Developments NOV 30 >Governemnt forces liberate Sukkari & Sheikh Saeed districts >Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah convoy near Damascus >Erdogan: Turkish forces are in Syria to end Assad's rule >SAA reinforcements arrive for largest East Ghouta offensive >SAA gives ISIS, Nusra last warning to leave Yarmouk Camp >ISIS drone bombs kill 6 people in Deir Ezzor >Massive West Ghouta evacuation:thousands leave for Idlib >Civilians targeted by rebels in eastern Aleppo >Water cut off to 650,000 Mosul residents after pipeline hit wikileaks.org/yemen-files/
What's basically going to happen is that rebels will eventually be forced out of all provincial capitals in Syria. From there, they will either lose most of their territory or be forced to hold countryside and towns and villages. They will not be able to control provincial capitals anymore.
They will have to do what they did at the beginning of the war. It will shift to an 'insurgency', not a 'civil war' and they will have to do guerrilla attacks and shock attacks for momentum.
Think Afghanistan when the Soviets were around.

Mosul is way better defended than aleppo , fsa cant defend for shit , isis know at list how to make multiple line to retreat to when it collapse , unlike the fsa who have a big frontline and when it collapse it just left a giant gap without much place to retreat to

It's part of a master plan. Rebel would likely try to break the siege again during ceasefire, which would de-legitimize them greatly.
Evan Hill
Except that won't work at all. They have no support base to conduct a guerilla campaign.
US should be the last one to call someone to be investigated by Hague. They haven't even joined the ICC, because then they would have to answer for their war crimes.

4 things that always bother me about this dumb picture
>memefrog is visible to the insurgents >memefrog is close enough that he too will be killed by the airstrike >pistol is not ready to fire >that rifle is not suitable for that close range
Lads, why is Hezbollah so goddamn good? What makes them the best fighting force in Syria? even better than their iranian trainers.

>This isn't a video game That's exactly why I think that 4km2 is too much to capture within one day. One wrong step, one Nusrat with a suicide belt hiding in a building, one overlooked tunnelbomb and you and maybe even your squad will get wiped out within a matter of seconds. Of course once the frontlines fall, advances will be faster because what you say is true essentially. But keep in mind that this isn't a war between Germany and France, where the loosing site will just surrender as they actually value their own lifes. One of the fighting sides has fighters that have absolutely no problem to VBIED themselves, for the greater good and if I didn't have f.e. this: I wouldn't advance so deep into their lines without properly checking every corner, every basement, every car at least twice. So far the FSA didn't use (at least not many) IEDs, but who knows what they'll do once they're desperate enough.
>vast amounts of food None of the killed militias look like they are malnourished to me
It just seems to me like there's more happening than just collapsing frontlines. Maybe something like russiabro hinted, somebody ratting the other rebels out, maybe they were able to hit some of the commanders, leaving the troops in disarray, maybe better weapons/military advisors from Russia, who knows. But just breaking through the north and now marching into the south like it was nothing? After they haven't been able to advance in months?
At some point I'll probably take a look at modern military tactics, since I think it's quite interesting.
