Yeah, we could always cry that "it coulda so much more" or "waaaaaah, why can't I be a writer" but at the end of the day, this is what we've got. If anything, I'm really glad that the show is self aware about some of the discrepancies with the scissors, as both Tad and Angie have mentioned.... I'm curious if this is just subtle rebellion by portions of the staff, acknowledgement of fan complaints, or if this is laying a foundation for some other major shift between Marco and Star once again.

That's hard to say. He's impulsive, not particularly bright, prone to solving problems through violence, but he also seems to have noble intentions and is the most open to changing his outlook.
