To all the old fags here tell me what was bush era Sup Forums like...

to all the old fags here tell me what was bush era Sup Forums like? I came here around 2011 or 2012 nearing the middle of obama.

Didn't exist. Sup Forums hated bush.

Sup Forums didn't exist until you showed up.

middle school was lit senpai
christ is lord

FUCK OFF NEW FAG SCUM

>I came here around 2011 or 2012 nearing the middle of obama.

no you didn't

if you were here then you would know Sup Forums wasn't around back then

...

Sup Forums was made about 3/4s of the way into 2011. We started off about 50/50 liberals and conservatives, but the 2012 elections loomed and we grew much more conservative quickly. When Obama won in 2012, moot put dancing Obama's on the catalog page.

Before that, Sup Forums in general shilled Obama pretty hard in the 2008 election. The uswrbase was much younger back then and we were more into memeing than accomplishing things. Chanology changed a lot of how people felt about our collective retardation. Back then I never went to /new/, but I hear it was much like the current Sup Forums. So it seems Sup Forums is a magnet for the rightwing views of millenials and gen z and has been for a while.

we all called bush a nigger. then obama. now Trump.

Sup Forums was created in 2011

pol was created in response to jew redpilling spilling into every board

the concept of 'politics' appeared in the name of the board, but there was no actual politics here

just redpills against jews and JIDF shills all day, the irony is that the JIDF was much more talented at blending in than CTR ever was, signs that Sup Forums was not taken seriously for a while

Sup Forums during 9/11 was the craziest it's ever been

>Sup Forums hated bush
memes were dope though

That's fuckin cool

Pol never existed

this

No one liked Bush back then but politics rarely came up since we were too busy raiding lamers, fapping to hentai, and spamming animaymays.

Oh, and there was no others boards back then--only Sup Forums. I mean there were "other boards" but Sup Forums was the one everyone used most often.

The only board even vaguely similar in atmosphere to Sup Forums (and I mean VAGUELY) that was around during 9/11 was Something Awful, and yes, it was fucking mental.

I came here in 2009, but my guess would be..
>lots of jokes about niggers and sandniggers
>9/11 theories
>desire for weed legalization

THIS IS NOW 9/11 CONSPIRACY THREAD

I don't get it;

Sup Forums was just contrarian back then. If there was a dem in power we'd have been more rightwing I think. Although Obama did feel like something new to a lot of people, so it's hard to critisize why a bunch of edgy internet denizens wouldnt be somewhat interested in him. Ron Paul was moderately popular too, but this gets us into the problems and issues with the Chanology movement. People coopting our collective anonymity to masquerade as the "voice of Sup Forums" pissed a lot of people off. It's not a settled issue either, seeing as "Anonymous" is still pushing their leftist worldview on the world. The media seems to have divorced the group "Anonymous" from Sup Forums entirely, which is strange to me.

Bush era was screaming about jews, false flags, making tasteless 9/11 jokes and gorrillions of osama bin laden OC. There wasnt even that much hate for Bush, it was dick cheney and rumsfeld that people hated. Blowing up muslims was always fine.

Sup Forums has only existed since early 2011.

>chanology
Maaaah nigga

Sup Forums wanted obama to win so they could meme Pools Closed into Poles Closed. That and everyone was pretty tired of the bush admin.

/new/ was like Sup Forums lite and arguably /k/ was where most of the political arguments were taking place, and still do.

Most people just want to be contrarian for the lolz and the vast majority of readers here are fairly middle ground.

>newfags think Sup Forums was the first Sup Forums

/new/ wasn't 'much like Sup Forums', it was Sup Forums, it directly became it. /new/ was basically /nsg/ meets /x/ (much like Sup Forums has been this election with wikileaks chiming in so hard). A containment board for the 'far right' neo-nazis.

The rest of Sup Forums right now is liberal as fuck, try going to Sup Forums or Sup Forums or Sup Forums or pretty much any other large board (except a couple like /k/) and it could very literally be a subreddit of young liberal retards. Sup Forums has always been that way on the whole and likely always will be.

>When Obama won in 2012, moot put dancing Obama's on the catalog page.

I remember that, desu I think it was Redwood who did that.
That election cycle sucked past the Republican primaries. When Ron lost and Mitt went on to be the nominee all the energy left since no one liked Mitt or Obama.

Sup Forums was never leftwing

/n/ had it's fuck bush phase, but was never left wing

/new/ was like Sup Forums except even more extreme

Sup Forums isn't leftwing it's just aimless and random, most Sup Forumsacks came from Sup Forums wandering across Sup Forums looking for something to fill this empty void, they found /r9k/ first but that slowly turned into a beta fest, then they found Sup Forums and made it like Sup Forums minus the cancer

Sup Forums is still contrarian as fuck

Has anybody seen what's become of Sup Forums LMFAO

The divide back then started when people started co-opting anonymous as a force for good in the world instead of a tongue-in-cheek joke that masqueraded as a "epic hacker on steroids" in order to shock lamers. In reality, we were really just a bunch of board faggots that sat around fapping to increasingly taboo shit and fucked with people for the lulz. The moralfags stole the Anonymous meme from us during Chanology and ran with it ever since.

...

>BORED faggots

I'm too drunk off of the fermented Jew.

I went to England as a kid about 12 years ago and they had shirts with hateful slogans directed towards bush all the time. Kind of strange since I never saw that in America in the open.

>most Sup Forumsacks came from Sup Forums wandering across Sup Forums looking for something to fill this empty void, they found /r9k/ first but that slowly turned into a beta fest, then they found Sup Forums

Fairly accurate probably, though I must say I stayed on original /r9k/ for quite a while and was only pushed off when it got deleted. Not sure if I found Sup Forums immediately or not when that happened I don't have this photographic board memory a lot of people seem to display but it won't have been long after. Spent a while on 420chan during in le weed smoking University days that was probably in the interim after /r9k/ got deleted.

yes, I know. anybody who was here then, including me, would know that it wasn't around before that, hence OP's question exposes his bullshit

7

>Not being on Sup Forums through the Ron Paul 2008 saga.

It ended the same way as this with people outing themselves publicly as a much of beta faggots. We lost pretty badly though.

you're wrong about Sup Forums these days

Sup Forums was never left wing. it was more libertarian during bush. Ron Paul, Sup Forums? etc.

you're right that /new/ preceded Sup Forums. I never fucked with /new/ tho

yah this is pretty accurate, desu

I wasn't on here during the Bush era. All I remember is hearing some pretty dumb Bush jokes from about 2005 onwards. From 2006 to 2008 it seemed like the whole world hated the guys guts, even more so when the economy took a shit in 2008 under his watch.

Obama was supposed to be black jesus that was going to fix the economy, totally fix race relations and institute a massive agenda because of his majority in the congress and the senate. He did fuck all aside from shill for bankers. A good lesson for the Trumptards.

I was here for the genesis of /new/. Basically what you did is comment on news, it didn't matter where from as long as it wasn't InfoWars (at that time there was no anti-SJW shit, it was purely retarded conspiracies).

As we progressed it became more and more evident that the individuals authoring news stories with a certain slant or pushing degenerate behavior were Jews in the American press. It became a meme in of itself.

At the time the US economy was much worse off than it is now, so there were a lot of discussions about that. Mostly Libertarian-type discussions about gold, free markets, the nefarious nature of the Federal Reserve, etc etc. Again big Ron Paul impact.

>We started off about 50/50 liberals and conservative

Nope. Sup Forums was a recreation of /new/, which was majority libertarian (big Ron Paul movement back in those days), closely followed by National Socialists and then a few lefties and commies. That's it.

moot recreated /r9k/ and Sup Forums because he had deleted their previous iterations months earlier.

...

I was a hard core hippy liberal in high school good times things were simpler he was constantly portrayed as a retarded version od Nixon I even remember seeing fahrenheit 911 in theaters but that was in early high school I was a hard core bush supporter at that point so I hated moor over time everyone just became disillusioned by him over time

Sup Forums was never good

But I'm curious...has it gotten worse

Did you niggers really forget about /new/?

>But I'm curious...has it gotten worse

of course

before Sup Forums most of the Sup Forums posters were on Sup Forums

now I visit Sup Forums maybe once a month at most, and that's probably true for many on this board

also, there didnt' used to be so many trap threads, the girls were better looking, and there was more oc

but you're right. Sup Forums was never good

Guess they did. Still blame the stormfags to this date for getting it deleted twice

I'm from the UK and I remember 14 years ago in January I was in school, 8 year old, and was sent to head master because in my 'Hopes for 2003' homework project I wrote that we should use nuclear weapons on iraq because they're all 'madmen' and we should 'wipe them off the map' with America.

The liberal brainwashers we called teachers went mental, it was very common to be very openly against the war in Iraq (which as an adult now I have a different view of, but back then as a kid they went mental) and they were not happy at anyone questioning that war is always bad all of the time no matter what in those little fucking farms they call the British educational system.

>Obama was supposed to be black jesus that was going to fix the economy, totally fix race relations and institute a massive agenda because of his majority in the congress and the senate. He did fuck all aside from shill for bankers. A good lesson for the Trumptards.

I could not of put that better myself bravo man

newfag here. since a little post fappening. yes....yes it has.

I havent looked at Sup Forums since 2010. Im actually afraid to look now.

also, Sup Forums used to raid. now raids are banned

raids were fun, they brought the board together (remembering visa/paypal raid, and the recrimination)

We just railed on muslims. Lots of Osama bin Laden OC and shit about mecca/bombing the mid east.

You had the same debates about race/IQ and arguments about who are white. Even then we knew about the coming white minority, but the sense of urgency wasn't as profound. Obama shipping refugees/Mexcians into small white towns and Germany thing is worse than any of our nightmares back then.

It was less international - you could feel it was pretty much 90% USA white kids talking amongst themselves. This was superior to how it is now in every way btw. Even fellow white europeans tend to generally lower the quality of discussion on all the chans since they became more popular.

I used to make OC back then... Now I leave it to the younger kids and you guys have done a great job at it.

>mfw I took a quick glance at Sup Forums just now

Looks about the same as it always has desu

The Ron Paul 2012 saga was worse desu. The GOP crushed him like a bug, even though he was polling respectable numbers in the 2012 Iowa race. I think he ended up winning that after a recount 6 months later.

For all of Ron Paul's qualities, the problem that he has is he is politically obtuse. At least he was principled enough not to endorse Romney.

Why the fuck I care about American politics I have no clue.

I remember in 2000 the week he was elected. Playing counter-strike, and someone spray painted an image of him with the tag "Were so fucked" . It got me thinking...

I've never forgotten that meme after 2001.

I'm so bummed i missed out on pre cuck chan. But i was just starting out in the military at the time and was a poorfag before that. So many feels lost. Plus side though. I didn't fall down a autism spiral of degeneracy at a tender age.

Sup Forums in general was ironically racist/antisemitic but generally leftist.
Sup Forums, if memory serves, was terrified of a McCain victory

Was pretty shit and insane and the only alternative then was liberalism so what is alt right today was liberalism then. And then the demagogue mr cool Obama showed up and everybody jizzed their pants only to find out he was the same shit as the preceding 8 years in terms of policy, just a liberal in terms of ideology, and while one destroyed the country with his ideology in one way, the other did it in his way

Does anyone else see that he's playing a G Major chord shape at the 4th fret? wtf george

>At the time the US economy was much worse off than it is now, so there were a lot of discussions about that. Mostly Libertarian-type discussions about gold, free markets, the nefarious nature of the Federal Reserve, etc etc. Again big Ron Paul impact.

I remember this. Lots of pro Ron Paul stuff as I was starting to get more into yank politics (I came for the Nazi memes, stayed for the politics). I think the Republican Primaries in 2011/2012 and of course SOPA General in 2012 was the first time I really took an interest in, and saw a huge spike in, libertarianism on Sup Forums. SOPA General was the glory days of Sup Forums politics though. Don't get me wrong Trump General made a lot of memes and a lot of OC and fun but it can't be compared to watching an almost constant live stream of CSpan with hundreds of other people and seeing them all develop organically. Plus there was a lot lot less redditors, tripfags and people obsessed with having a direct impact (rather than just shitposting their way through the election for lulz) than there are now.

2009 Sup Forums - current all just seems like complete shit to me.

There are no 1,000+ Myspace username/password (for the Gen Zers--that used to be our facebook) dumps multiple times a day for months on end. There are no more raids. Exif data is stripped from pictures, so there is no lulz. If lulz by some chance does happen, it gets party v& or banhammered immediately. Anime is nearly non-existent on Sup Forums except for loli fap threads. There is no OC. There is no actual discussion outside of copypasta which really isn't even posted anymore. People post their own selfies on Sup Forums and they don't get backraided/ridiculed into oblivion for it. If it ain't a roll thread or porn thread, it ain't on Sup Forums.

why would pepe be happy that happened

kek, I'm about to play cs 1.6 right now

McCain represented, and still represents, a continuation of the Bush-era foreign policies that began the Iraq War. They Neo-Cons wanted to go into Iran too around this time and it absolutely terrified a lot of people.

...

...

I've been around since 2005 Sup Forums hated Bush, pushed Ron Paul in 2008 but Sup Forums was overflowing from the brim with actual faggots and were therefor appeased when Obongo won.
2011/12 Sup Forums created, supported Ron Paul, Ron Paul lost again and people were sorta split because at the time we had liberals, fast forward to about 2013-2014, Sup Forums discovered it was always the jews and redpilling happened en masse, liberals threw hissy fits and eventually fled to reddit or their safe space on infinity-chan.

I've always been relatively far-right and religious, mostly surfed for gore following ogrish shutdown pre-2008 because it was the only thing that would sustain my haji-killing frenzy, so it just kinda fell into place.

>Sup Forums minus the cancer
You mean plus

>I've been around since 2005 Sup Forums hated Bush, pushed Ron Paul

Sup Forums didn't really push for anyone back then. Outside of not liking Bush on the rare occasion he was brought up, we were rather apolitical as a whole. Moot filtered "sup Sup Forums" to "RON PAUL Sup Forums" at one point but I'd wager to guess that 70% of Sup Forumstards back then didn't even know who he was without the aid of Jewoogle.

>tfw im 18 and came here from r the donald

feels good being an old faggot man

reee

The greeting "sup" in 2008 was filtered to Ron Paul, since the formality was "sup Sup Forums" the majority of threads said "RON PAUL Sup Forums" rather.

It was pretty fucking gay and there's even old cringey photos/interviews of Sup Forumstards at paul rallies you can dig up.

...

Whatever. My memory is hazy and I'm drunk off of the fermented Jew right now. All that I know is that Sup Forums as a whole didn't really give a fuck about politics but if it was brought up, most of us didn't like Bush because he was a warmongering asshole. Hell, I still don't like the fucker. I don't remember any Ron Paul meet ups.

It was Mad Max: the board. If there is anything degenerate or illegal or send you straight to hell it happened there. when the news or anyone warned about "danger on the internet" they were talking about Sup Forums and almost never dared mention the site for fear kids would look it up.

You would just see a blurred out pink page with some faggot mashing on a keyboard while they talked about whatever disaster happened that day.

That being said Sup Forums was never good.

I really think Sup Forums hasn't changed at all, which is kinda sad.
Same old s and gfur threads
roll thread
fap thread
The only new thing is maybe "share pictures you promised not to" thread

Sup Forums has changed but it has been the same for the last 7 - 8 years.

>I never saw that in rightie-whitey America
surprise

>We just railed
What do you mean by "we", Peasant?

Oldschool Sup Forums was mostly a mix of Anarchist, Libertarian, Leftwing... And a different boards represented these views to different extents.

We, They, also supported whatever candidate that didn't say stupid things about the internet.

I remember when there was "day" Sup Forums and "night" Sup Forums. I can't remember which one was worse actually... one of them had US kids coming onto Sup Forums and being shit.

>I remember when there was "day" Sup Forums and "night" Sup Forums

Man, ancientfag detected. That was a carry-over from FYAD. Night was always worse (or better from a lulz and shock standpoint).

>tfw

Sup Forums is only 4 years old just the way they like their women(male).

They used to post cp and give me a heart attack to reformat my phone and unplug my internet

Phonefags didn't exist back then. Smartphones weren't a thing.

Sup Forums was much more interesting place before 2007 due to amount of posters that now have their own boards

old /news/ was entertaining when it came back. The condition being that it didn't go full storm front again

I recall in 08 watching the dow tick down point by point live on tv as we started betting on it going below 10K
Was the first big event I remember live on /news/, shitposting on a day off, watching the world crash point by point

not bush era, but I remember the day of the flash crash
as the market started dropping. watching it bullshitting with everyone was great

closest to a big live happening we'd ever had, although it wasn't called that back then

Got to watch the play by play on cnbc as the stock market started tanking quickly calling it by number

smartphones were a thing, but mobile internet was overpriced slow shit

2007 was pretty decent from a raid and lulz standpoint. I'd even say it was the pinnacle and Sup Forums completely nose-dived from there. Even though the "no raids allowed" rule was implemented a year before or some shit, it wasn't really enforced at all. You could log onto Sup Forums at any time and find multiple myspace username/password dump threads (consisting of hundreds - thousands of accounts) and everyone would dogpile the thread in order to be the first one to gain control of some faggot's e-life.

I think it was better at late night in the US until the start of the night for indians and aussies getting on and it going to shit

Was that pile of shit even considered a smartphone? I thought the iPhone was the first true "smartphone." Sup Forums didn't support them back then, anyway (at least I don't think it did).

Much the same as today. Lefty scum everywhere. Full on selling out of the west in full force. Maybe 60-70% at the level it is today.

Before Sup Forums, there was /n/.

Then moot removed /n/ because the board was flooded with cuck bait. "How can white men even compete?" That kind of shit.

We supported Ron Paul in 2012 and a lot of anti-Ron Paul supporters would spam pictures that said he was a Jew.

Openly discussed holocaust denial but it was tightly moderated.

Anyone here remember them teaching us the universe is slowing down only to be BTFO now when it's continually speeding up? I remember it in the textbook.

how do we slow it down

everything started going to shit around obamas election.

The "we president now" meme summed up what was the real beginning of the current era of decay.

PreObama it was still low key and unknown compared to now where it's become some kind of twitter/facebook for aspies and edgy teens

Moot let all kinds of shit fly back then, mostly hands off.
Word filters were entertaining and changed regularly to fuck with users.

precaptcha was better as well. it was worth the purplesquare "save as" spam scripts and kimmmmo.

Last normal decent shit I remember was the oprah Over 9000 penises thing, after that and a few other "high profile" lulz bringing in more kids, the chzburger cat shit REALLY started the influx of what you'd call normies now.

are you talking about cosmological inflation? how far back was that?
even back in the 80s/90s, the gradeschool textbooks said we didn't know the shape of the universe's curve and didn't know whether it'd expand forever or go back to big crunch.
