Yes. Too bad millenials were at best shittin yellow then. Hell most were not even born yet. Enjoy your lives as digital slaves faggots. Too bad the best years of America are already past.

holy sit i just love these old fucking fotos, everything seems so weird nowadays, no depth

look at this picture, so fucking great and deep

I'm pleased I managed to see NYC while it still kind of looked like this. Now its just screens everywhere, everyone's too fucking lazy to manufacture a physical sign.

Corporate America, yo.
It's more cost-efficient in the long term to put up a screen and change the image than to make an entirely new image every few weeks or months.

Video related. HD footage from 1993. Lots of things are better now, objectively speaking, but got I wish I could go back to that first trip and the magic I felt there.

yes

10 years before the 3/5 compromise

They used to leave that shit up for years though. That JVC sign from the OP, for example.

A middle ground needs to be reached. Ironic in some ways that the country that most people think is too saturated with advertising culture is also the one that hasn't realised that adverts themselves can become part of the landscape and identity of a place.

2916-2026

Nigger 900 years is not a decade

80s was the best in my lifetime. The time before all the poor decisions were made.

1:43 - ancient Sup Forumsack?

>1:41

Sup Forums?

The 90s ended with a budget surplus and high hopes for the future. The internet didn't have comment sections yet and 9/11 hadn't happened. Global warming didn't have Koch money going against it. The Kardashians were in school and not on tv.

3:53 Oh, a cute girl
3:59 AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

What ever decade that we still had slaves.

>Poster from the future

What the fuck happens in 2916 that causes space time time to loop back upon itself?

>we

Is that... Sam fucking Hyde

??

So great and deep? It's capitalist trash. Billboards and advertisements everywhere. The only difference is no smartphones.

Yeah, I'd say it was the 80s. Without the Soviets to compete against we've really slacked off and let the pussies take over the country.

that smug face

Heh, I work in otudoor advertising

It's difficult to get the city planning departments to think this way as I've been trying... government here is very anti-sign pretty much everywhere

Granted, the outdoor industry doesn't exactly maintain there inventory very well, or even consider the neighborhood aesthetics usually

>all those ads for japanese companies
It's all America's fault. They sold out to China. If you guys weren't so afraid of Japanese domination, this could be the world now.

no they did not
massive debt
and massive gov spending based on artifical bubble

LOL
nope that because japan economic was flop in 90s

The 90s and before that the 70s.

What's the deal with /this guy/? Is he fucked up? in pain? Super smug?

80s were the best. Business was booming, one parent could work and one could stay home with kids and still feed their family, people weren't offended about everything and had manners, people didn't sit in front of a screen and we're less serious. It ducks now. Cultural enrichment and millennials ruined it

January 20, 1981-September 11, 2001

>walmart blows up and appears in every neighborhood
>they only sell cheap chinese shit
>Woooooooow why did our market go to China I can't understand why we lost our jobs

I'd give anything to go in that picture. I've always wanted to experience the 80s, and a cozy snowy atmosphere would be icing on the cake for me.

Thinking about the 8ball he did with hookers the night before is causing a psychosomatic bowel movement.

dude knows he did some shit and is going to pay

Agree with you right up til the end. Millennials didnt do shit. A couple of uniquely retarded subsets of boomer tards did. Neocon boomer tards under the spell of Leo Strauss. Libtard boomer cucks under the spell of Saul Alinsky. Two wimpy chicago kikes. Rabble roused us right off the track of a stable, ordered, happy society

Pre-2004 wasn't too bad.

My life was good until 1997, after that it all went to shit.

lol same here. That's about when everything went downhill. In the culture too

80s also had one of the best, fun, and random collections of cinema and cult classic films. Nothing was too weird or off limits then. Good grief I want to go back. Music was great too :'(

Also millennials are effing things up now bc they're cry baby sjw so while they may not have contributed to the downfall they're a contributor to the entitlement that is present today

Why is everything from the Clinton era so fluid and jazzy?

More importantly, what is significant about 2026 for us to go back? Six or two years after Trump leaves office?

Looks like me when I take Ambien and go shopping at 3am.

I'm so melancholy now days. Can't even bear to watch a Hollywood film unless it's from the 80s I hate what our cinema and entertainment industry has turned into. Fake people, butchering classics, and if they can't come up with a script throw more sex in. I swear I cannot carry on normal conversation with people anymore bc I don't relate to them. Damn this redpill

Your pic was from the "real", Berenstein universe. Yeah, the world actually made sense then.

The era of that video really was that vivid and vibrant. Growing up in that environment literally now feels like it was all a dream. It lasted pretty long time. 9/11 began much more scripting of reality (building a collective 9/11 narrative, rise of "reality" tv, onset of social media). then really the smartphone was the next total disaster for society and happening to coincide with a whacked out leftist administration really derailed the culture to where we are now, badly limping to hopefully better days under trump

I guess it is not possible to ever just halt or pause a society's tech level in a healthy way but somehere around 1993-1996 we had everything we would need and should have to be creative and independent and happy and should have been left longer to enjoy that state of contentment by any means necessary governmentally because history has shown them to be so so so rare

>last great decade

probably 5.9 million years ago user
why? you feeling nostalgic?
