Those other guys are seen as more popular and important, though. Vision used to be an important character in the 1970s and 1980s, he never recovered from what Byrne did to him, it changed how people perceived him. He's a character you can kill and it might last for a long time.
Infinity War could make Vision and Wanda both very popular with normies, but won't make Marvel's writers and editors suddenly start liking them.

In the same time period, they had several Hulks, Wolverines, etc. If anyone cared that much about Vision, they would have brought him back earlier regardless of YA Vision, even if they changed his costume or name like with Hawkeye becoming Ronin because of YA Hawkeye.
Bendis started "putting the toys back in the box" towards the end of his Avengers run, and that's why he finally brought Vision back.
