I'd recommend /news/ if you want less funposting and more debate, but it has no character to it.

I think a solution to this is making any thread that has Drumpf and the like in the title be moved to /trash/ if the OP does not uphold a level of post quality throughout the thread.

Devolved speech shitposting should only be a mainstay on boards such as /s4s/, /mlp/, and /c/, where discussion is not a goal but a hindrance.
