What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

No. In a capitalist society there are two main classes, capitalists and workers. Capitalists own things like factories, companies, etc. and hire workers to work for them, in exchange for the products of the worker's labor. Workers are people who earn wages in exchange for their labor, and don't keep what they produce.
Think of a shoe factory. A capitalist is the one who owns all the machines and pays the workers to make shoes, then sells the shoes for profit. The workers make shoes but don't own the machines nor the shoes they produce, and simply get paid by selling their labor power.
Great thing is, anyone can go to college, get a loan after and open a show factory. It all comes down to your merit. Communism only exists to reward those that don't make an effort.

Not really, because of the ratio of factory owners to workers, there are a lot more workers. So it follows that only a small fraction of the population can do it simultaneously. That's disregarding credit score/inaccessibility of loans, competition when starting out versus the huge already established manufacturers, economy of scale, etc.

But everyone is a capitalist, they sell their labor and negotiate wages. They can also start their own businesses and do their own production when they see fit. Its not all rich vs poor. What about the people who work in services or small businesses?
And why would any keep what they make anyway? The materials are not theirs, the machines are not theirs either, the buildings are not theirs, the only thing that is theirs is their labor. The labor is the only thing being bought by the owners.

Social pressure, gradually built up socialist cultural traditions, desire for praise, awards/commendations, etc. Also automation will make work less physically grueling and more creative/mental over time.
It's an end goal/ideal to gradually approach and feel our way towards, not something to instantly implement overnight. In the interim, a state run market and some currency, etc. would exist.

Labor isn't really capital. Capital is productive infrastructure, machines, buildings, etc. You sell your labor time to the capitalists. Yes there are some grey areas, small business owners, etc. in Marxist jargon we call them "petite bourgeoisie" or "little capitalists". Most small business owners work and also own capital. They are sort of in between and have a different economic and political niche.

Construction of factories ultimately requires not money but humans to construct them and construction materials. In communism there would be no issue of paying, as people would work to build it, using collectively owned resources/building materials.

The socialist state will fail because the working class will ultimately fall susceptible to hierarchy because of human nature. The worker must first be gradually indoctrinated with collectivist ideals for communism to succeed. This could take anywhere from 100 - 500 years, ostensibly. Communism requires the complete destruction of ideals of the old paradigm. So long as one can think in terms of themselves and that they are deserving of more than another, communism will fail.

Labor is the most important part of this, without it you would have nothing but one guy trying to make stuff to sell. Labor is one of the fundamentals of economics and business building. Labor allows a person to do the minimal amount of work and get paid the most for it or else you have everybody trying to do everything and getting little for it.. Specialization allows your economy to grow and allows for more people to prosper.

The goal of communism is to make it so that the whole people, including the people working to produce things, own those means of production. In the current system these are somehow disjointed because we still have private property.
The government/decision making apparatus/collective democratic decision of the people, etc. Same as nowadays like when the government plans out a big project to do. There are hearings, meetings, surveys, consultations, etc.
I use the term government loosely here to mean people organized to make decisions like this.

Communism was brutal but the thing is that centrally planned economies are great at modernizing backwards countries in record time, their problem is that they're inefficient at managing an advanced economy like that of the 1970s USSR, which leads to stagnation. Famines in Soviet Russia happened only during the process of rapid economic modernization, people weren't dying of famine in the 60s.
But there are people who don't want to or can't own the means of production. Why would communism force this on people who are unwilling?
