NONE of those wars involved ethnic cleansing, none of them involved genocide and none of them involved officially sanctioned attacks on innocent non combatants as a matter of regular policy. Funny you say Marvel, because this is honestly the kind of storyline I'd expect for a post Civil War pre-Siege Avengers book. All of her powers and associated weaknesses were granted to her by the gods, so I don't see what about it doesn't make any sense. She's basically a D&D character who's got high blunt damage resistance, but low resistance to piercing.
