They were building pipes on where Columbus was buried.

bump

bunch of indians are mad they didnt get an offer big enough from the oil company to keep their mouths shut

pump

Long story short bunch of butthurt environmentalists are pissed off that a oil pipeline is being built thorough sacred Indian land. Indians themselves don't really give a shit either way. Sad thing is the pipeline will probably be more environmentally safe then people think and all the butthurt hippies are doing more damage to the land then anyone else.

selfrighteous white people are fighting against authority for minority rights, even though nobody asked them to

fucking hippies

minority being the native american people

>company makes millions
>cant bribe a bunch of people who lives in tents

like the company deserve this. cheap ass faggots.

what else is new fa m

>pipelines
>safe

safer than solar,wind,sea?

Point is that Indians have no say in it because the pipeline doesn't cross their lands. They are just in the area and are making noise to try and shake free some money.

They should be glad we don't Jackson them.

nothing, just a the same old story all over again :^)

>safer than solar,wind,sea?
Safer than transport by sea by unit of material moved but less in terms of distance moved.

Solar and wind can not be economically converted into liquid fuels. So why even bother to ask?

anyone got a map?

...

Greedy indians get wrekt.

The oil company offered them like 50 million to put the pipeline through the land,
they declined and asked for more.
So the oil company moved the pipeline OFF the indian land, it runs beside their "sacred soil" and now they are pissed.

and?
what is so wrong with the indians trying to get as much money out of this as possible no doubt the company's offer is ridiculously small

Noone on Sup Forums actually knows what's happening here and it's fucking pathetic.

listen up cocksuckers.

The natives were going to get a deal for $50 Million dollars if they gave up some land for the pipe line to go through, The natives say "no, that isn't enough money to us."
The pipeline was then decided to run to the side of the native land so that it would be completely legal to run it.

The natives are too fucking butthurt about not getting any money or their way at this point, so they are Tatonkaing out(chimping out for natives).

tldr
The pipeline is not on their land, they lost the chance to take a check when they had it. Now they aren't needed and are mad.

>butthurt hippies camping out for a few months in a rez are more destructive than pipeline construction and the potential for an oil spill

full retard

This is the most reasonable explanation I've heard. They already get free money from the government. How else could they not work for two months to carry on this retarded protest?

Don't forget there are already EIGHT other pipelines that run underneath the river too.

Fucking hippies.

>what is so wrong with the indians trying to get as much money out of this as possible no doubt the company's offer is ridiculously small

Because they don't own the land so they should be offered nothing at all.

They offered them 50 million to build on their land and the natives said not enough. So the pipeline company said it's less than 50 million to use another route so you get nothing.

There it is. It's ((($))). As always.

Anyone have a source for this? My googlefu ends up with nothing.

[citation needed]

>built thorough sacred Indian land.
It's on private property and they made sure it went through no sacred land. The indians wouldn't give up so they claimed new sacred land. The actual land the pipeline is going on isn't with view of anything but they protest at places that will get the most attention.

You sound like you are pro-fag

>peaceful protesters
So peaceful when they stampede police with horses.

Because they're greedy tree nigger savages who just get drunk all day and do fuck all. Fuck them, they should be happy to be given anything.

We should have gotten rid of these fucking pagans years ago. Can we drone strike Standing Rock so we finish them all off while they're gathered together?

I live in Bismarck and can confirm. Natives got greedy (again).

The pipeline doesn't pass under their land. That is a lie.

Your narrative that a company can build on land it doesn't own or have the rights to is comical.

Troll harder m80.

Hey Michael how you doing?

>We should have gotten rid of them injuns long ago!
Yeah you have tried that for centuries and couldnt do it. Americans cant seem to finish anything on their own :^)

Thank (You), but I am not your faggot friend.

Railways stand to loose billions a year if it is completed. False flag jewery.

I never see DAPL threads here on Sup Forums .

RARE

You can't confirm shit.

Sioux Nation has 1 BILLION sitting for them in government accounts from a settlement for the last time they got fucked by the government. If Sioux Nation wanted money, they would take that billion, but they haven't taken it.

Why would they be crying about 50 million when they can collect their 1 billion any time they want?

That's right. It's a contradiction. One of those things is wrong, and it's not the billion waiting for them in the bank.

>Indians want more money than offered
>told to fuck off, they'll build around "their" land
>bunch of useful idiots are now protesting "peacefully" by destroying private property and assaulting officers
Fuck em.

Shitskins are greedy with zero forethought.

The government holding on to 1 billion for Sioux Nation. If Sioux Nation wanted money, they would take that billion, but they haven't touched that money, because they don't want money. They want the Fort Laramie treaty to be upheld. The pipeline crosses Fort Laramie treaty land.

Why are you surrendering part of your nation to barbarians, again?

How many tribes do you have throughout the Amazon again?

Bunch of self-loathing white people with white man's burden syndrome

That contradicts the facts. If they were greedy, they would take that 1 billion that is waiting for them in the bank, but they haven't.

>solar, wind, sea
memes don't provide electricity

Pipeline was originally going to be built elsewhere but they figured out it would screw up the water supply of a bunch of suburbs and those people got mad about it. So then they said fuck it just build it through the Indian's territory, they don't drink water.

The heavily militarized police presence is likely due to Energy Transfer Partners backing.

Yeah man, they declared new sacred land in 2016 when they signed the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851.

Just the government and oil corp fucking over some natives but no one in the media gives a shit because they are natives.

It is funny as it could have been used by Trump, talk raido or whatever to show how bad government can be and also how in bed with corporations it is and not with the people, but I guess even they thought no one would give a shit anyway as they are natives.

Wrong. They are building their pipeline under sources of drinking water, which the pipeline will eventually contaminate.

If you don't believe that, consider that they originally wanted to run the pipeline through Bismarck so that they could avoid this mess, but they were told to fuck off because the pipeline would fuck Bismarck's drinking water.

God fucking damn /POL you are better than this. I know you don't give a fuck about Natives but don't be like those pussy liberals...that don't know what is going on North Dakota and just jump on the PC train.
OK so here is what basically happens: there is a large body of water that feeds the biggest Native American reservation ....the pipe will go in there and if it leaks it will contaminate the main source of water supply that the reservations use. That is why all the tribes have joined power to stop the drill...this didn't happen since the colonial times.

lmao newfag

A bunch of (((white environmentalists))) are telling you that you need to protect the Indians drinking water, when the water won't be contaminated in the first place, and that the Indians were tricked and abused by the mean ole' guvment, because the Indian tribes' leaders sold the rights to the land to private companies in the first place.

There is no source, because that's bullshit. Sioux Nation has 1 billion waiting for them in the bank, courtesy of a previous settlement. If they wanted money, they could just take that.

They haven't touched it though, because they don't want money.

holy shit shut the fuck up about the 1 billion. "If they wanted money" everyone wants money retard, especially the native americans since fucking half of them are in poverty. It's not as simply as going to the bank and making a withdrawl, instead of saying the same crap over and over again to serve your pc bullshit provide sources and explanations.

>There is no source but believe me!!

holy shit

also I would like a source on the declining of 50 million and where the pipeline actually goes through.

ctvnews.ca/business/officers-douse-dakota-access-oil-pipeline-protesters-in-subfreezing-weather-1.3170090

>The 1,200-mile, four-state pipeline is being built to carry oil from western North Dakota to a shipping point in Illinois. But construction of the $3.8 billion pipeline has been protested for months by the Standing Rock Sioux, whose reservation lies near the pipeline route, and the tribe's allies, who fear a leak could contaminate drinking water. They also worry that construction could threaten sacred sites.
Pipeline developer Energy Transfer Partners has said no sites have been disturbed and that the pipeline will have safeguards against leaks, and is a safer method of transport for oil than rail or truck. The company has said the pipeline is largely complete except for the section under Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir in southern North Dakota.

So it seems like it doesn't actually go through native land

>giving a flying fuck about (((reservations)))

modern day concentration camps. Redguards need to grow the fuck up and assimilate.

Kek ok this one will contaminate the water, but not the dozens of other pipes that have already been built.

Just taking a look at a map of the reservation and a map of the pipeline's route from ETP's website, it definitely does not go through native land.

Can someone explain (((reservations)))? Do they actually live like they did in the fucking 1800's? What's the point of a reservation, is it just an area where only natives can own land? If so it only serves to seperate them from the rest of the population.

Theyve done over 100000 in property damage and killed all the farmers cattle on the land theyre squatting on.

>the water won't be contaminated
It will be. That's why they moved the pipeline away from Bismarck, the capital of North Dakota where the government officials are. Why do you think that government officials didn't want that pipeline crossing their water?

> Indian tribes' leaders sold the rights to the land
They signed the Fort Laramie Treaty in 1851, which makes the land the pipeline runs through theirs. They have not sold that land to Energy Transfer Parters directly or indirectly.

im worth trillions of dollars in oil but the government wants to take that from me

but the indians still have no right to be blowing up equipment and attacking police. ITS NOT ON THEIR LAND. i.e. they have no right to act like they're protecting their land legally. if and when it leaks they just sue the oil company, the company has to pay for the cleanup, indians get water and damages monies and everyone wins. its not like indians do much farming anyway.

1
gorillion

>Do they actually live like they did in the fucking 1800's?

kek fuck no!

If their ancestors could see how they live they'd slaughter the lot of em! They're (((reservations))) because the only profit they get is from the local casino.

High crime, high poverty

or maybe because it would be a huge pain in the ass and take forever to build a pipeline under a city...
even a retard could have thought of that.

Born and lived in a reservation for 5 years in Manitoba, move to the city. It's pretty bad desu. People there tend to act a bit like niggers. They own and govern themselves sort of.

The reservations are tax free but my father is white and is considered a native since he has lived there his whole life. It's not all only natives.

fuck you dude stop with your dis info
transporting oil by pipeline is the safest mode of transport

a fucking simple google search looking through safety reviews tells you this you fucking inbred

race should be abolished in the eyes of law i'm baka. Seems like all reserves do is keep the abbos down by enabling them.

I don't think the U.S Government recognizes Native's rights to the Laramie Treaty. It was seized a few decades after the treaty was signed and the Supreme Court decided that while it was wrong, the government had only to pay compensation in $$$.

The natives might think its their land, but the government doesn't recognize it as such.

Bunch of Indians aren't mad they might not keep getting free shit anymore

Oil Companies wanted to build on Indian lands
Indians said no.
Oil Companies decided to build around Indian lands
Indians and sympathizers stirred up the national media with sob stories.

>this has not happened since colonial times

That is so false it hurts.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1969_White_Paper

Pierre Trudeau tried to abolish the Indian act that he viewed as a discriminatory. He would've made Natives as equal as the average Canadian citizen. Native leaders opposed this policy and it did not pass.

desu I have a lot of privileges.

They weren't going to build it under the city, retard. Look at the fucking map. Bismarck was south of the pipeline. The Missouri River flows south, meaning all the contaminated water would flow from the pipeline straight to Bismarck, and they weren't going to have that shit.

nice get, any special treatment to help an "underprivileged" minority only serves to seperate them. As long as everyone has equal rights under the law the appropriate social change will follow but if the minority groups are constantly treated as different and in need of help it keeps them down. At least thats what I think.

It's leftist financed false grass-roots bullshit like what Foval did in Belize by hiring fake protesters to halt the development of infrastructure, namely highways.

About tit for tat between it and by sea but it's a more direct/shorter distance.

Mind you the pipelines make for swell targets by hippy's and terrorists

My reserve pays me weekly to be in University and it allows me to get a better chance of getting into programs because "minority".

I do believe that reserves should be abolished and everyone treated as a Canadian citizen. I'll enjoy what I have until then.

Government is breaking a near two-century-old treaty on accident, cause the injuns were dumb and allowed homesteaders to buy and sell their land

Reservations are designated safe spaces where Injuns can get blotto on listerine and rape their squaws and beat their kids without Johnny Law getting involved.

Pic related

>shut up about the facts. I can't take facts.

Guess what. If you idiots knew what the facts were, I wouldn't have to repeat them, so maybe you should shut the fuck up until you actually know what's going on.

All you had to do was google "Sioux Nation 1 billion". theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/03/saying-no-to-1-billion/308380/

I must say from this one 5 year old article this one man seems noble but today and now the pipeline doesn't go over native territory.

A pipeline leak on land isn't even that big of a deal. It's a mess, but it's not like the shutoff valve is a mile underwater.

the U.S government gave native americans some land a while back. another state refused the pipe line from canada back when it was the key stone pipe line

canada is demanding we finish the stupid pipe line because we demanded they stop selling china oil which prompted china to drill for oil which they found and russia sells them a shit load of oil as well

so now the pipe line is suppose to cut through a native american reservation despite the fact they have control over the laws on the land meaning they can refuse any level of construction regardless of who owns it.

meaning they sell some land to whitey and whitey decides they want the pipe line in a legal sense the tribal council can refuse. its like city council saying no you cant have a giant statue in town square even though its your land

>white man come to america
>gets fuck ton of land for mirrors and beans
>natives smart enougth to be cheath once but not twice
>reject first offer of cheap currency who soon will be worlthes by the economic war.
>dur dur the indians dont deserve printed paper.

drinking your onw cool aid makes you stupid , oil and land have real value unlike printed cheap ass paper

Company is being cheap , no sympaty for for corporations.

safer by transport by train

Why did they have to cross the river the first time and not go around trough Bismarck?

What the fuck are you talking about? Keystone pipeline is a completely different pipeline to the Dakota access pipeline. They are not related. The Dakota Access pipeline does not come from Canada, it comes from within North Dakota itself, specifically the Bakken oil fields.

>being this gullible

so why the oposition to a clean cheap energy?
, it will take the money of the 5 faggots who onws the companys. and create like 5 or 6 new energy industrys

you are the meme.

OPEC funding a bunch of people to protest the expanding american oil industry whose genocide has made them indifferent to American well-being

Its about money. Indians were offered a lot and turned it down thinking they would be more. They instead moved the pipeline out of "sacred land". Indians suddenly think it's still too close despite their own hired experts telling them it was safe and a pipeline already exists there. Enter liberal white saviors who hear "Indians" and want to be the next Dances With Wolves. Now its cause celeb for people without jobs and those that like to show they are better people than you on Facebook. Meanwhile the real Native Americans in the nearest town are tired of dealing with all the stupid protestors.

Question session is now open
