I can verify this. I have an extra fridge in the garage and I had some potatoes in it this one started growing. I let it go and it was pretty interesting how it spread out and started producing more with no light and no water. I'm guessing it was getting enough moisture from the fridge. My wife made me get rid of it after 2 months
