I get Wilson had it in her head to show case the supporting cast; a city of weirdos protecting their weird city from weird bad guys, cute idea. But you've made Kamala look like a punk twice in one run now. Just unsatisfying.

Real surprising that the few issues Kamala's not around are the best of the entire run and as soon as she comes back it goes to shit again.
That's the stupid part. She has shapeshifting powers. Literally all you had to do was say she's been using them to hide out around town in various guises to see how things go without her and then come back on her own when she sees that she really is needed.
It's a lot like the sentient virus story arc where "oh it can possess people" and you could've gotten some good stuff out of that with it causing havoc for Kamala by hopping around between her friends and revealing their secrets and everything but no, it's brought up, nothing's done with it and Kamala punches it. Or Becky coming back and you think that wow it seems that Kamala might now have a good recurring villain but no she basically never spoke and just acted as fight scene filler.
Wilson seems to have a real problem with going "here's an interesting set up" and then swerving into the most banal story she can think of with it.

If I recall, this was from the end of her first appearance. The second one, she cared nothing for Kamala and only treated her as an annoyance.
And the only reason she came back was because HYDRA liked how much she enjoyed beating people up and felt she'd make a good enforcer.
