So the last Rainbow Brite thread got deleted because of sloppy moderation but I actually wanted to know more about it, so what ever happened with this show? Was it good? Was the original series good?

I can only tell you about the original series. No, it wasn't good.

The only real cool thing about the original rainbow brite was the movie

The new version was okay

Why was it not good?

That one porn comic by stickymon is God-tier

Nice, I hadn't seen that. Hunger of the Shadow Beasts for anyone else looking.

It had some potential, I like that they gave Rainbow Brite a less chipper friend to bounce off of, but after the three episodes nothing happened.

Kind of a shame honestly, Rainbow Brite always felt like a franchise that COULD be good, but wasn't.

I don't get why people didn't like the new Rainbow Brite, but like Hanazuki? They pretty much have the same vibe and I like both.

I mean Rainbow Brite is basically Star Butterfly, just not with an old lady voice

Sure they're similar characters, but Star vs has a much different tone. That's why I compared it to Hanazuki instead.

I think a lot of it was timing. New Rainbow Bright came out of nowhere, only had three episodes, and immediately vanished again.

I very vaguely remember this being the case. I remember thinking the other kid's horse, Onyx, was cool as hell and generally enjoying the movie.

Yeah I remember the horse also

Yes, but the original was a little better. It was a decent attempt to revive a franchise a la mlp.
But there was the same problem with the original series. It's not owned by a strong backed toy/production company as Hasbro. It will always fall short to reach maturity, and that's a shame considering its potential.

>be in grocery store the other day
>see a packet of Cow Candy flavored cheese sticks with horsey character on it
>I get nervous and try to get away from there as fast as I can--I don't want to be seen anywhere near that thing

The hell you talking about

Hey, did you guys know that Rainbow Brite is autistic?

She's on the spectrum.

The show was cheaply made and a bore, and was only streamed on a site no one knew about. Its fate was sealed.

I actually like Emily Osment's voice, but it was the wrong kind of role for her.

The movie is only good for nostalgia purposes. It's 80's cheese.

First six episodes of the original series are good, and then the movie. After that, it went to shit. Beginning of Rainbowland is great just for the monster designs and gloomy setting.

God damnit carlos

it sucks
