media have to represent the status quo?

Why are crackers literally the only race that cannot into anime?

I think that, for me, whenever that artist is doing something, I always end up liking whatever "side" part of that whole something is.
I loved BN when it was about those characters, instead of the main characters.
That porn comic got boring, too.

To appeal to broad audiences for money.

good

Because any black nerd that gets into webcomics would be making action shonen.

Is that miles morales?

They mostly live in ghettos all around the world though.

that guy needs to eat more.
Anorexia is serious.

Unless you make it interesting SoL, don't bother period.
Pic related looks lame and I only saw one panel

Wft am i reading, why are people using statistic without any source to validate the lack of black mc. Like actual statistic have any factor to slice of life we see today.
why is it that Sup Forums of all boards lack imagination.

hat? what the fuck since when have political or statical facts made a factor into fucking slice of life comics, are you telling me this is what all those shitty harem mangas is based on, the japanese statistic

whoops forgot to delete the last part

It's the usual state of black kids who had mothers dumb enough to keep getting knocked up by different men in the hopes that one of them would be responsible enough to stick around for more than just a roof over his head and pussy on demand. I am a blerd...but since my passions are bodybuilding, martial arts, (and video games, of course: fighting games with Monster Hunter on the side), you really couldn't tell, aside from my proper english, pants worn properly, a dislike of rap and basketball, and no dreadlocks.

this was the best SoL anime with a black MC.

jokes aside it really was the best SoL.

>the "all black people are impoverished and keep having babies" meme
none of the black people I know have more than two kids, three the most, but is that too much for you?

Attached: igfu.jpg (101x111, 8K)

meant for

I probably know who you are if you do live in Maryland. I can also tell that you really don't know many black people and pretty much g off of what you see on TV.

A damn shame. You remind me of Tommy Sotomayor

God I miss this

This was the Black Malcom in the middle wasn’t it

Nah, it's Everybody hates Chris.
You could say the Middle is the white version of it

2d women are only for white guys, stay away.

Literally this.

Slice of 20 to life

>I’m a trope now

FUCK

I live in Florida, lived in the projects until 15, then moved to a mixed area with a bad black-only area to the north. Trust me, I know what less-fortunate members of my race are like. They get into some STUPID shit. If you don't know this, you're either trying to make them look better for the white people here, or you really haven't been around ghetto-ass niggas that often. And fuck Tommy. All I've seen of him is crying about how black women attack him in public and some other whiny crap.

I don't make action shonen. I have no interest in making any either.

What about that Craig of the Creek show?

>Phineas' VA on the right

>Now

What exactly do you think the slice-of-life genre IS?

>the tall/big guy is actually a spaz
that trope is literally older than black nerd

that's isekai

>youtsuba is the average child

because they always have a white wimmin tagging along and then expect me to care about a coalburner

>pretending you don't care
it's not good for your health boy

How long has it been a thing
I just wanna be myself, I didn’t mean to become a goddamned caricature

About long I know that feel fellow nigga.

>literally encouraging the degeneration of art for the purposes of mass consumption

user you are the cancer.

Chin up man, I believe in you.
At least you're not a lonely friendless chink, like me.

Everybody Hates Chris.

sjw's don't care about minorities as much unless they're women.
virtually all efforts to be "progressive" involve pandering to tumblr-tier feminists in some form or another.

>user indirectly say sjw is the creative force

Man this fucking sucks
At least I’m not much like the black nerds people know

Welcome to being a white nerd in the 80s/90s.

dont worry, irl black people are disgustiing

>to suffer is to be me and I need others to feel like me

don't kys

The early seasons of Family Matters, before Urkel becomes the main character and Laura goes full sjw, are the closest we’ll ever get to a real slice of life black family. Son who’s into black culture but not a stereotype, multiple women abandoned by men (Harriet and Rachel by their father, Rachel by her baby daddy) and a large family under one roof to save money, and still struggling to make ends meet. And somehow it still managed to be funny and relatable without being preachy or exploitative because writers back then had to get by on quality and nuance since they didn’t have internet brigades constantly trying to tear them down for perceived micro aggressions, or put them on an undeserved pedestal based solely on how diverse and progressive they appear.
