The Communist and Socialist ideal has worked quite a few times my friend. For example; Yugoslavia was based off a socialist model and became an economic powerhouse from ruins. Standards of living were high and the people of the nation were united against the capitalist threat. It only faced collapse, not because of its economic problems, but rather CIA infiltration and reagen funding of nationalists.
As for why it will work in the future, it is inevitable. The internal contradictions of Capitalism cannot stand, as more labor is discarded in favor of automation and outsourcing, the pool of workers and consumers will fall and the people will want their work and production back. Leading to the people wanting to take back their labor in a democratic economy.

What we describe as "human nature" can develop throughout history according to our conditions. Why yes, things like breathing, and defending young are certainly parts of our actual nature..Capitalism is in no way our human nature.

If the workers truly owned the means of production in a socialist system you would see different classes of citizens based on how successful the factory they were running was. So much for equality when Factory A is successful and all of the workers earn $1m annually while Factory B is shit and all the workers make $100 annually.
Furthermore workers can own the means of production under capitalism. Just buy the company stock instead of wasting your hard earned money on vodka, cigarettes, and a $60k truck you can't afford.
